An experimental scheme of the spin detailed balance in polarized neutron transmission through a polarized nuclear target is discussed for the T-violation test. The value of the spin detailed balance is estimated by using the data of the scattering amplitudes. The stability constants of the complexes of cyclophosphate anions and copper(II), cadmium(II) and lead(II) ions were determined by potentiometry with the use of ion-selective electrodes. For each metal ion, the stability constant of the 1:1 complex increases linearly with the charge on the phosphate ion. For the same cyclophosphate ion, the stability constants also increase with increase in the crystal radii of the cation, i.e. in the order: Cu2+ < Cd2+ < Pb2+. These results suggest that the complex formed is a typical outer-sphere type based on electrostatic forces.  相似文献

Background  

The archaeal exosome is formed by a hexameric RNase PH ring and three RNA binding subunits and has been shown to bind and degrade RNA in vitro. Despite extensive studies on the eukaryotic exosome and on the proteins interacting with this complex, little information is yet available on the identification and function of archaeal exosome regulatory factors.  相似文献

The anthracene‐sensitized photodecomposition of diphenyliodonium hexafluorophosphate was studied in an epoxy matrix. From steady‐state photolysis, the generation of protons, which are considered to be the actual initiators of the polymerization of epoxides, was confirmed. In addition, 9‐phenylanthracene was detected as a main product from anthracene. From time‐resolved laser‐flash photolysis, a broad absorption band with a peak at about 500 nm was observed that was thought to be due to the precursor of 9‐phenylanthracene. On the basis of these results, we propose electron transfer from anthracene in the excited singlet state to the diphenyliodonium cation as the initial step of photoacid generation. This process is followed by fast chemical reactions, which generate 9‐phenylanthracene and protons, and back electron transfer from the diphenyliodine radical to the anthracene cation radical. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Hydrogenation of cyclohexene with 0.1 mol% of the (nitrosyl)ruthenium catalyst [CpRu(NO)(C6H5)2] (1; Cp = η5-C5(CH3)5) under 1.0 MPa of H2 in water at 90 °C for 13 h afforded cyclohexane in 94% yield. The nitrosyl-bridged dinuclear complex [CpRu(μ2-NO)2RuCp] (2) and the mononuclear cyclohexene complex [CpRu(NO)(η2-C6H10)] (3), which also serve as catalyst precursors, have been obtained from the reaction mixture. X-ray crystallographic analyses of 2 and 3 have revealed that the bridging nitrosyl ligands in 2 form an almost planar Ru2N2 four-membered ring with the Ru–Ru distance of 2.5366(5) Å, whereas the nitrosyl ligand in 3 is linear. On the other hand, a ruthenium complex without a nitrosyl ligand [CpRu(CH3CN)3][OSO2CF3] proved to be less effective for this hydrogenation.  相似文献

We hypothesize that the energy strategy of a cell is a key factor for determining how, or if, the immune system interacts with that cell. Cells have a limited number of metabolic states, in part, depending on the type of fuels the cell consumes. Cellular fuels include glucose (carbohydrates), lipids (fats), and proteins. We propose that the cell's ability to switch to, and efficiently use, fat for fuel confers immune privilege. Additionally, because uncoupling proteins are involved in the fat burning process and reportedly in protection from free radicals, we hypothesize that uncoupling proteins play an important role in immune privilege. Thus, changes in metabolism (caused by oxidative stresses, fuel availability, age, hormones, radiation, or drugs) will dictate and initiate changes in immune recognition and in the nature of the immune response. This has profound implications for controlling the symptoms of autoimmune diseases, for preventing graft rejection, and for targeting tumor cells for destruction.  相似文献

Ejectile nuclei in the fragmentation of intermediate-energy heavy-ion projectiles were found to be largely spin polarized. The observed polarization as a function of the outgoing momentum was nicely explained by a simple kinematical argument based on the participant-spectator model of projectile fragmentation. The measurements extended to cover several different targets, incident energies, exit channels, and emission angles revealed that substantial polarization shows up widely in projectile fragmentation reactions. Furthermore, this polarization exhibits an interesting behavior which may be interpreted as a manifestation of a gradual change in the deflection angle from positive to negative values as the energy increases and/or the target-Z decreases. The present polarization results also suggests various applications of spin polarized radioactive beams. As the first example of such an application, we present a recent result on theg-factor measurements on neutron-rich nuclei.  相似文献
