Physicochemical study of binuclear copper(II), oxovanadium(IV), and iron(III) complexes with bis-1′-phthalazinylhydrazone of 2,6-diformyl-4-tert-butylphenol

Binuclear copper(II), oxovanadium(IV), and iron(III) complexes with bis-1′-phthalazinylhydrazone of 2,6-diformyl-4-tert-butylphenol have been prepared. An antiferromegnetic exchange interaction between the paramagnetic centers was found. Redox properties of the complexes were studied by the methods of cyclic and differential pulse voltammetry; the reduction of Cu(II) complexes was shown to proceed in two consecutive one-electron steps.     

Synthesis and magnetic properties of the complex oxide La<Subscript>1.5</Subscript>Sr<Subscript>1.5</Subscript>CuMnO<Subscript>6.67</Subscript>

A new oxide phase, La_1.5Sr_1.5CuMnO_6.67, related to the Ruddlesden-Popper homologous series A _{n + 1}B _n O_{3n + 1} (n = 2) was synthesized. The magnetic susceptibility of the obtained compound obeys the Curie-Weiss law above 114 K. At 14 K, a magnetic anomaly related to the transition to the spin-glass state was detected.

EPR study of quasi-one-dimensional complex oxides A3n + 3mA′nMn3m + nO9m + 6n (A-Sr, Ba; A′-Mg, Zn, Cu)

Exchange interactions in the quasi-one-dimensional complex oxides Sr₄MgMn₂O₉, Ba₆MgMn₄O₁₅, Ba₈MgMn₆O₂₁, and Ba₉ M ₂Mn₅O₂₁ (M-Cu, Zn, Mg) have been studied by electron paramagnetic resonance. The temperature dependence of the spectral parameters showed that the exchange interaction is antiferromagnetic and occurs mainly inside the manganese-containing groups and to a lesser extent between them.     

Synthesis,crystal structure,and luminescence properties of CaY2Ge3O10:Ln3+, Ln = Eu,Tb

The crystal structure and luminescence properties of CaY₂Ge₃O₁₀:Ln³⁺ (Ln = Eu, Tb) germanates synthesized via a conventional solid-state reaction and an ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid complexing process are studied. The CaY_{2 ? x} Ln _x Ge₃O₁₀ (Ln = Eu, Tb; x = 0–1.0, 2.0; Δx = 0.1) solid solutions have a monoclinic structure (space group P2₁/c, Z = 4), in which dopant ions occupy three nonequivalent noncentrosymmetric sites with different Ca²⁺/Ln³⁺ ratios. The effect of the synthesis methods, dopant concentrations, and excitation wavelengths on the luminescence properties of the compounds obtained is determined.     

Phase formation features and magnetic properties of complex oxides in the systems Sr-Co-M-O (M = Zn, Cu)

It was shown that, in the systems Sr-Co-M-O (M=Zn, Cu), the first stage of the crystallization of solid solutions Sr₃Co_{2 ? x} M _x O₆ with a tetragonal structure of the Ruddlesden-Popper type is the formation of quasi-one-dimensional oxides of the family A_3m+3n A _n ′B_3m+n O_9m+6n . The magnetic properties of new compounds, Sr₃Co_1.35Cu_0.65O₆ and Sr₁₄Co_8.4Cu_2.6O₃₃, were measured, and a relationship between the structure and the existence of magnetic ordering at low temperatures was established.
