[formula: see text] Both in vivo and in vitro techniques have been developed to test putative intermediates in the biosynthetic pathway to the pseudopterosins, antiinflammatory compounds isolated from Pseudopterogorgia elisabethae. Furthermore, specific activity data we have obtained indicate that pseudopterosin A is a precursor to pseudopterosins B, C, and D. We conclude that in the biosynthesis xylose is attached to the diterpene skeleton to produce pseudopterosin A and is then aceylated to form pseudopterosins B-D.  相似文献

Investigations are reported that identify the biosynthetic source and origins of the pseudopterosins, pharmacologically important diterpene glycosides, in the gorgonian coral Pseudopterogorgia elisabethae. We report here the isolation of physiologically significant levels of endogenous pseudopterosins A, B, C, and D from purified symbionts identified as the dinoflagellate Symbiodinium sp. Biosynthetic studies in photosynthesizing symbiont isolates utilizing 14C-labeled inorganic carbon and the tritiated intermediate geranylgeranyl diphosphate yielded radiochemically pure pseudopterosins A through D and the first committed intermediate, elisabethatriene. The 14CO(2) uptake into the pseudopterosin pathway occurred at low levels compared to the 14CO(2) uptake into total lipids, suggesting a large reserve pool of the compounds. These results reveal for the first time that pseudopterosin biosynthesis is occurring within the algal symbiont and suggests the physiological implications of this biosynthesis.  相似文献

For the polycrystalline samples of Mn1?xCuxCr2S4 (x = 0.85, 0.90, 0.95) the magnetization was measured in the temperature range between 77 K and the Curie temperature, TC, using a magnetic balance (Faraday's method) and pulsed magnetic fields up to 2.0 T. The magnetic susceptibility was measured between TC and about 600 K. The Curie temperatures were obtained using the kink point method.In the temperature range between 4.2 and 77 K the magnetization was measured in stationary magnetic fields up to 14 T. The data indicate a noncollinear ferrimagnetic structure. The compounds under investigation can be treated as CuCr2S4 slightly doped with Mn, with a valence distribution Mn2+1?xCu1+xCr3+2?xCr4+xS2?4.  相似文献

We present the results concerning field dependences of magnetization for Zn1-xCuxCr2Se4 mixed spinels studied at low temperatures with the use of both high magnetic stationary fields up to 14 T and high pulsed fields up to 25 T. From the isotherms of static magnetization we have obtained the incremental high field susceptibility and from pulsed measurents the differential one. The temperature and concentration (x) dependences of the calculated high field susceptibility χhf are interpreted based on the magnetic properties of the spinels under study presented in refs. [4–7]. The greatest changes of χhf were observed in the intermediate concentration range exhibiting a conical spin structure, in which the appearance of the double-exchange interaction between Cr3+ and Cr4+ ions plays a main role. It drives the transition from a noncollinear magnetic structure to a ferromagnetic one with increasing copper concentration.  相似文献

We investigate nonlinear oscillations in a fourth-order partialdifferential equation which models a suspension bridge. Previouswork establishes multiple periodic solutions when a parameterexceeds a certain eigenvalue. In this paper, we use Leray-Schauderdegree theory to prove that if the parameter is increased further,beyond a second eigenvalue, then additional solutions are created.  相似文献

Single crystals of Zn1−xSbxCr2−x/3Se4 based on the ZnCr2Se4 spinel, which is known to exhibit interesting magnetic and electronic transport properties, have been prepared by solid state reaction from the appropriate selenides. Three compounds of different Sb content (x=0.11, 0.16, and 0.20) were studied by X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron scattering technique and macroscopic magnetic measurements with the aim to determine (i) stability of the cubic symmetry and (ii) influence of the Sb admixture on the magnetic properties. The results show that the Sb3+ and Zn2+ ions share the tetrahedral sites in the spinel structure, while the Cr3+ions carrying magnetic moments, are located in the octahedral sites. The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) data indicate that in this series of compounds the chromium ions have a 3d3 electronic configuration. The three samples studied order antiferromagnetically at low temperatures, with the magnetic characteristics being hardly altered with respect to those reported for the parent ZnCr2Se4 compound.  相似文献

The urban sound environment of New York City (NYC) can be, amongst other things: loud, intrusive, exciting and dynamic. As indicated by the large majority of noise complaints registered with the NYC 311 information/complaints line, the urban sound environment has a profound effect on the quality of life of the city’s inhabitants. To monitor and ultimately understand these sonic environments, a process of long-term acoustic measurement and analysis is required. The traditional method of environmental acoustic monitoring utilizes short term measurement periods using expensive equipment, setup and operated by experienced and costly personnel. In this paper a different approach is proposed to this application which implements a smart, low-cost, static, acoustic sensing device based around consumer hardware. These devices can be deployed in numerous and varied urban locations for long periods of time, allowing for the collection of longitudinal urban acoustic data. The varied environmental conditions of urban settings make for a challenge in gathering calibrated sound pressure level data for prospective stakeholders. This paper details the sensors’ design, development and potential future applications, with a focus on the calibration of the devices’ Microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) microphone in order to generate reliable decibel levels at the type/class 2 level.  相似文献

This paper investigates blind Reverberation Time (RT) estimation in occupied classrooms and hospital wards. Measurements are usually made while these spaces are unoccupied for logistical reasons. However, occupancy can have a significant impact on the rate of reverberant decay. Recent work has developed a Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) method which utilises only passively recorded speech and music signals, this enables measurements to be made while the room is in use. In this paper the MLE method is applied to recordings made in classrooms during lessons. Classroom occupancy levels differ for each lesson, therefore a model is developed using blind estimates to predict the RT for any occupancy level to within ±0.07 s for the mid-frequency octave bands. The model is also able to predict the effective room and per person absorption area.Ambient sound recordings were also carried out in a number of rooms in two hospitals for a week. Hospital measurements are more challenging as the occurrence of free reverberant decay is rarer than in schools and the acoustic conditions may be non-stationary. However, by gaining recordings over a period of a week, estimates can be gained within ±0.07 s. These estimates are representative of the times when the room contains the highest acoustic absorption. In other words when curtains are drawn, there are many visitors or perhaps a window may be open.  相似文献
