A polymer-anchored Pd(II) Schiff base complex has been synthesized by reacting a polymeric amine with 2-pyridinecarboxaldehyde
to get the polymer-anchored Schiff base, which was then reacted with palladium acetate. The catalyst was characterized by
physicochemical and spectroscopic methods. It shows excellent catalytic activity in the Sonogashira coupling of phenylacetylene
with aryl halides using triethylamine as a base and copper iodide as a co-catalyst in water under open air at 70 °C. We have
also studied the effects of base and solvent on the coupling reaction. Sonogashira reactions of phenylacetylene with a variety
of functionalized aryl halides were performed under the optimized reaction conditions. This catalyst gives excellent yields
without the use of phosphine ligands. Further experiments showed that the catalyst can be used five times without much loss

A thiosemicarbazone Cu(II) complex anchored to a polystyrene framework has been synthesized and characterized by analytical
and spectroscopic techniques. The complex was found to be a highly active catalyst for the oxidation of various organic substrates
including alkenes and alcohols using H2O2 as oxidant. The reaction conditions were optimized with respect to temperature, solvent, oxidant, catalyst amount, and substrate
to peroxide ratio. The heterogeneous catalyst was reused five times without significant loss of activity. A comparison between

A newly developed, semi-elliptic computational algorithm is employed to predict the transonic flow inside an axisymmetric, convergent-divergent nozzle featuring small wall radius of curvature at the throat. The predictions obtained are compared against flow measurements for this nozzle, which have been reported elsewhere. Good agreement between the corresponding measurements and predictions is revealed, thus validating the computational algorithm and demonstrating its value as a design tool. 相似文献

The properties of gelatin–polyvinyl alcohol (G–PVA) blend films were improved by methyl methacrylate (MMA) and γ irradiation for a practical viewpoint. The films were prepared by the casting method, modified by glycerol and MMA monomer, and their mechanical properties were also studied. The gelatin-based films were successfully prepared using γ irradiation (3.1 kGy) and gelatin: PVA = 97:3 (w/w) as optimized. Tensile properties of the films were studied and thermal properties of the films were characterized by thermogravimetric analysis and dynamic mechanical analysis pointed out that MMA treated both gelatin films, and G–PVA blend films showed less thermal degradation than untreated films. In addition, structural and morphological features of the gelatin-based films were examined by Fourier transform infrared and scanning electron microscopy, respectively. The ultimate results of the present study showed remarkable enhancement in tensile properties (> 40%) and a reduction in elongation at break of the films, thanks to the MMA addition and γ irradiation. 相似文献

A new polymer-anchored Cu(II) complex has been synthesized and characterized. The catalytic performance of the complex has been tested for the oxidation of sulfides and in oxidative bromination reaction with hydrogen peroxide as the oxidant. Sulfides have been selectively oxidized to the corresponding sulfoxides in excellent yields and in the presence of KBr as the bromine source, organic substrates have been selectively converted to mono bromo substituted compounds using polymer-anchored Cu(II) catalyst. This catalyst showed excellent catalytic activity, high selectivity, and recyclability. The polymer-anchored Cu(II) catalyst could be easily recovered by filtration and reused more than five times without appreciable loss of its initial activity. 相似文献

Polymer-anchored azo complexes of Cu(II) and Ni(II) were synthesized by the reaction of chloromethylated polystyrene, 3-aminophenol, and 1-nitroso-2-naphthol with the metal chlorides. The catalytic activities of these complexes were studied in the oxidation of various organic substrates including alkenes, alcohols, alkanes, and sulfides with 30 % aqueous hydrogen peroxide. The structures of both catalysts have been investigated by physiochemical methods. Both catalysts proved to be very stable and could be reused more than five times without significant loss of activity. Furthermore, these catalysts require very mild reaction conditions. 相似文献

During the last two decades, the industry (including scientists) has focused on diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating because of its wide range of application in various fields. This material has numerous applications in mechanical, electrical, tribological, biomedical, and optical fields. Severe friction and wear in some machine parts consumes high amount of energy, which makes the process energy inefficient. Thus, DLC coating can be an effective means to lower the friction and wear rate. Some important process variables that affect the tribological characteristics of DLC coating are adhesion promoter intermediate layer, substrate surface roughness, hydrogen incorporation or hydrogen non involvement, and coating deposition parameters (e.g., bias voltage, etching, current, precursor gas, time, and substrate temperature). Working condition of DLC-coated parts also affects the tribological characteristics, such as temperature, sliding speed and load, relative humidity, counter surface, and lubrication media (DLC additive interaction). Different types of lubricated oils and additives are used in engine parts to minimize friction and wear. DLC can be coated to the respective engine parts; however, DLC does not behave accordingly after coating because of lubricant oil and additive interaction with DLC. Some additive interacts positively and some behave negatively because of the tribochemical reactions between DLC coating and additives. Numerous conflicting views have been presented by several researchers regarding this coating additive interaction, resulting in unclear determination of true mechanism of such interaction. However, lubricant additive has been established to be more inert to DLC coating compared with uncoated metal surface because the additive is fabricated in such a way that it can react with metal surfaces. In this article, the tribological characteristics of different types of DLC coating in dry and lubricated conditions will be presented, and their behavior will be discussed in relation to working condition and processing parameters. 相似文献

Polymer anchored Cu(II) Schiff base complexes have been prepared and characterized by using scanning electron microscope (SEM), elemental analysis, atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), spectrometric methods like diffuse reflectance spectra of solid (DRS) and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). These catalysts show excellent catalytic activity in the O‐arylation reaction of aryl halides with phenol in acetonitrile using Cs2CO3 at 70°C under an open air condition to give diaryl ethers in high yields. The effects of various parameters such as solvent, catalyst from different copper salt and base on the reaction system have been studied. The reaction is applicable to a wide variety of substituted aryl halides and phenols with different steric and electronic properties. These catalysts are recovered by simple filtration and the reusability experiments show that these catalysts can be used five times without much loss in the catalytic activity. 相似文献

A simple and industrially viable protocol for C–N and C–O coupling was reported here. The polymer supported heterogeneous copper catalyst was prepared from chloromethyl polystyrene using a simple procedure. O-Arylation of substituted phenols with various aryl halides was achieved using this copper catalyst in DMSO medium. This heterogeneous copper catalyst, also efficiently works for the N-arylation of N–H heterocycles with aryboronic acids in methanol. This catalyst was also effective in amination reaction of primary amines with aryl halides as well as arylboronic acids in DMSO medium. The effects of solvent, base and temperature for the O-Arylation and amination reactions were reported. Further, the catalyst can be easily recovered quantitatively by simple filtration and reused up to several times without sufficient loss of its catalytic activity. 相似文献
