High-speed Optoelectronic Modules using Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Lasers (VCSEL) coupled to Multi Mode Fibers (MMF) are a performing and low-cost solution for 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10 GbE) in short-distance optical links. A complete model of the spatiotemporal behavior of multimode VCSELs, through static and dynamic response, noise, thermal effects, and its coupling to MMF has been investigated. Relative Intensity Noise shows modal dependence and can be affected by spatial filtering due to coupling and fiber propagation. Simulations permit to evaluate critical parameters, such as modulation formats, launching conditions, and operating temperature for global bandwidth and eye diagram optimization up to 10 Gb/s. Simulation results are compared to measurements on prototype optoelectronic modules.  相似文献

The biopolymer chitosan was chemically modified by grafting polyacrylamide or polyacrylic acid in a homogeneous aqueous phase using potassium persulfate (KPS) as redox initiator system in the presence of N,N-methylene-bis-acrylamide as a crosslinking agent. The influence of the grafted chitosan on calcium salts crystallization in vitro was studied using the sitting-drop method. By using polyacrylamide grafted chitosan as substrate, rosette-like CaSO4 crystals were observed. This was originated by the presence of sulfate coming from the initiator KPS. By comparing crystallization on pure chitosan and on grafted chitosan, a dramatic influence of the grafted polymer on the crystalline habit of both salts was observed. Substrates prepared by combining sulfate with chitosan or sulfate with polyacrylamide did not produce similar CaSO4 morphologies. Moreover, small spheres or donut-shaped CaCO3 crystals on polyacrylic acid grafted chitosan were generated. The particular morphology of CaCO3 crystals depends also on other synthetic parameters such as the molecular weight of the chitosan sample and the KPS concentration.  相似文献

Because of the growing importance of pH‐sensitive hydrogels as drug delivery systems, biocompatible copolymeric hydrogels based N‐vinyl‐2‐pyrrolidinone (NVP) and methacrylic acid (MAA) were designed and synthesized. These hydrogels were investigated for oral drug delivery. Radical copolymerizations of N‐vinyl‐2‐pyrrolidinone (NVP) and methacrylic acid (MAA) with the various ratios of cross‐linking agent were carried out at 70 °C. Azabisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) was the free‐radical initiator employed and Cubane‐1,4‐dicarboxylic acid (CDA) linked to two 2‐hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) group was the crosslinking agent (CA) used for hydrogel preparations. The hydrogels were characterized by differential scanning calorimetry and FT‐IR. Equilibrium swelling studies were carried out in enzyme‐free simulated gastric and intestinal fluids (SGF and SIF, respectively). A model drug, olsalazine [3,3′‐azobis (6‐hydroxy benzoic acid)] (OSZ) as an azo derivative of 5‐aminosalicylic acid (5‐ASA), was entrapped in these gels and the in‐vitro release profiles were established separately in both enzyme‐free SGF and SIF. The drug‐release profiles indicated that the amount of drug released depended on the degree of swelling. The swelling was modulated by the amount of crosslinking of the polymer bonded drug (PBDs) prepared. Based on the great difference in hydrolysis rates at pH 1 and 7.4, these pH‐sensitive hydrogels appear to be good candidates for colon‐specific drug delivery.  相似文献

The absolute stereochemistry of cyanohydrins, derived from ketones and aldehydes, is obtained routinely, in a microscale and derivatization‐free manner, upon their complexation with Zn‐MAPOL, a zincated porphyrin host with a binding pocket comprised of a biphenol core. The host–guest complex leads to observable exciton‐coupled circular dichroism (ECCD), the sign of which is easily correlated to the absolute stereochemistry of the bound cyanohydrin. A working model, based on the ECCD signal of cyanohydrins with known configuration, is proposed.  相似文献

To screen one-bead-one-compound (OBOC) combinatorial bead libraries,(1) one generally uses tagged purified protein as the screening probe. Compound beads that interact with the purified protein are then identified, for example, via an enzyme-linked colorimetric assay, and isolated for structure determination. In this report, we demonstrate a rapid and efficient method to screen OBOC combinatorial libraries utilizing two protein mixtures as screening probes, and by comparing optical images of the beads stained by one protein mixture but not the other, ligand beads unique to one of the two protein mixtures can be identified. The significance of this method is that it allows for rapid selection of ligands directed against proteins unique to one mixture while screening out positive beads resulting from proteins common to both mixtures as well as beads that are positive as a result of interactions with chemical and protein components found in the assay itself. The method is fast, efficient, and uses off-the-shelf equipment.  相似文献

Different orientations of P(O) versus C(O) in P(O)NHC(O) skeleton have been discussed in two new phosphorus(V)-nitrogen compounds with formula XP(O)Y and XP(O)Z2 where X = NHC(O)C6H4(4-F) and Y = NHCH2C(CH3)2CH2NH (1), Z = NHC6H4(4-CH3) (2). Compound 1 is the first example of an aliphatic diazaphosphorinane with a gauche orientation which has been studied by X-ray crystallography; the P=O bond is in the equatorial position of the ring. Both compounds show n J(F,C) and m J(F,H) coupling constants (n = 1, 2, 3 and 4; m = 3 and 4) and 3 J(P,C) > 2 J(P,C). Quantum chemical calculations were performed with HF and Density Functional Theory (DFT) methods using 6−31+G(d,p) basis set. A tentative assignment of the observed vibrational bands for these molecules is discussed. Compound 1 shows a deshielded C atom of the carbonyl moiety (in 13C NMR spectrum) relative to that of 2, which is supported by IR spectroscopy in which the considerably lower C=O frequency is observed for 1. Comparing the X-ray crystallography and IR spectra of 1 and 2 shows that the acyclic compound 2, containing P=O and C=O bonds in an anti position, are involving in a stronger N–H···O=P hydrogen bond in crystal network. This leads to a weaker P=O and NC(O)NHP(O)–H bonds and stronger N···O interaction. The Namide–H is involved in an intramolecular N–H···O hydrogen bond.  相似文献
