Phase equilibria in a system of aqueous arginine with an octane solution of sulfonic acid

The extraction of arginine (Arg) from aqueous salt (0.1 M NaCl) solutions with a sulfo extractant in a wide range of pH values and amino acid concentrations was studied. The 0.1 M solution of dinonylnaphthalenesulfonic acid (HD) in octane was used as an extractant. The degree of extraction was found to be high at pH 0.8–9.0. This can be explained by the effect of additional intermolecular interactions in the extractant phase involving the guanidine group of Arg.     

Extraction of mineral acids with methyltrioctylammonium dinonylnaphthalenesulfonate

The interphase distribution of hydrogen halides (HF, HCl, HBr, and HI) and oxygen-containing acids (H₂SO₄ and HClO₄) in a system with the binary extracting agent methyltrioctylammonium dinonylnaphthalenesulfonate was studied. It was found in the extraction of mineral acids depending on the aqueous acidity, that the distribution ratios of mineral anions B ^m? decreased with pH in accordance of the laws of binary extraction. The extraction isotherms of mineral acids were obtained, and the apparent constants of extraction were calculated.     

C,N-Diarylformamidines as Valuable Building Blocks in the Synthesis of Heterocyclic Compounds

Obtaining highly functionalized heterocyclic structures is an important topic of modern organic synthesis, as it reveals the possibility of constructing more complex systems and therefore, expanding the range of various drugs. Aiming at synthesizing complex molecules from simple and readily available reagents, the modification of C,N-diarylformamidines, well known in medicinal chemistry, is of great interest. This article reviews comprehensively the field of C,N-diarylformamidine chemistry and covers publications on this topic from 1999 to 2022.     

Titanocene Aminocylates

Dicyclopentadienyldithienyltitanium (C₅H₅)₂Ti(C₄H₃S)₂ was reacted with valine, leucine, and isoleucine hydrochlorides to obtain the corresponding titanocene aminoacylates (C₅H₅)₂Ti[OCOCH(NH₃Cl)R]₂.     

Synthesis and structure of aroylamidines and <Emphasis Type="Italic">N</Emphasis>-arylbenzamidines hydrochlorides

Aroylamidines can be obtained as salts in a reaction of the corresponding arylcarbonitriles with anhydrous ethanol in the presence of dry HCl followed by treating intermediate imidoesters with alcoholic solution of ammonia. N-Arylbenzamidines are obtained by reacting benzonitrile with arylamines in the presence of AlCl₃. The structure of arylamines and the reaction conditions significantly affect the yield of the target product, and sometimes the very possibility of its preparation.
