To improve the solubility, photostability and fluorescence quantum yield (Φ) of 2-arylbenzimidazolium ions the N-1 hydrogen was replaced by an alkyl group before N-3 was quatemized; this substitution did not reduce Φ, proving the absence of steric inhibition to attainment of coplanarity in the excited state. A related symmetrical 2,2′-arylenebis(1,3-dimethyldibenzimidazolium ion) had Φ = 0.86. The related 2,5-bis(1-methyl-2-benzimidazolyl)phenol had Φ = 0.38 at 22° as well as a very large Stokes' shift due to proton-transfer. These findings supported a new insight into the electron distribution of the first excited singlet state of oligophenylenes. The compounds are of interest as laser dyes and scintillation fluors.  相似文献

An alkalophilic hyperproducer of alkaline protease, Bacillus sp. NG312, was isolated, and the enzyme showed maximum activity at pH 11.0 and 60°C. The temperature optimum was increased by 10°C in presence of Ca2+. The crudeenzyme was found to have half-life of 11 d at 37°C and maximum stability at pH 9.0–10.0. It also exhibited very good stability in presence of detergent components and some locally available commericial detergent powders.  相似文献

Thallium(III)trinitrate trihydrate (TTN) is known to be a useful and extremely versatile reagent in organic synthesis.1-5 Its use has been exploited mainly in oxidation and oxidative rearrangements of chalcones, aromatic ketones and phenols. A new chromogenic receptor based on 1,2-phenylene derivative containing thiourea moieties is synthesized and examined for its anion binding ability by UV–Vis and 1H NMR studies. The results show that the receptor has selective colorimetric sensing of fluoride over all other anions like chloride, bromide, iodide, nitrate, hydrogen sulphate and acetate.  相似文献

The paper reports a structural study of some memory and threshold chalcogenides in terms of coordination numberC, defined byC=8−N, and is the average coordination number for covalently bonded materials. The average number of nearest neighbours surrounding a central atom, obtained for As-Ge-Te (memory) and Se-Ge-Te (threshold) systems have been used to estimate the cohesive energies, assuming simple additivity of bond energies. The bonding pattern so obtained, explains certain properties of these glasses.  相似文献

Plants are rich source of biologically active allelochemicals. However, natural product discovery is not an easy task. Many problems encountered during this laborious practice can be overcome through the modification of preliminary trials. Bioassay-directed isolation of active plant compounds can increase efficiency by eliminating many of the problems encountered. This strategy avoids unnecessary compounds, concentrating on potential components and thus reducing the cost and time required. In this study, a crude aqueous extract of sunflower leaves was fractionated through high performance liquid chromatography. The isolated fractions were checked against Chenopodium album and Rumex dentatus. The fraction found active against two selected weeds was re-fractionated, and the active components were checked for their composition. Thin layer chromatography isolated a range of phenolics, whereas the presence of bioactive terpenoids was confirmed through mass spectroscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy.  相似文献

The LR-115 type-II plastic track detector has been used for measuring the indoor radon levels in the dwellings of some villages of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. In Punjab, the villages surveyed are Rampura Phul, Lehra Mahabat and Pitho (villages in Bathinda district), and Amritsar city. The average indoor radon levels in these areas are found to vary from 64 to 152 Bq/m3, which are quite within the safe limits recommended by International Commission on Radiological Protection (Ann. ICRP 23(2)). The indoor radon levels have also been measured in the dwellings of Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh. The villages surveyed in this area are Nukhel, Badarn, Galore-Khas, Har-Upper, Tikker Brahamana and Awah-Lower where radon concentration has been found to vary from 261 to 724 Bq/m3. These values are higher than the recommended limit.  相似文献

In this paper we report the electrical and photoelectrical properties of AgInSe2. Nyquist plots for AgInSe2, obtained at different temperatures, are perfect arcs of a semicircle with their centres lying below the abscissa at an angleα. Finite values ofα (the distribution parameter) clearly indicate a multirelaxation behaviour. Transient and steady state photoconductivity of AgInSe2 has been studied at different temperatures and illumination levels. The lnI ph vs lnF curves at different temperatures follow the empirical relation:I phF γ. Values of γ are close to 0.5 at all the temperatures, suggesting a bimolecular recombination. Decay of the photocurrent, when the illumination is switched off, shows that during decay, photocurrent has two components, i.e. a fast decay in the beginning and a slow decay thereafter. Decay time constant for slow decay process decreases with increasing temperature, suggesting that recombination is a thermally activated process in the temperature range studied.  相似文献

Store-based retailers have been concerned about the high fulfillment costs and low gross margins of their online sales. This paper incorporates such issues in a non-linear mixed-integer profit maximization model of the online order fulfillment process for multi-channel retailers. A solution approach based on an iterative outer-approximation technique is developed. Using empirical data from a large U.S. retailer, the profitability of different options used by multi-channel retailers to fill online orders is evaluated. Managerial insights are developed through a factorial research design that highlights the effect of relevant logistics processes and fulfillment methods on the profitability of online sales for retailers.  相似文献

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is the fastest growing metabolic disorder in the world. Recently, more attention is paid to the study of natural products due to side effects of synthetic drugs. Stevia rebaudiana (Bertoni) is considered an encouraging starting point for the antidiabetic lead development. In the present study, the in vitro α-amylase inhibitory activity of the extracts of S. rebaudiana is investigated. In order to understand the molecular mechanism and future pharmacophore development, in silico study of secondary metabolites isolated from S. rebaudiana was carried out. Results indicated that water extract shows highest α-amylase inhibitory activity as compared to other extracts. Moreover, compound 20 (rebaudioside A) which has been previously reported and isolated from water extract showed the impressive binding profile with α-amylase. Therefore, our study suggests that S. rebaudiana could be used in the development of therapeutic drugs for the treatment of diabetes.  相似文献
