Quantum diffusion description of the subbarrier-capture process in heavy-ion reactions

The capture of a projectile nucleus by a target nucleus at bombarding energies below the Coulomb barrier is studied on the basis of the quantum diffusion approach. The results obtained in this way for reactions involving spherical nuclei are in good agreement with available experimental data. It is shown that, beyond the range of nuclear forces, the decrease in the capture cross section as the bombarding energy decreases becomes slower.     

Total and partial capture cross sections in reactions with deformed nuclei at energies near and below the Coulomb barrier

Within the quantum diffusion approach, the capture of a projectile nucleus by a target nucleus is studied at bombarding energies above and below the Coulomb barrier. The effects of deformation of interacting nuclei and neutron transfer between them on the total and partial capture cross sections and the mean angular momentum of the captured system are studied. The results obtained for the ¹⁶O + ¹¹²Cd, ¹⁵²Sm, and ¹⁸⁴W; ¹⁹F +¹⁷⁵Lu; ²⁸Si +^94,100Mo and ¹⁵⁴Sm; ⁴⁰Ca +⁹⁶Zr; ⁴⁸Ca+ ⁹⁰Zr; and ⁶⁴Ni +^58,64Ni, ^92,96Zr, and ¹⁰⁰Mo reactions are in good agreement with available experimental data.     

Study of isotopic chain capture

Isotopic dependences of the capture cross section and the mean and mean-square angular momenta of a captured system in the ¹⁶O, ⁴⁸Ca + ^{196,200,204,208}Pb and ¹⁶O + ^152,154Sm reactions are investigated using the quantum diffusion approach. The obtained results are in good agreement with the existing experimental data.     

Gas-Chromatographic Determination of Organic Compounds in Water with the Use of Supercritical Fluid Extraction

Procedures were developed for the determination of some organic compounds (n-alkanes, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, polychlorinated biphenyls, Cl,P,N-pesticides, phthalic acid esters, chlorophenols, aliphatic acids, and methyl esters of aliphatic acids) in water on the basis of direct supercritical fluid extraction with the subsequent gas-chromatographic analysis of the entire extract without using organic solvents. The detection limits were 10^–11–10^–7% depending on the nature of the analyte.
