Gas chromatographic analysis of bifunctional amines after derivatization with methyldichlorophosphine and sulfur

Summary A derivatization procedure for the gas chromatographic analysis of bifunctional amines likeβ-adrenergic blocking drugs is described. The method consists of a two-step reaction with methyldichlorophosphine and sulfur in presence of triethylamine to form cyclic methylphosphonothioic derivatives. The properties of these compounds are discussed and the application of the method to the quantitation of ephedrine in human body fluids is presented. Radiation inhibition effects in the coherent-state many-atom Jaynes-Cummings model

Summary Radiation inhibition in the many-atom Jaynes-Cummings model being a consequence of cooperative as well as cavity detuning effects is examined. Numerical solutions for the time evolution of the atomic population inversion exhibiting quasi-stationary behaviour are presented. Furthermore, the cooperative energy shift of these quasi-stationary states is numerically computed by using a special projection operator. The authors of this paper have agreed to not receive the proofs for correction.     

On the defect spectrum of an extension of a Banach space operator

Let T be an operator acting on a Banach space X. We show that between extensions of T to some Banach space Y X which do not increase the defect spectrum (or the spectrum) it is possible to find an extension with the minimal possible defect spectrum.
