Evaluation of different solid electrode systems for detection of zinc, lead, cobalt, and nickel in process water from metallurgical nickel industry with use of differential pulse stripping voltammetry has been performed. Zinc was detected by differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry (DPASV) on a dental amalgam electrode as intermetallic Ni–Zn compound after dilution in ammonium buffer solution. The intermetallic compound was observed at –375 mV, and a linear response was found in the range 0.2–1.2 mg L–1 (r2=0.98) for 60 s deposition time. Simultaneous detection of nickel and cobalt in the low g L–1 range was successfully performed by use of adsorptive cathodic stripping voltammetry (AdCSV) of dimethylglyoxime complexes on a silver–bismuth alloy electrode, and a good correlation was found with corresponding AAS results (r2=0.999 for nickel and 0.965 for cobalt). Analyses of lead in the g L–1 range in nickel-plating solution were performed with good sensitivity and stability by DPASV, using a working electrode of silver together with a glassy carbon counter electrode in samples diluted 1:3 with distilled water and acidified with H2SO4 to pH 2. A new commercial automatic at-line system was tested, and the results were found to be in agreement with an older mercury drop system. The stability of the solid electrode systems was found to be from one to several days without any maintenance needed.  相似文献

The use of the rotating glassy carbon electrode mercury plated in situ for anodic stripping voltammetry has been investigated. The choice of electrode material is discussed. The effect of instrumental parameters on the stripping response for copper, lead and cadmium in sea water is studied, the results being in accordance with the theory of thin film electrodes. The variation in the observed sensitivity for the three metals in sea water is discussed in terms of complex-forming ligands. Lastly the performance of the film electrode is compared to that of the hanging mercury drop electrode.  相似文献

In this Letter, we investigate a class of Hamiltonians which, in addition to the usual center-of-mass momentum conservation, also have center-of-mass position conservation. We find that, regardless of the particle statistics, the energy spectrum is at least q-fold degenerate when the filling factor is p/q, where and are coprime integers. Interestingly, the simplest Hamiltonian respecting this type of symmetry encapsulates two prominent examples of novel states of matter, namely, the fractional quantum Hall liquid and the quantum dimer liquid. We discuss the relevance of this class of Hamiltonian to the search for featureless Mott insulators.  相似文献

We develop a quasi‐two‐level, coarse‐mesh‐free characteristic nonoverlapping domain decomposition method for unsteady‐state convection‐diffusion partial differential equations in multidimensional spaces. The development of the domain decomposition method is carried out by utilizing an additive Schwarz domain decomposition preconditioner, by using an Eulerian‐Lagrangian method for convection‐diffusion equations and by delicately choosing appropriate interface conditions that fully respect and utilize the hyperbolic nature of the governing equations. Parallel methods are usually not applied to the time domain because of the inherit sequentialness of time evolution. But for many evolutionary problems, computer simulation can benefit substantially from time parallelization methods. In this paper, we present several such algorithms that actually exploit the sequential nature of time evolution through a predictor-corrector procedure. This sequentialness ensures convergence of a parallel predictor-corrector scheme within a fixed number of iterations. The performance of these novel algorithms, which are derived from the classical alternating Schwarz method, are illustrated through several numerical examples using the reservoir simulator Athena.

Cytosolic phospholipase A2α (cPLA2α) is the rate-limiting enzyme in releasing arachidonic acid and biosynthesis of its derivative eicosanoids. Thus, the catalytic activity of cPLA2α plays an important role in cellular metabolism in healthy as well as cancer cells. There is mounting evidence suggesting that cPLA2α is an interesting target for cancer treatment; however, it is unclear which cancers are most relevant for further investigation. Here we report the relative expression of cPLA2α in a variety of cancers and cancer cell lines using publicly available datasets. The profiling of a panel of cancer cell lines representing different tissue origins suggests that hematological malignancies are particularly sensitive to the growth inhibitory effect of cPLA2α inhibition. Several hematological cancers and cancer cell lines overexpressed cPLA2α, including multiple myeloma. Multiple myeloma is an incurable hematological cancer of plasma cells in the bone marrow with an emerging requirement of therapeutic approaches. We show here that two cPLA2α inhibitors AVX420 and AVX002, significantly and dose-dependently reduced the viability of multiple myeloma cells and induced apoptosis in vitro. Our findings implicate cPLA2α activity in the survival of multiple myeloma cells and support further studies into cPLA2α as a potential target for treating hematological cancers, including multiple myeloma.  相似文献

The major products formed upon photolysis of ethyl 3-azido-4,6-difluorobenzoate in 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol-d3 has been elucidated by 1H NMR analysis of the product mixture. Among the products formed and structurally elucidated was a hitherto unreported product formed during photolysis of aryl azides, namely azoxybenzene 19. The structural assignments of the major components of the reaction mixture were aided by comparison with 1H NMR data from synthetic reference materials and compound isolation. MS, MS/MS, and HPLC analysis as well as UV spectroscopy was also employed in order to confirm and aid the structural analysis.  相似文献

We consider a single-period multi-location inventory system where inventory choices at each location are centrally coordinated. Transshipments are allowed as recourse actions in order to reduce the cost of shortage or surplus inventory after demands are realized. This problem has not been solved to optimality before for more than two locations with general cost parameters. In this paper we present a simple and intuitive model that enables us to characterize optimal inventory and transshipment policies for three and four locations as well. The insight gained from these analytical results leads us to examine the optimality conditions of a greedy transshipment policy. We show that this policy will be optimal for two and three locations. For the n location model we characterize the necessary and sufficient conditions on the cost structure for which the greedy transshipment policy will be optimal.   相似文献
