Summary Dependences of rate constants on pressure (up to 1 kbar) and on added salt concentration (up to 6.0 mol dm–3 LiNO3, NaNO3, NaCl, Na2SO4 or KNO3) have been established for dissociative substitution of pentacyanoferrates(II), [Fe(CN)5L]3– with L = 4-cyanopyridine, 4,4-bipyridyl, 4-phenylpyridine and 4-t-butylpyridine. Activation volumes derived directly from pressure effects, and indirectly from salt effects via surface tension dependences and derived surfaces of activation, are reported, compared and discussed.  相似文献

The electrochemiluminescence (ECL) of a luminol derivate (ABEI) generated both by a carbon electrode and a polypyrrole-coated carbon electrode was examined. It was found that the polypyrrole film (ppy) did not inhibit the ECL. After that, ABEI anchored on a single stranded DNA target (ODNt) has been used for the ECL detection of the hybridization between a complementary single stranded DNA probe (ODNp) covalently linked to a polypyrrole support and the ODNt. The ECL detection has been performed using a DNA sensor having a low surface concentration of ODNp probes, constituted of a polypyrrole copolymer electrosynthesized from a pyrrole-ODNp/pyrrole monomer ratio of 1/20,000.  相似文献

When cultured in minimal growth medium, the B38 strain of Bacillus subtilis did not exhibit any antibacterial activity against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) clinical isolate. Coculturing B38 strain with viable MRSA cells weakly increased antibacterial activity production (20 AU/ml). Addition of dead MRSA cells in a B38 culture, increased by 8-fold the B. subtilis strain antibacterial activity reaching 160 AU/ml against MRSA strain. This antibacterial activity recovered from cell-free supernatants was stimulated by an autoinducing compound which is sensitive to the action of proteinase K suggesting a proteinaceous nature. This compound was heat-stable till 80 °C and showed a molecular mass around 20 kDa as determined by SDS-PAGE. These results suggest that the production of antibacterial compounds by B38 strain is dependent on the amount of the autoinducing compound.  相似文献

Capillary electrophoresis (CE) has been the principle system for nucleic acid analysis since the early 1990s due to its inherent advantages such as fast analysis time, high resolution and efficiency, minimal sample requirement, high detection sensitivity, and automation. In the past few decades, microbial community fingerprinting methods such as terminal restriction fragment length polymorphism and single-stranded conformation polymorphism (SSCP) have migrated to CE to utilize its advantages over conventional slab gel electrophoresis. Recently, a gel-based direct rRNA fingerprint method was demonstrated. Different from other existing microbial community characterization approaches, this novel approach is polymerase chain reaction free and capable of providing information on the relative abundance of rRNA from individual phylotypes in low-diversity samples. As a gel-based method, it has a long analysis time and relatively large reagent and sample requirements. Here, we addressed these limitations by transferring the RNA fingerprint approach to the CE platform. Analysis time significantly improved from 24?h to 60?min, and the use of a fluorescently labeled hybridization probe as the detection strategy decreased the sample requirement by ten-fold. The combination of fast analysis time, low sample requirement, and sensitive fluorescence detection makes CE-RNA-SSCP an appealing new approach for characterizing low-diversity microbial communities.  相似文献

B38 bacterial strain, isolated from Tunisian soil showed a strong antimicrobial activity. Based on biochemical characterization and 16S rDNA sequence analysis, B38 strain was identified as Bacillus subtilis. Cell culture supernatant showed antibacterial activity against clinical isolates of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus species and several Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Antifungal activity against phytopathogenic fungi was also observed. Antibacterial activity production started at early exponential growth phase, and maximum activity was reached at the stationary phase. This antibacterial activity was neither affected by proteases, lipase, and organic solvents, nor by surfactants. It was stable over a wide pH range and still active after autoclaving at 121 °C during 20 min. Thin layer chromatography followed by bioautography assay allowed the detection of four active spots with R f values of 0.30, 0.47, 0.70, and 0.82. The single spot with R f 0.30 showed antifungal activity, whereas the spots with R f values of 0.47, 0.70, and 0.82 exhibited antibacterial activity.  相似文献

Sensitive and accurate characterization of films thinner than a few nm used in nanoelectronics represents a challenge for many conventional production metrology tools. With capabilities in the 1010 at/cm2, methods usually dedicated to contamination analysis appear promising, especially Total-reflection X-Ray Fluorescence (TXRF). This study shows that under usual configuration for contamination analysis, with incident angle smaller than the critical angle of the substrate, TXRF signal saturation occurs very rapidly for dense films (below 0.5 nm for HfO2 films on Si wafers using a 9.67 keV excitation at 0.5°). Increasing the incident angle, the range of linear results can be extended, but on the other hand, the TXRF sensitivity is degraded because of a strong increase of the measurement dead time. On HfO2 films grown on Si wafers, an incident angle of 0.32° corresponding to a dead time of 95% was used to achieve linear analysis up to 2 nm. Composition analysis by TXRF, and especially the detection of minor elements into thin films, requires the use of a specific incident angle to optimize sensitivity. Although quantitative analyses might require specific calibration, this work shows on Co–based films that the ratio between minor elements (W, P, Mo) and Co taking into account their relative sensitivity factors is a good direct reading of the composition.  相似文献

In this paper, a relationship is established between three electrophilicity scales, namely, the electrophilicity index defined by Parr, Liu, and von Szentpaly; the electron affinity; and the energy of the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO). Profiles of electrophilicity index and LUMO energies for different kinds of chemical reactions are compared to verify if they remain consistent during a whole chemical process. It appears that the electrophilicity index and the LUMO energies are linearly correlated in almost all the cases. Besides electrophilicity scales, profiles provide valuable information about the charge-transfer stage of a chemical process.  相似文献

Summary The kinetics of formation of the NiII and CoII complexes of pyridine 2-azo-p-dimethylaniline have been studied in aqueous ethylene glycol, aqueous glycerol and in moderate (up to 2.5 mol dm–3) concentrations of NaCl at 298.2K.Mole fractions of 0.24 and 0.12 respectively for ethylene glycol and glycerol effect a lowering of the formation rate constant Kf of Ni(PADA)2+ to about 50% of the value in water. A concentration of 2.0 mol dm–3 NaCl doubles kf for both the Ni and Co complexes. These findings are discussed within the framework of the dissociative interchange mechanism; the possible effects upon each step of the mechanistic pathway are considered.  相似文献
