Quantum-chemical study of adsorption of Ag<Subscript>2</Subscript>, Ag<Subscript>4</Subscript>, and Ag<Subscript>8</Subscript> on different parts of the TiO<Subscript>2</Subscript> surface

Quantum-chemical study of the adsorption of two-, four- and eight-atomic silver clusters on stoichiometric and partially reduced rutile (110) surface, and of silver tetramer on the surface of anatase (101) was carried out in the framework of periodic DFT model. The most energetically favorable positions of clusters on the surface of TiO₂ and the mechanism of binding the clusters with the substrate were revealed. According to the calculations, the adsorption of silver clusters on the surface of stoichiometric rutile (110) is more preferable than on the partially reduced one. The mechanism of binding the clusters with the surface of anatase and rutile is shown to be similar.

Effect of physiologically acid additives (ammonium sulfate, potassium chloride, and mixtures of these) on the activation of the phosphorite powder was studied.

Formation conditions and structural and rheological properties were studied for emulsions based on rapeseed oil in the presence of aqueous solutions of sodium, potassium, and calcium chlorides and of sodium carbonate and sodium hydroxide.     

Study of the interfacial tension in model and technical emulsions in the presence of surfactants and inorganic electrolytes

Interfacial tension in the oil/water system in the presence of various ionic surfactants and inorganic electrolytes was studied. Special features of the effect of the surfactant and oil phase natures, of the structure of their molecules, and also of the electrolytes containing ions with various radii, valences, and hydratabilities on the value of the interfacial tension were studied. The criteria and conditions of obtaining model emulsions based on paraffin hydrocarbons and technical emulsions based on vegetable oils were determined.     

Effect of inhibitors on corrosion resistance of carbon steel in suspensed liquid combined fertilizer

Inhibitors against corrosion of metal surfaces in salt solutions, especially of carbon steel in reference 5% NaCl solution and in suspension fertilizer were selected. We examined a corrosion kinetics, effect of corrosion protection, and also a penetration and a corrosion depth in the presence of various inhibitors.     

Foaming and stabilizing activity of binary solutions of sodium carboxylates of different chain length

Influence of short-chain soda soap (sodium pentanoate) on the foaming and stabilizing activity of long-chain sodium carboxylates (laurate, myristate, and palmitate) is studied.     

Stability and structural and rheological properties of rapeseed oil-based emulsions in the presence of sodium carboxylates

Formation conditions and structural and rheological properties of rapeseed oil-based emulsions in the presence of sodium laurate and sodium palmitate were examined.     

Foaming activity of foam compounds based on hexadecylammonium chloride and sodium carboxylates

Formation of R₁R₂ associates between hexadecylammonium chloride and sodium carboxylates (octanoate, laurate, and palmitate) was studied by IR spectroscopy and chemical methods, and their foaming activity was characterized.
