Reactivity of sites on Al2O3 surface modified by Ni

It has been established that CO oxidation with excess O₂ on Ni/Al₂O₃ forms an inhomogeneous NiO contact surface that smoothes critical effects in the sharp reactivity change.

Reactions of halogens with N-arylsulfonyl-1,4-benzoquinone monoimines occur with the formation of a halogenonium ion that either transforms into a carbocation where the first halogen atom adds to the carbon in the ortho-position relative to the carbonyl carbon, or the halogenonium ion adds directly the second halogen atom.

Depolymerization of chitin and chitosan in the course of base deacetylation

Depolymerization of chitin and chitosan in the course of deacetylation in an alkaline medium was studied, and the influence exerted on the process by the nature and concentration of the alkali (NaOH, KOH) and salts (NaCl, NaI, KI) was examined.     

Reaction of 2-Tetrafluoropropoxy-5,6-benzo-1,3,2-dioxaphosphorinan-4-one with Pyruvonitrile

The reaction of pyruvonitrile with 2-tetrafluoropropoxy-5,6-benzo-1,3,2-dioxaphosphorinan-4-one results mainly in the enlargement of the starting heteroring to form 4-cyano-4-methyl-2-tetrafluoropropoxy-6,7-benzo-1,3,2⁵-dioxaphosphepin-5-one 2-oxide as a mixture of two diastereomers (14:1) along with minor amounts of 3-cyano-3-methyl-2-tetrafluoropropoxy-6,7-benzo-1,4,2⁵-dioxaphosphepin-5-one 2-oxide.     

Thiapyrylium salts (review)

The literature data touching upon the synthesis of thiapyrylium salts and the stability of the thiapyrylium cation as compared with its isoelectronic analogs, as well as the nucleophilic, oxidation, anion-exchange, and other reactions of the salts with substituted and unsubstituted thiapyrylium cations are examined in this review.     

Effect of the extent of reduction of V2O5 on the adsorption of propylene and the oxidative dehydrogenation of propane to give propylene on V2O5 and V2O5/TiO2-SiO2

An increase in the propylene output in the oxidative dehydration of propane on V₂O₅/TiO₂-SiO₂ was observed after prior reduction of V₂O₅ in the reaction mixture to V₂O₄, which reduces the destructive chemisorption of propylene. Sesquiterpene lactones from Artemisia caucasica

Conclusions 1. Two sesquiterpene lactones have been isolated from the epigeal green part ofArtemisia caucasica Willd.: one with the composition C₁₅H₁₈O₅·H₂O, which has been called grossmisin, and one with the composition C₁₅H₁₈O₅, identified as rutifolin.
