The possibility of using a cycloaliphatic amine NC-558 as a curing agent for water-based epoxy compounds was examined. The effect of the component concentrations and temperature on the properties of the films obtained was studied.

     

Complex plasticizing additives for cement mortars

New complex plasticizing additives for mortars based on Portland cement, increasing the mobility of the cement paste and improving some technological properties of the resulting materials, were prepared.     

Synthesis and Properties of Modified Fillers Based on Calcium and Magnesium Carbonates

A possibility of modifying natural carbonate fillers for paint and varnish industry by solutions of salts of some nonferrous metals was studied. Reactions of carbonates with metal ions and physicotechnical properties of the resulting materials were considered.     

Effect of adsorption of nonionic surfactants on the stabilizing ability of latexes in preparation of epoxy emulsions

The effect exerted by adsorption of nonionic surfactants on the stabilizing ability of latexes in preparation of epoxy emulsions and on the structural-rheological properties of these emulsions was examined. The stabilizing effect was attributed to heterostabilization of particles of the mixed dispersed phase and to the strength of the structural framework formed.     

Stability and colloid-chemical properties of latex-stabilized emulsions of epoxy resins in the presence of a nonionic surfactant

The stability of oil-in-water emulsions of ED-20 epoxy-4,4′-isopropylidenediphenol resin was studied in relation to the emulsifier and stabilizer concentrations. The curing kinetics of coatings prepared from this resin was studied.

Sedimentation stability of mixed dispersions of kaolin and synthetic latexes was studied in relation to the chemical nature of the phase boundary, particle size, pH of the dispersion medium, and concentration ratio of components of the dispersed phase.     

Low-temperature preparation and properties of shell filler pigments

The effect of various factors (temperature of drying of the core substance, polymer concentration, concentration of coloring component, mechanical treatment procedures) on the preparation and properties of shell filler pigments was examined.     

Effect of acid additives on the placeability and strength properties of plasticized portland cement systems

Effect of various kinds of acids on the flowability and the flowability preservation time of plasticized cement-sand formulations and on the strength properties of the resulting materials was studied.     

Study of the oxidation process of metallic pigments in the presence of silicone resin under heating

Oxidation of particles of Stapa 4 zinc paste and its composites with Stapa 1515 n. 1 aluminum paste, Silres MSE 100 silicone resin, and microtalc under heating in air was studied by differential-thermal and X-ray phase analyses and electron microscopy. The oxidation of zinc particles starts after a temperature of 330°C is reached, whereas in the presence of Silres MSE 100 resin, the process in which zinc particles are oxidized becomes substantially slower. The oxidation of aluminum particles in the Zn–Al–resin system begins at 560°C. Additional introduction of microtalc shifts the exothermic processes to higher temperatures. A composite was developed for a zinc-aluminum paint to be used to form heat-resistant coatings on metals.     

Anticorrosion primer based on aqueous epoxy emulsion and carbon nanoparticles

In the course of time, metallic structural systems working in corrosive salt media are in decay under their action. The service life of constructions can be made longer by protection with various primer anticorrosion formulations. For this purpose, a new protective material was developed, an epoxy primer based on ED-20 resin emulsified in water, modified with carbon nanoparticles.
