The IR spectra of glasses of the ZnO—SrO—B2O3 system with constant additions of PbO, Al2O3, and Li2O (20 mol. % in sum) were studied. It is established that on replacement of B2O3 by ZnO, the structure of the glasses is characterized by the presence of groupings with the bridge bonds BIII— O—BIII, BIII—O—BIV, BIV—O—BIV and end groups BIII— O; ZnO practically exerts no influence on the coordination transition [BO3] → [BO4]. The deformation behaviour of the soil during dynamic wheel–soil interaction was studied by using the discontinuum modelling technique, distinct or discrete element method (DEM). The simulation model was developed using DEM for two types of soil, soil-A (coarse sand) and soil-B (medium sand). A transparent sided soil bin was used to observe the soil deformation. Three CCD video camera photographic images of the validation experiments were analyzed and compared with the simulation program results.This paper presents the simulation and validation results for two types of soil at three different vertical loadings of 4.9, 9.8 and 14.7 N. Wheel sinkage, vertical and horizontal draft force acting on the rigid wheel and the soil deformation images from the validation experiments were some of the data used to compare the simulation program results with the validation experiments. The simulation program was helpful to understand the complex deformation behaviour of the soils. The simulated results for the deformation behaviour of soil-B showed better correlation with the validation experiments than soil-A. The results obtained have also been compared with the previous work on DEM to explain phenomena such as the high simulated sinkage of the rigid wheel.  相似文献

After outlining an efficient algorithm for designing minimum weight structures for a specified frequency of vibration, the limitations of designing such structures are stressed. It is shown that the amount of material that would be necessary for an optimum bar or a beam of a fixed configuration (length and boundary conditions) to attain an abitrarily prescribed frequency can be disproportionately high, yielding a design that is completely impractical. In some cases there is an upper bound on the maximum frequency that can be attained irrespective of the amount of material used. The effectiveness of configuration changes in conjunction with optimization is emphasized to circumvent this difficulty.  相似文献

Tris-hydroxymethylaminomethane has been demonstrated to be an efficient organocatalyst in diversity-oriented synthesis of medicinally prevalent spirochromenes by one-pot, three-component reactions between isatins, malononitrile, and enolizable CH acids like dimedone, 4-hydroxycoumarin, 4-hydroxy-N-methylquinolin-2-one, or in situ generated 2-methylpyrazolon-2-one. Biodegradability and extremely low cost of the catalyst are the noteworthy features of this chromatography-free protocol.  相似文献

We consider the combinatorial problem of embedding the metric defined by an unweighted graph into the real line, so as to minimize the distortion of the embedding. This problem is inspired by connections to Banach space theory and to computer science. After establishing a framework in which to study line embeddings, we focus on metrics defined by three specific families of trees: complete binary trees, fans, and combs. We construct asymptotically optimal (i.e., distortion‐minimizing) line embeddings for these metrics and prove their optimality via suitable lower bound arguments. It appears that even such specialized metrics require nontrivial constructions and proofs of optimality require sophisticated combinatorial arguments. The combinatorial techniques from our work might prove useful in further algorithmic research on low distortion metric embeddings. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In particular, it is shown that the Edit Distance on {0,1}d has L1 distortion We also give new lower bounds on the L1 distortion of flat tori, quotients of the discrete hypercube under group actions, and the transportation cost (Earthmover) metric.  相似文献

We prove a lower bound of Ω(n4/3 log 1/3n) on the randomized decision tree complexity of any nontrivial monotone n‐vertex graph property, and of any nontrivial monotone bipartite graph property with bipartitions of size n. This improves the previous best bound of Ω(n4/3) due to Hajnal (Combinatorica 11 (1991) 131–143). Our proof works by improving a graph packing lemma used in earlier work, and this improvement in turn stems from a novel probabilistic analysis. Graph packing being a well‐studied subject in its own right, our improved packing lemma and the probabilistic technique used to prove it may be of independent interest. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
