ESR study of free radicals formed upon UV irradiation of nitropentafluoroacetone in various solvents

The formation of CF3C(O)CF2N(O.)O2CF2C(O)CF3 free radicals upon the UV irradiation of nitropentafluoroacetone (1) in toluene and mesitylene is established by ESR. The most likely cause of their formation is the one-electron oxidation of the solvents by photoexcited1 followed by decay of the radical anion formed from1 with the expulsion of an NO2 anion and attachment of the radical to a molecule of original1. The irradiation of 1 in triethylsilane results in the elimination of a fluoride ion and fixation of a CF3COCFN(O–)O' radical. UV irradiation of ketone1 in pentane results in the abstraction of a hydrogen atom from the solvent and the formation of a CF3COCF2N(OH)O ' radical.Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk. Giant nonlinear refraction has been experimentally observed in gold island films. The real part of the third-order nonlinear susceptibility χ(3)(ω: ω,-ω, ω) reaches a value of about 10?4 CGS units. The mechanism of nonlinearity of the refractive index can be associated with the resonance enhancement of the factor of the local optical field at the pump wavelength due to the excitation of surface plasmons, as well as with the contribution of the heating of conduction electrons in an ensemble of metal particles. 相似文献

The reaction of selenium dioxide with o-hydroxyacetophenone semicarbazones gives 4-(2-hydroxyaryl)-1,2,3-selenadiazoles which undergo ready decomposition by the action of potassium carbonate to form benzofuran-2-selenolates. The latter can be alkylated with methyl iodide and benzyl chloride and arylated with 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene. Intermediate formation of 2-(o-hydroxyphenyl)ethyneselenolate during decomposition of 1,2,3-selenadiazoles was proved by the isolation of methyl o-methoxyphenylethynyl selenide when the substrate was treated with potassium carbonate in the presence of methyl iodide. 相似文献
