We report on the effect of commercially important polysaccharides (maltodextrins with variable dextrose equivalent (Paselli SA-2, MD-6 and MD-10) on the surface activity at the air–water interface of small-molecule surfactants (sms), possessing different hydrophobic–lipophilic balance ((SSL (Na+), the main component is a sodium salt of stearol–lactoyl lactic acid, and PGE (080), polyglycerol ester of C18 fatty acid), and widely used in food products. A marked change of the surface activity of sms was found in the presence of maltodextrins by tensiometry. The combined data of laser multiangle light scattering and mixing calorimetry have suggested that this result is governed by specific complex formation between maltodextrins and sms in aqueous medium. Measurements have been made of the molar mass, the second virial coefficient and the enthalpy of intermolecular interactions in aqueous solutions. The implication of a degree of polymerization of maltodextrins in this phenomenon was shown. The interrelation between the molecular parameters of the formed complexes and their surface activity at the air–water interface has been revealed and discussed. 相似文献

Structures of six cyclic polysulfides, previously unknown as organic environmental pollutants, were analyzed from a sediment sample from the Eastern Gulf of Finland. The determinations were done by gas chromatography connected to mass spectrometry. High resolution (HRMS) measurements of the isotopic composition of four compounds could be done to confirm their molecular formulae. Total low resolution (LRMS) spectra were used to elucidate structures of all six compounds by thermochemical approach, application of fragmentation rules and by ICLU simulation of the spectra. The compounds were deduced to be (in the order of GC- retention) 1,2,4-trithiacycloheptane, tetrathiacyclopentane, 1,2,4,5-tetrathia-cyclohexane, 1,2,3,4- tetrathiacycloheptane, 1,2,3,4-tetrathiacyclohexane and 1,2,4,6-tetrathiacyclooctane. 相似文献

The oxidation of formic acid and carbon monoxide was studied at a gold electrode by a combination of electrochemistry, in situ surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS), differential electrochemical mass spectrometry, and first-principles DFT calculations. Comparison of the SERS results and the (field-dependent) DFT calculations strongly suggests that the relevant surface-bonded intermediate during oxidation of formic acid on gold is formate HCOO- ad*. Formate reacts to form carbon dioxide via two pathways: at low potentials, with a nearby water to produce carbon dioxide and a hydronium ion; at higher potentials, with surface-bonded hydroxyl (or oxide) to give carbon dioxide and water. In the former pathway, the rate-determining step is probably related to the reaction of surface-bonded formate with water, as measurements of the reaction order imply a surface almost completely saturated with adsorbate. The potential dependence of the rate of the low-potential pathway is presumably governed by the potential dependence of formate coverage. There is no evidence for CO formation on gold during oxidation of formic acid. The oxidation of carbon monoxide must involve the carboxyhydroxyl intermediate, but SERS measurements do not reveal this intermediate during CO oxidation, most likely because of its low surface coverage, as it is formed after the rate-determining step. Based on inconclusive spectroscopic evidence for the formation of surface-bonded OH at potentials substantially below the surface oxidation region, the question whether surface-bonded carbon monoxide reacts with surface hydroxyl or with water to form carboxyhydroxyl and carbon dioxide remains open. The SERS measurements show the existence of both atop and bridge-bonded CO on gold from two distinguishable low-frequency modes that agree very well with DFT calculations. 相似文献

The structure of mono- and di-O-arylmercury-derivatives of quinizarin (1,4-dihydroxy-9, 10-anthraquinone) and anthrarufin (1,5-dihydroxy-9, 10-anthraquinone) and their reactions with Br–, Cl–, OH–, andtBuO– anions in the solid state and in aprotic solvents were examined by vibrational and electron spectroscopy. These reactions result in cleavage of the O-Hg bond. The formation of ions or contact ion pairs depends on the size and nature of the counterion; quinizarin dianions give very strong ion pairs with K+ cations, which do not cleave in DMSO. Four related quaternary compounds containing rare‐earth metals have been synthesized employing the molten flux method and metathesis. The reactions of Eu and Rb2S5 with Si and Ge in evacuated fused silica ampoules at 725 °C for 150 h yielded RbEuSiS4 ( I ) and RbEuGeS4 ( II ), respectively. On the other hand, a reaction between CeCl3 and K4Ge4Se10 at 650 °C for 148 h has yielded KCeGeSe4 ( III ) and KPrSiSe4( IV ) was obtained by the reaction of elemental Pr, Si and Se in KCl flux at 850 °C for 168 h. Crystal data for these compounds are as follows: I , orthorhombic, space group P212121 (#19), a = 6.392(1), b = 6.634(2), c = 17.001(3) Å, α = β = γ = 90°, Z = 4; II , monoclinic, space group P21/m (#11), a = 6.498(2), b = 6.689(3), c = 8.964(3) Å, β = 108.647(6)°, Z = 2; III , monoclinic, space group P21 (#4), a = 6.852(2), b = 7.025(2), c = 9.017(3) Å, β = 108.116(2)°, Z = 2; IV , monoclinic, space group P21 (#4), a = 6.736(2), b = 6.943(2), c = 8.990(1) Å, β = 108.262(2)°, Z = 2. The crystal structures of I ‐ IV contain two‐dimensional corrugated anionic layers of the general formula, [LnEQ4]? Using a mass spectrometric sampling method, we have observed the decomposition of CH4 in an rf plasma usedfor diamond deposition. The gas samples were extracted through an orifice located downstream of the plasma zone and analyzed online. For the experiments a dilute mixture of H2 and CH4 containing 0.1–3% CH4 has been used. CH4 is converted to C2H2 and C2H4 quantitatively. Small amounts of heavier hydrocarbons are formed. A comparison of the experimental results with a recent kinetic model treating a purely thermal environment is made and the differences between our experiment and the model are explained. The role of acetylene as a species formed in an atmosphere rich in atomic hydrogen is proposed. The electron impact dissociation process is suggested as the rare-determining step in the plasma-chemical decomposition of methane. 相似文献
