1,1,3-Trimethyl-3-phenylindan as a Luminescent Additive to a Plastic Scintillator Based on Poly(methyl Methacrylate)

The luminescence and scintillation properties of poly(methyl methacrylate) containing 1,1,3-trimethyl-3-phenylindan were studied.     

Choline esters of alkylenebisphosphonic acids

The reaction of the acid chlorides of alkylenebisphosphonic acids with ethylene glycol and ethylene chlorohydrin gave ethylene glycol and -chloroethyl esters of alkylenebisphosphonic acids. Influence of Dibenzyl-o-carborane on Radiation Aging of Polymethyl Methacrylate

Radiation aging of polymethyl methacrylate produced in the presence of dibenzyl-o-carborane was studied. The influence of dibenzyl-o-carborane addition on the thermomechanical properties of the resulting polymer was analyzed.     

Phase-transfer catalysis in reactions with the participation of polyvinyl chloride

When polyvinyl chloride is dehydrochlorinated under conditions of phase transfer catalysis, the nature of the interface determines the supramolecular structure of the synthesized polyacetylene, the packing density of crystalline regions in the polyacetylene, and the chemical properties of the polymer. Reaction of triphenyl phosphite ozonide with thioacetals

Kinetic regularities in the reaction of triphenyl phosphite ozonide with several thioacetals in CH₂Cl₂ solution at –15°C have been studied. The consumption rate of ozonides is described by the kinetic equation W=k₀[(C₆H₅O)₃P·O₃]+k₁[(C₆H₅O)₃P·O₃][R₁R₂C(SR₃)₂] Rate constants k₀ and k₁ for the thioacetals: (CH₃H₇S)₂CH₂, (C₆H₅S)₂CH₂, (C₆H₅CH₂S)₂CH, (n=C₁₂H₂₅–S)₂CH₂, (C₃H₇S)₂C(H)CH₃, (C₃H₇S)₂C(H)C₆H₅, (C₃H₇S)₂C(CH₃)C₆H₅ and (C₃H₇S)₂C(H)C₁₀H₉, increases with increasing the electron-donating power of subtituents R_i.

Dissociative electron capture by 1,3-dithiolanes and 1,3-dioxalanes

A study was carried out on dissociative electron capture by 1,3-dithiolanes and 1,3-dioxalanes. The mechanisms for the fragmentation pathways of the negative ions differ significantly between the oxygen- and sulfur-containing compounds. Dissociative electron capture by sulfide,sulfoxide, and sulfone molecules

Conclusions The low energy resonance in the negative ion mass spectra of alkyl vinyl, 2,3-epoxypropyl alkyl, and 2, 3-epithiopropyl alkyl sulfies and their sulfoxide and sulfone analogs is related to electron capture in the ^* orbital of the S-C bond.
