The design and facile conversion of naturally occurring 4-hydroxyproline to all four diastereomers of thymine pyrrolidine PNA monomer, (2R,4S)-adenine, -guanine and -cytosine monomers and their incorporation into duplex forming PNA oligomers is reported. The interesting results of the hybridization studies with complementary DNA/RNA sequences in either parallel or antiparallel orientation reveal the stereochemistry-dependent DNA vs. RNA discriminations and parallel/antiparallel orientation selectivity.  相似文献

The influence of layered double hydroxides (LDHs) on the photooxidation of polypropylene (PP)/LDH nanocomposites was studied under irradiation at long wavelengths (λ > 300 nm, 60 °C and in the presence of oxygen). The influence of hybrid LDHs containing different divalent cations (Mg, Zn or both Mg and Zn) on the photooxidation mechanism of PP and on the rates of oxidation of the matrix was characterised based on infrared analysis. The presence of LDHs modifies the photoproducts accumulating in the PP and the rates of oxidation of PP were changed depending on the divalent cations in the LDH layers. Whereas natural clays, such as montmorillonite (MMt), can lead to a faster degradation of the materials, LDHs (Zn2-Al-DS, for example) appear to have no inductive effect on polymer oxidation.  相似文献

The design and synthesis of novel chiral PNA monomer based on trans-5-aminopipecolic acid is reported. The trans diequatorial disposition of the 1,4 ring substituents in six-membered 5-aminopipecolic acid derivative could be favorable over trans 1,3 axial-equatorial disposition in 4-aminopipecolic acid of PNA. Studies on the synthesis of trans-4/5-aminopipecolyl PNA-eagPNA chimeras and their binding preferences to DNA/RNA in duplex/triplex modes are described.  相似文献

Magnetic materials such as NixZn(1−x)Fe2O4 have resonant frequency in high frequency; therefore, they are more useful especially in microwaves. The NixZn(1−x)Fe2O4 was prepared by the chemical coprecipitation method using citrate precursors, and the fritless thick film was screen printed on alumina substrates. The composition-dependent permeability and permittivity in the high frequency 8–12 GHz are investigated. Using the overlay technique on Ag-thick-film patch antenna, the change in reflectance and transmittance has been measured. The NixZn(1−x)Fe2O4 thick film, when used as overlay on Ag-thick-film patch antenna, changes the resonance characteristics. The changes in resonance frequency, reflectance and transmittance have been used to calculate the permeability and permittivity of the thick film. Zinc-concentration-dependent changes are obtained.  相似文献

The present study is to examine the photo‐stabilization effect of an antioxidant on the photo‐oxidation of ethylene‐propylene‐diene monomer (EPDM)–clay nanocomposites. During the preparation of EPDM–clay nanocomposites via melt processing antioxidants are usually incorporated along with clay, which allows phenolic antioxidant molecules to get adsorbed onto acidic clay platelets and their interaction with metallic impurities reduces the stabilizing efficiency of the antioxidant. The nanocomposites were obtained by solution dispersion followed by melt compounding of EPDM and organophilic montmorillonite (OMMT). The samples were characterized by conventional tools such as X‐ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infra Red (FT‐IR) spectroscopy, and thermo‐gravimetric analysis (TGA). It was found, upon photo‐irradiation (λ > 290 nm) studies by following the changes in functional groups and surface morphology, that photo‐degradation was lowered by the antioxidant and the efficiency of the antioxidant could be improved by initial incorporation of antioxidant in the EPDM matrix. In EPDM–clay nanocomposites, a stabilizing activity of the antioxidant was observed above some threshold concentration of the antioxidant. The relationship between the nanoclay reinforcement and stabilizing efficiency in terms of photo‐oxidation and surface morphology for their applicability are discussed. The photooxidative degradation behavior of polyethylene, its copolymers (propylene/polar monomers) and terpolymers, synthesized by a group 4 catalyst system, has been studied by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and confirmed with scanning elecrton microscopy for morphological changes. The kinetics of photodegradation has also been studied. Surface damage caused by polychromatic (≥290 nm) at 55°C in air is presented in different micrographs. The rate of photodegradation is very fast in terpolymers containing polar monomers as compared with copolymers and polyethylene. Morphological study of these photodegraded samples showed a very good relation with photodegradation results.  相似文献
