Content and activity of low-molecular antioxidants in juices of medicinal plants

A comparative quantitative analysis of the overall content of antioxidants in juices from a number of medicinal plants and of their activity is performed using amperometry and voltamperometry. A high degree of correlation between the results obtained by the two methods is observed.     

Modification of commercial oligomers with diphenyldiacetylene and <Emphasis Type="Italic">p</Emphasis>-diethynylbenzene polymers

Diphenyldiacetylene and p-diethynylbenzene homopolymers and copolymers exhibit high resistance to heat and thermal oxidation. Their composites with commercial oligomers were examined.     

Use of N,N-dimethyl-N,N-diallylammonium chloride-maleic acid copolymer for recovery of butadiene-styrene rubber from a latex

The flocculating effect of a cationic polyelectrolyte, N,N-dimethyl-N,N-diallylammonium chloride-maleic acid copolymer, in the recovery of rubber from SKS-30 ARK butadiene-styrene latex at various concentrations of the dispersed phase and H₂SO₄ and at various temperatures was studied.     

Structure and properties of polymeric ethyne-hexacarbonyldicobalt π complexes

A polymeric ethyne-hexacarbonyldicobalt π complex was prepared by the reaction of poly-p-diethynylbenzene with Co₂(CO)₈. The conformations in which the polymer chains can exist and the conformations in which the ?C≡CH and-Ph-groups can form π complexes with Co₂(CO)₈ were revealed by analysis of Stuart-Briegleb molecular models. The IR spectra of the polymeric complexes were analyzed, and their thermal degradation in air was examined.     

Coagulation of Butadiene-Styrene Latex with Poly-N,N-dimethyl-2-hydroxypropylenammonium Chloride

The flocculating performance of a cationic polyelectrolyte, poly-N,N-dimethyl-2-hydroxypropylenammonium chloride, in recovery of butadiene-styrene rubber in the presence of sulfuric acid at various temperatures was studied. The kinetic curves of flocculation of SKS-30 ARK latex at various amounts of the flocculant added were obtained.     

Synthesis and Properties of 2-Vinylphenothiazine Polymers

2-Vinylphenothiazine was prepared, and its polymerization was studied. The possibility of using 2-vinylphenothiazine and its polymer as antioxidant in industrial rubber formulations was examined.     

Separation of Styrene-Butadiene Rubbers from Latexes Using Dimethyldiallylammonium Chloride-SO2 Copolymer

The suitability of N,N-dimethyl-N,N-diallylammonium chloride-SO₂ copolymer as coagulant for isolating rubber from synthetic latexes was investigated.     

Content and activity of low-molecular antioxidants in food and medicinal plants

A quantitative analysis of the total content low-molecular antioxidants in extracts from food and medicinal plants with the help of a method based on the interaction of antioxidants with 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), a stable radical, and of the amperometric method is performed. The results obtained by these two methods exhibit a high correlation (r = 0.96). A comparative analysis of the total content of antioxidants (AOs) in 14 food and medicinal plants and of the activity of these AOs with respect to DPPH was conducted.
