The electroanalysis of d-penicillamine in 0.1 phosphate buffer (pH 7) was studied at a boron-doped diamond thin film (BDD) electrode using cyclic voltammetry as a function of concentration of analyte and pH of analyte solution. Comparison experiments were performing using a glassy carbon (GC) electrode. The BDD electrode exhibited a well-resolved and irreversible oxidation voltammogram, but the GC electrode provided only an ill-defined response. The BDD electrode provided a linear dynamic range from 0.5 to 10 mM and a detection limit of 25 muM (S/B>/=3) in voltammetric measurement. It was also found that the peak potentials were decreased when the pH of the analyte solution was increased. In addition, penicillamine has been studied by hydrodynamic voltammetry and flow injection analysis with amperometric detection using the BDD electrode. The flow injection analysis results at the diamond electrode indicated a linear dynamic range from 0.5 to 50 muM and a detection limit of 10 nM (S/N approximately 4). The proposed method was applied to determine d-penicillamine in dosage form (capsules), the results obtained in the recovery study (255+/-2.50 mg per tablet) were comparable to those labeled (250 mg per tablet). 相似文献

The emergence of excessive free radicals leads to the destruction of various systems within the body. These free radicals also affect nutritional values, color, taste, and emit an odor akin to rancid food. Most food industries use synthetic antioxidants, such as BHT (butylated hydroxytoluene) or BHA (butylated hydroxy anisole). However, high doses of these can be harmful to our health. Therefore, an antioxidant compounds, such as bioactive peptides from edible animals or plants, have emerged to be a very promising alternative as they reduce potential side effects. This study focused on the purification and identification of antioxidant peptides from protein hydrolysates of wild silkworm pupae (Samia ricini). Antioxidant peptides were purified from the hydrolysate by ultrafiltration and RP-HPLC. The results showed that protein hydrolysate from S. ricini pupae by trypsin with a molecular weight lower than 3 kDa and highly hydrophobic property, exhibited strong DPPH radical scavenging activity and chelating activity. Further identification of peptides from the fraction with the highest antioxidant activity was carried out using LC-MS/MS. Three novel peptides, i.e., Met-Ley-Ile-Ile-Ile-Met-Arg, Leu-Asn-Lys-Asp-Leu-Met-Arg, and Glu-Asn-Ile-Ile-Leu-Phe-Arg, were identified. The results of this study indicated that the protein hydrolysate from S. ricini pupae possessed potent biological activity, and the novel antioxidant peptides could be utilized to develop health-related antioxidants in food industry. 相似文献

The complete detoxification of harmful dyes and antibiotics from aqueous solution is essential for environmental remediation. The present work focuses on a facile hydrothermal synthesis of a cadmium sulfide (CdS) photocatalyst using thioacetamide as a sulfur source. The synthesized CdS showed a hexagonal phase with an energy gap of 2.27 eV, suggesting the promising visible-light-responsive semiconducting photocatalyst. The photoactivity of the prepared CdS was investigated by evaluating the degradation of the Reactive red 141 (RR141) dye, Congo red (CR) dye, and ofloxacin (OFL) antibiotic. After only 180 min of solar light illumination, a high performance of 98%, 97%, and 87% toward degradation of RR141, CR, and OFL was obtained. The photodegradation of the pollutants agrees well with the first-order kinetic model. The rate constant of 0.055 min−1, 0.040 min−1, and 0.026 min−1, respectively, was reported toward degradation of RR141, CR, and OFL. Photogenerated holes and hydroxyl radicals play a vital role in removing toxic organic contaminants. The chemical stability of the prepared CdS was also confirmed. The synthesized CdS photocatalyst still maintains high photocatalytic performance even after five consecutive cycles of use, indicating its excellent cycling ability. The present research shows a facile route to fabricate a CdS photocatalyst to completely detoxify harmful organic pollutants, including dyes and antibiotics, in the environment. 相似文献
