Functionalization of 2,3,4,5-Tetrahydro-1,5-benzodiazepin-2(1 H)-ones by Electrophilic Aromatic Substitution

Highly substituted, novel, 8- and 9-nitro-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1,5-benzodiazepin-2(1H)-ones were obtained by direct nitration of the 7-bromo-5-trifluoroacetyl (or formyl)-substituted tetrahydrobenzodiazepinones. Alkaline and acidic hydrolysis of the novel mononitro derivatives was examined. Semiempirical AM1 calculations of aromatic substituents orientation in the nitration products are presented.     

The effect of dynamical self-orientation and its applicability for identification of natural frequencies

The effect of dynamical self-orientation and its applicability for the identification of natural frequencies of the investigated systems is demonstrated in this paper. Unidirectional vibration exciter is fixed to the investigated systems via a pivot link and can rotate around it. It is shown that the exciter changes its orientation in the steady state motion mode when the frequency of excitation sweeps over the fundamental frequency of the examined system. Approximate analytical analysis of the discrete system illustrates the basic principle of the effect of dynamical self-orientation. Numerical analysis of both the discrete and different continuous elastic systems confirms the applicability of the effect of self-orientation for the identification of natural frequencies.     

Synthesis and antibacterial activity of new <Emphasis Type="Italic">N</Emphasis>-substituted 7-amino-4-methyl-2<Emphasis Type="Italic">H</Emphasis>-chromen-2-ones

N-Substituted 7-amino-4-methyl-2H-chromen-2-ones containing one or two functionalized azole or azine moieties were synthesized. The structures of all synthesized compounds were confirmed by IR, ¹H NMR, and ¹³C NMR spectroscopy. Some of the synthesized compounds exhibited weak antibacterial activity against Rhizobium radiobacter, Escherichia coli, and Xanthomonas campestris.

A new potentially biologically active N‐(4‐chloro/iodophenyl)‐N‐carboxyethyl‐β‐alanine derivatives ( 2 , 2a , 2b , 3 , 3a , 3b , 4 , 4a , 4b , 8 , 8a , 8b , 9 , 9a , 9b ) and products of their cyclization 6 , 6a , 6b , 7 , 7a , 7b , 10 , 10a , 10b , 11 , 11a , 11b were obtained and characterized by the methods of ¹H‐NMR, ¹³C‐NMR, IR, mass spectroscopy, and elemental analysis.     

An Intuitionistic Extension of the Simple WISP Method

In this article, we present a new extension of the Integrated Simple Weighted Sum-Product (WISP) method, adapted for intuitionistic numbers. The extension takes advantage of intuitionistic fuzzy sets for solving complex decision-making problems. The example of contractor selection demonstrates the use of the proposed extension.     

The Bergström–Grigelionis asymptotic expansions

We consider a triangular array of independent identically distributed discrete random variables. We assume that the probability distribution of sums satisfies the necessary and sufficient conditions for the weak convergence to the compound Poisson distribution. The first known result (the case where random variables take only integer values) is due to B. Grigelionis, who estimated the convergence rate to the compound Poisson distribution. We extend the summation of random variables by including the variables taking discrete values and by using the Grigelionis ideas to obtain “lengthy” asymptotic expansions. These expansions are based on the well-known Bergstrom identity [H. Bergstrom, On asymptotic expansions of probability functions, Scand. Actuarial J., 34(1):1–33, 1951].
