The radio frequencySR technique developed at TRIUMF was used to measure the temperature dependence of the diamagnetic muon, Mu, and Mu* amplitudes in silicon between 10 K and 500 K. Six samples doped with phosphorus (n-type) and boron (p-type) in the concentration range 1011 to 1015 cm–3 were studied. In pure Si a very good fit over the whole temperature range is obtained from a model that includes the ionization of Mu* and Mu to a bond centered + followed at high temperature by charge exchange involving Mu.  相似文献

It has long been recognized thatLCR could profitably be done with the high intensity surface beam at LAMPF [1]. A spectrometer has been built that is matched to the LAMPF beam characteristics. The polarization information is obtained from a downstream array of counters while side counters, containing no polarization signal, monitor the + beam. Degraders select higher energy e+, thereby reducing rates and required counter segmentation while maintaining information content. We apply a ramped longitudinal field in addition to the static one to average over instabilities in the + beam. This field scan allows direct interpretation of data and does not require a prior estimate of the resonance structure of a sample. Flux coils monitor the applied ramp field and eddy-current induced fields. High average rate (2×107 +/s). good stability, and the versatile field scan permitted useful data to be collected from Cu, Al(Cu), Al, Si(Al), and polycrystalline Si targets.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with distributed null-control of vibrations governed by an abstract wave equation. Based on a method for the exact computation of minimumL 2-norm controls for given time intervals and time-minimal controls which are bounded with respect to theL 2-norm, an approximation method is developed which is based on Galerkin's method ana convergence results are derived.This paper is based on U. Summary Here we present a fully discretized projection method with Fourier series which is based on a modification of the fast Fourier transform. The method is applied to systems of integro-differential equations with the Cauchy kernel, boundary integral equations from the boundary element method and, more generally, to certain elliptic pseudodifferential equations on closed smooth curves. We use Gaussian quadratures on families of equidistant partitions combined with the fast Fourier transform. This yields an extremely accurate and fast numerical scheme. We present complete asymptotic error estimates including the quadrature errors. These are quasioptimal and of exponential order for analytic data. Numerical experiments for a scattering problem, the clamped plate and plane estatostatics confirm the theoretical convergence rates and show high accuracy.  相似文献

Studies of the alpha-effect show increased reactivity of nucleophiles having lone pairs of electrons on atoms neighboring the lone pair involved in reactivity when compared to the basicity of the nucleophiles. Hammett-type plots and Br?nsted-type plots of substituted methylphenyl sulfates vs hydrogen peroxide anions and substituted N-methylbenzohydroxanates (NMBH) with substituted methylarenesulfonates or substituted arenedimethylsulfonium ions have large rho or beta(nuc) values, indicating a putative tightening of the usual S(N)2 transition states (anti-Hammond effect). Electrochemical studies of S(N)2-SET or reactivity indicate that SET character occurs in looser transition states, whereas S(N)2 transition states are associated with greater tightness. The alpha-effects for the series of sulfonium salts in completion reactions for 3-ClNMBH anions and 3-nitrophenolate anions are (log k(alpha)/k(normal)) 1.124 for dimethylphenyl sulfonium, 1.512 for dimethyl-1-naphthyl sulfonium, 1.835 for dimethyl-9-anthracenyl sulfonium, and 1.137 for S-methyldibenzylthiophenium. Correlations of the sizes of alpha-effects with typical SET (or ET) experimental parameters and the inverse dependence of the size of the alpha-effect on electron demand indicate inclusion of SET character in these S(N)2 transition states, vs no (or at least diminished) SET character in normal transition states. This dichotomy of tighter S(N)2 transition states, but looser SET transition states indicated in the alpha-effect, is examined in the present work.  相似文献

The temperature dependence of the electric quadrupole interaction was measured on the 9/2+ isomeric state of67Ge in metallic Zn, Cd, In, and Sn and on the 9/2+ isomeric state of67Zn in Cd metal. For all investigated systems, the temperature dependence reproduces very well aT 1.5-relation. The analysis shows that the strength of the temperature dependence in the pure metals is correlated to 1/(M D 2 ) ( D =Debye-temperature). This favours lattice vibrations as the main component of the temperature dependence of the electric field gradient. The strength of the temperature dependence measured on an impurity atom generally differs from the value of the pure host. Possible explanations for this effect are discussed.  相似文献

An efficient and highly selective procedure for oxidation of sulfides to sulfoxides with N‐bromosuccinimide (NBS) in the presence of hydrated silica gel has been developed. Hydrated silica gel supplies the water necessary for decomposition of the intermediate bromosulfonium salt to the product, allowing the reaction to employ a nonaqueous media. Also, this procedure has increased the scope of the reaction by oxidizing a wider variety of sulfides, which was not possible until now.  相似文献
