Flowing and static gas-phase samples of HNO3 in O2 and N2 were analyzed by long-path ultraviolet/visible (UV/VIS) spectroscopy to reveal the presence of both NO2 and NO3, the concentrations of which were calculated using differential absorption cross sections. NO2 is produced predominantly by the heterogeneous decomposition of HNO3, whereas NO3 is generated in the gas phase by the thermal decomposition of N2O5, a product of the self-disproportionation of liquid HNO3. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Secondary propene ozonide and isobutene ozonide were formed in the gas-phase ozonolysis of ethene with added acetaldehyde and acetone, respectively. Combined with the formation of hydroperoxymethyl formate and methoxymethyl hydroperoxide in the ethene-ozone reaction system in the presence of HCOOH and CH3OH, respectively, formation of the secondary ozonides reveals a close similarity between the gas-phase and the liquid-phase ozonolysis of alkenes.  相似文献

The UV—visible absorption spectrum of molecular chlorine at 298 K was investigated in the wavelength range 200–550 nm with a spectral resolution of 0.2 nm. Except for minor discrepancies, the absorption cross-sections are in agreement with those found in the literature. In the region 250λ-550 nm, the Cl2 spectrum can be adequately described by a semi-empirical function of the wavelength A (in vacuum) and temperature T where TANH=tanh(hcx559.751 cm−1/2kT). The absorption of solar radiation by the weak continuum around λmax=406.5 nm contributes 9% or more of the photodissociation of molecular chlorine in the atmosphere, but the banded Cl2 features (λ 479 nm) are of negligible atmospheric significance.  相似文献

Molar extinction coefficients of some carbohydrates viz. l-arabinose (C5H10O5), d-glucose (C6H12O6), d-mannose (C6H12O6), d-galactose (C6H12O6), d(-) fructose (C6H12O6) and maltose (C12H24O12) in aqueous solutions have been determined at 81, 356, 511, 662, 1173 and 1332 keV by gamma ray transmission method in a narrow beam good geometry set-up. These coefficients have been found to depend upon the photon energy following a 4-parameter polynomial. These extinction coefficients for different sugars having the same molecular formula have same values varying within experimental uncertainty. Within concentration ranges studied, Beer-Lambert law is obeyed very well.  相似文献

Processes of the form pp → anything → XiXj → + + notE are studied via a technique that may be viewed as an adaptation of time-honoured Dalitz plot analyses. Xi and Xj are new heavy states (with i, j =1, . . .,n), which may be identical or distinct; and and are necessarily distinct standard model (SM) fermion pairs whose invariant masses can be measured. A Dalitz-like plot of said invariant masses, versus , exhibits a topology connected to the masses and specific decay chains of Xi and Xj. Aside from relatively minor details, observed patterns consist of a collection of box and wedge shapes. This collection is model-dependent: comparison of the observed pattern to the possibilities for a specific model yields information on which new particle pair combinations are actually being produced, information beyond that extractable from conventional one-dimensional invariant mass distributions. The technique is illustrated via application to the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) process pp → → e+e- + μ+μ- notE. Here the heavy states are neutralinos (i = 2,3,4) - note that is excluded - which are produced in gluino/squark ( / ) cascade decay chains. Even with fairly modest expectations for the LHC performance during the first few years, this method still provides substantial insight into the neutralino mass spectrum and couplings if gluino/squark masses are relatively low (≃ 400 GeV). Ozonolysis of cis- and trans-2-butene isomers were carried out in a 570 l spherical glass vessel in 730 torr synthetic air at 295 ± 3 K. The initial concentrations were 5 to 10 ppmv for the isomers and 2 to 5 ppmv for ozone. Quantitative yields were determined by FTIR spectroscopy for CH3CHO, HCHO, CH4, CH3OH, CO, and CO2. By means of computational subtraction of the spectral contribution of the identified products from the product spectra, residual spectra have been obtained. Formation of 2-butene ozonide, propene ozonide, and l-hydroperoxyethyl formate CH3CH(OOH)(SINGLE BOND)O(SINGLE BOND)CH(O) have been identified in the residual spectra. These products have been shown to be formed in the reactions of the Criegee intermediate CH3CHOO with CH3CHO, HCHO, and HCOOH, respectively. We study the potential observation at the LHC of CP-violating effects in stop production and subsequent cascade decays, , , , within the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. We study T-odd asymmetries based on triple products between the different decay products. There may be a large CP asymmetry at the parton level, but there is a significant dilution at the hadronic level after integrating over the parton distribution functions. Consequently, even for scenarios where large CP intrinsic asymmetries are expected, the measurable asymmetry is rather small. High luminosity and precise measurements of masses, branching ratios and CP asymmetries may enable measurements of the CP-violating parameters in cascade decays at the LHC.  相似文献

High-resolution FTIR-isolation spectra of chlorine nitrate in nitrogen and argon matrices have been studied and a full analysis based on planar ClONO2 and known impurities carried out. No evidence for isomers of ClONO2 has been found; if present, their concentrations must be less than 1% of parent ClONO2.  相似文献

The structure of 1,3-dehydro-5-adamantyl cation and its isoelectronic boron analogue 1,3-dehydro-5-boraadamantane as well as some related adamantane systems, hitherto unknown as persistent long-lived species, were investigated by using the density functional theory (DFT) method. (13)C and (11)B NMR chemical shifts of the compounds were also calculated using the IGLO method. Stabilization of the systems due to homoconjugation is discussed.  相似文献
