Campylobacter, a common poultry intestine commensal, is a well known cause of human gastric illnesses across the globe. Consumption of contaminated poultry meat is a major cause of Campylobacter related infections. In the present study, radiation sensitivity of indigenous strains of C. jejuni and C. coli isolated from poultry was evaluated. The decimal reduction dose (D10) values of different Campylobacter isolates at 0-4 °C in saline and blood broth were in the range of 0.120-0.210 kGy and 0.170-0.234 kGy, respectively. D10 values in chicken meat homogenate for Campylobacter were in the range of 0.110-0.190 kGy. Chicken meat samples were inoculated with C. jejuni and exposed to gamma radiation to study the effectiveness of radiation treatment in elimination of Campylobacter. Radiation treatment with a dose of 1 kGy could achieve complete elimination of 105 CFU of Campylobacter/g in poultry meat samples. No recovery of Campylobacter was observed, even after enrichment and selective plating in 1 kGy treated chicken meat samples stored at 4 °C up to 7 days. Present study shows that irradiation of poultry meat with 1 kGy can ensure safety of poultry meat.  相似文献

The properties of the negative parity states of55Fe and57Fe are investigated in the framework of the intermediate coupling model. In the model, a neutron or a quasineutron is coupled to anharmonic vibrations of the core. Anharmonicities of the vibrations are estimated through the observed properties of the core. Energy levels, spectroscopic factors and electromagnetic properties have been calculated. The results of the present calculations are also compared with available experimental results and other theoretical results. The model reasonably accounts for many of the properties of the low-lying states.  相似文献

The effect of the radiative cooling of electrons on the gravitational collapse of cold dust grains with fluctuating electric charge is investigated. We find that the radiative cooling as well as the charge fluctuations, both, enhance the growth rate of the Jeans instability. However, the Jeans length, which is zero for cold grains and nonradiative plasma, becomes finite in the presence of radiative cooling of electrons and is further enhanced due to charge fluctuations of grains resulting in an increased threshold of the spatial scale for the Jeans instability.  相似文献

In the present research TiO2 modified LaCrO3 nanostructure has been designed by simple sol-gel method. The thick films of TiO2 with different concentrations with LaCrO3 were fabricated by using screen printing methodology. In present study, the structural properties of TiO2 doped LaCrO3 were confirm by using X-ray diffractometer (XRD). While the morphological properties and surface characteristics of fabricated material analyzed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) was utilized for chemical composition of the prepared material. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) confirms the orthorhombic crystal lattice structure and morphology of Ti-doped LaCrO3. While, Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy was used to investigate the M ? O bonding vibrational stretching frequencies of LaCrO3 and TiO2 materials. The zeta potential was recorded for stability of all Ti doped LaCrO3 nanostructures. The Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) was analyzed for surface area and pore diameter parameters of the fabricated materials. The fabricated materials were checked for application as a sensor for different pollutant gases like Ethanol, CO2, NO2, and petrol vapors. The sensor demonstrates the sensitivity for petrol vapors at 150°C for 0.3 M% TiO2 doped LaCrO3. And exceptionally 0.5 M% TiO2 doped LaCrO3 sensor showed better response for CO2. The reproducibility confirms the stability of 0.3 M % TiO2 doped LaCrO3 sensor and 0.5 M % TiO2 doped LaCrO3 sensor. The rapid response and recovery were recorded for both the sensors viz. 0.3 M % and 0.5 M % TiO2 doped LaCrO3.  相似文献

Fly ash collected from an Indian thermal power plant was characterised by scanning electron microscope (SEM)-energy dispersive spectrometer, X-ray diffraction and energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence analysis. The effect of fly ash on the growth and morphology of a metal-tolerant tropical marine yeast, Yarrowia lipolytica NCIM 3589, was studied. The growth of the yeast was unaffected by the presence 0.1, 0.2 or 0.3?% fly ash although the surface-to-volume ratio decreased. The yeast formed biofilms on immobilized fly ash as evidenced by SEM observations. The organism produced citric acid and additional extracellular proteins in the presence of fly ash. Leaching of metals from fly ash by Y. lipolytica was compared with chemical leaching by citric acid. Yeast cells were most effective in leaching Cu (59.41?%) although other metals (Zn, Ni, Cu and Cr) were also extracted. Transmission electron microscope images showed the deposition of metals at the cell wall, cell membrane and in the cytoplasm. This paper thus reports a potential application of Y. lipolytica for removal of different metals from solid waste material (fly ash).  相似文献
