Multiphoton decomposition of 1-bromo 2-fluoroethane (CH2BrCH2F, BFE) with a two-color CO2 infrared laser is reported as a function of number of laser pulses. For single color irradiation at a wavelength chosen to excite BFE, the decomposition product, vinyl fluoride, which accumulates during the many-pulse MPD experiment, is found to deactivate BFE decomposition. When a second laser, tuned to a vinyl fluoride absorption is introduced, coincident with the first, the vinyl fluoride is found to activate further BFE decomposition. These results are accounted for in terms of a pressure-dependent model. Changes in model parameters, upon addition of the second laser, are shown to be consistent with interpretations in terms of collision-dependent reaction schemes. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

For a finite-dimensional simple Lie algebra \({\mathfrak{g}}\), we use the vertex tensor category theory of Huang and Lepowsky to identify the category of standard modules for the affine Lie algebra \({{\widehat{\mathfrak{g}}}}\) at a fixed level \({\ell\in\mathbb{N}}\) with a certain tensor category of finite-dimensional \({\mathfrak{g}}\)-modules. More precisely, the category of level ? standard \({{\widehat{\mathfrak{g}}}}\)-modules is the module category for the simple vertex operator algebra \({L_{\widehat{\mathfrak{g}}}(\ell, 0)}\), and as is well known, this category is equivalent as an abelian category to \({\mathbf{D}(\mathfrak{g},\ell)}\), the category of finite-dimensional modules for the Zhu’s algebra \({A{(L_{\widehat{\mathfrak{g}}}(\ell, 0))}}\), which is a quotient of \({U(\mathfrak{g})}\). Our main result is a direct construction using Knizhnik–Zamolodchikov equations of the associativity isomorphisms in \({\mathbf{D}(\mathfrak{g},\ell)}\) induced from the associativity isomorphisms constructed by Huang and Lepowsky in \({{L_{\widehat{\mathfrak{g}}}(\ell, 0) - \mathbf{mod}}}\). This construction shows that \({\mathbf{D}(\mathfrak{g},\ell)}\) is closely related to the Drinfeld category of \({U(\mathfrak{g})}\)[[h]]-modules used by Kazhdan and Lusztig to identify categories of \({{\widehat{\mathfrak{g}}}}\)-modules at irrational and most negative rational levels with categories of quantum group modules.  相似文献

Based on the formalisms of Langmuir and Fowler, theoretical adsorption isotherms are calculated for different bundle geometries of single wall carbon nanotubes in a triangular lattice. The authors show the dependence of the adsorption properties on the nanotube diameter and on the specific morphology of the bundles they constitute. The authors demonstrate how isotherm curve analysis can help to experimentally determine what kinds of tubes form a given bundle and the ratio of open to closed tubes in a sample having undergone a complete or incomplete opening protocol. In spite of the model's simplicity, quite satisfactory agreement is observed between experiments and the authors' calculations.  相似文献

We report on a first study of single walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) after application of dynamic (shock) compression. The experiments were conducted at 19 GPa and 36 GPa in a recovery assembly. For comparison, an experiment at a static pressure of 36 GPa was performed on the material from the same batch in a diamond anvil cell (DAC). After the high pressure treatment the samples were characterized by Raman spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). After exposure to 19 GPa of shock compression the CNT material exhibited substantial structural damage such as CNT wall disruption, opening of the tube along its axis (“unzipping”) and tube shortening (“cutting”). Dynamic compression to 36 GPa resulted in essentially complete CNT destruction whereas at least a fraction of the nanotubes was recovered after 36 GPa of static compression though severely damaged.
