A spectrophotometric method to determine rhenium(IV) at trace level is based on the extraction of Re(IV)-SCN? complex in sulphuric acid media with N,N′-diphenylbenzamidine(DPBA) in presence of a non-ionic surfactant triton X-100 (TX-100) in chloroform. The complex shows maximum absorbance at 435 nm with amolar absorptivity value of 4.24 × 104 L mol?1 cm?1 at an acidity range 3.5-6.5 M H2SO4. The method followed Beer's Law for the system Re(IV)-SCN?(TX-100)-DPBA upto 4.0 μg Re(IV) mL?1. The detection limit of the method is 5 ppb. None of the tested foreign ions, except molybdenum(VI), interfere with the determination of rhenium. The interference due to molybdenum could effectively be removed by prior precipitation with oxine. The effect of various analytical parameters on the extraction of the metal are discussed.  相似文献

Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) causes high fever, cough, acute respiratory tract infection and multiorgan dysfunction that may eventually lead to the death of the infected individuals. MERS-CoV is thought to be transmitted to humans through dromedary camels. The occurrence of the virus was first reported in the Middle East and it subsequently spread to several parts of the world. Since 2012, about 1368 infections, including ~487 deaths, have been reported worldwide. Notably, the recent human-to-human ‘superspreading'' of MERS-CoV in hospitals in South Korea has raised a major global health concern. The fatality rate in MERS-CoV infection is four times higher compared with that of the closely related severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus infection. Currently, no drug has been clinically approved to control MERS-CoV infection. In this study, we highlight the potential drug targets that can be used to develop anti-MERS-CoV therapeutics.  相似文献

During this work, size fractionation technique “ultra filtration” is used in physical speciation of thorium in organic rich groundwater. Laboratory simulated experiments were carried out to study the physical speciation of thorium in aquatic environment having elevated level of dissolved humus material classified as dissolved organic carbon (DOC). Samples were collected from organic rich environment having DOC in the range of 50–60 µg mL?1. Th(IV) ions are extremely particle reactive having K d value of the order of 105–6, hence to avoid adsorption on suspended particulate matter, spiking of the solution with Th(NO3)4 was carried out in ground water samples after filtering through 450 nm pore size using suction filtration. Particles in dissolved state (colloids) ranging between <450 and >220 nm were separated using suction filtration assembly having a membrane with a pore diameter of 220 nm. Thereafter, solution was sequentially passed through the ultra-filtration membranes having pore diameters of 14 nm [300 k NMWL (nominal molecular weight limit)], 3.1 nm (50 k NMWL), 2.2 nm (30 k NMWL), 1.6 nm (10 k NMWL) and 1.1 nm (0.5 k NMWL) by using “Stirred Ultra-filtration Cells”, operating in concentration mode. Thorium has only one stable oxidation state i.e. IV, under all redox conditions in natural waters and therefore, its speciation is dominated by its interaction with various fractions of DOC. Experimental results show 50–60 % of the spiked Th is in association with fraction enriched with particles of 10 k NMWL (1.6 nm) followed by fraction enriched with particle of 0.5 k NMWL and <220 nm.  相似文献

Convenient and straightforward tetrabutylammonium bromide (TBAB), benzyltrienthylammonium chloride (BTEAC), and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) catalyzed synthesis of 1,4-dihydropyridines (1,4-DHPs) in water was established for the first time. The catalytic potential of phase-transfer catalysts (PTCs) in three different concentrations was envisioned. Aryl aldehydes and hetero aryl aldehydes afforded good yields of 1,4-DHPs in TBAB and BTEAC reactions. In particular, furfuraldehyde and thienyl-2-carbaldehyde produced excellent yields. Isolation of the products through nonchromatographic methods, good to excellent yields, and benign reaction conditions are the major advantages of this protocol.  相似文献

A high effective electron mobility of 33 cm2 V–1 s–1 was achieved in solution‐processed undoped zinc oxide (ZnO) thin films. The introduction of silicon nitride (Si3N4) as growth substrate resulted in a mobility improvement by a factor of 2.5 with respect to the commonly used silicon oxide (SiO2). The solution‐processed ZnO thin films grown on Si3N4, prepared by low‐pressure chemical vapor deposition, revealed bigger grain sizes, lower strain and better crystalline quality in comparison to the films grown on thermal SiO2. These results show that the nucleation and growth mechanisms of solution‐processed films are substrate dependent and affect the final film structure accordingly. The substantial difference in electron mobilities suggests that, in addition to the grain morphology and crystalline structure effects, defect chemistry is a contributing factor that also depends on the particular substrate. In this respect, interface trap densities measured in high‐κ HfO2/ZnO MOSCAPs were about ten times lower in those fabricated on Si3N4 substrates. (© 2014 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH &Co. KGaA, Weinheim)

A novel series of unsymmetrically substituted alkyl/benzyl pyrazolyl barbiturates incorporating highly biologically active pyrazolone and barbiturate moieties was synthesized by four-component reactions of a mixture of ethyl acetoacetate, hydrazine hydrate, aldehydes and barbituric acid/thiobarbituric acid in ethanol without using a catalyst. The photophysical properties of the newly designed alkyl/benzyl pyrazolyl barbiturates were studied, and good quantum yield of some products indicated a definitive scope in the field of biochemical applications. Single-crystal X-ray crystallographic studies revealed that the newly synthesized compounds exist in zwitterionic form. The zwitterionic nature of the new chimera makes them interesting candidates for drug delivery as zwitterionic drugs are known to have highly water soluble properties, specific protein absorption, slow recognition by immune system, slow blood clearance from body and can constantly diffuse and deposit throughout the physiological pH.  相似文献

Amberlyst A21, a neutral ion-exchange resin and a solid base, can catalyze the three-component reaction of aldehyde and malononitrile with various active methylene compounds at room temperature to synthesize a range of pharmaceutically important pyran annulated heterocycles. Use of the solid base could generate a highly green protocol by eliminating chromatographic purification that involves hazardous organic solvents, and facilitate easy recovery and reusability of the catalyst.  相似文献
