Iron nanoparticles have been successfully synthesized using sodium borohydride solution reduction of ferric trichloride hexahydrate in the presence of montmorillonite as an effective protective reagent and support as well. A combination of characterizations reveals the well disperse of these obtained iron nanoparticles supported on the external surface of clay with roughly spherical morphology and mean diameter of 55 nm. The particles are oxidation resistant well with iron core-iron oxide shell structure. The shell thickness of 3 nm remains almost invariable under ambient conditions. Discernable hysteresis loop reveals ferromagnetic behavior of the iron nanoparticles, which make them easy for magnetic separation and potential in some practical applications. 相似文献

Lead halide perovskite solar cells with planar heterojunction configuration have recently attracted tremendous attention because of their excellent power conversion efficiencies. The modulation of optical absorption by using an optical spacer layer is a unique method to enhance the device efficiency. Here, we demonstrate the application of thin ZnO layer that act as an optical spacer that enhance the power conversion efficiency perovskite devices from 8.92% to 10.7%, which is mainly due to increment in short‐circuit current density by 16% compared to the reference solar cell. The simulation data revealed that ZnO acts as an optical spacer layer that shifts length (average) of electric field |E|2 distribution from 500 nm to 750 nm wavelength is 25 nm in the perovskite layer. Which represents that exciton generation region is moved to near the hole transport layer that enhances the exciton dissociation efficiency and device efficiency. 相似文献

Multimodal imaging is highly desirable for accurate diagnosis because it can provide complementary information from each imaging modality. In this study, a sol-gel reaction of tantalum(V) ethoxide in a microemulsion containing Fe(3)O(4) nanoparticles (NPs) was used to synthesize multifunctional Fe(3)O(4)/TaO(x) core/shell NPs, which were biocompatible and exhibited a prolonged circulation time. When the NPs were intravenously injected, the tumor-associated vessel was observed using computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed the high and low vascular regions of the tumor. 相似文献

Graphene-based nanocomposites are emerging as a new class of materials that hold promise for many applications. In this paper, we present a general approach for the preparation of sandwich-like graphene/ZnO nanocomposites in ethylene glycol (EG) medium using graphene oxide as a precursor of graphene and zinc acetylacetonate as a single-source precursor of zinc oxide. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, ultraviolet-visible (UV-vis) spectroscopy and thermogravimetry analysis. It was shown that the as-formed ZnO nanoparticles with a diameter of about 5 nm were densely and uniformly deposited on both surfaces of the graphene sheets to form a sandwich-like composite structure and as a result, the restacking of the as-reduced graphene sheets was effectively prevented. The ZnO-coated graphene nanocomposites can be expected to effectively improve the photocatalysis and sensing properties of ZnO and would be promising for practical applications in future nanotechnology. 相似文献

Influences of substrate stiffness on mechanical properties of cardiac myocytes and fibroblasts were investigated by cell elasticity measurement with atomic force microscopy. The cells were cultured on collagen-coated polyacrylamide substrates with gradient rigidity. While cardiac myocytes showed no evident change in cell elasticity on different substrates, cardiac fibroblasts displayed the non-monotonic dependence on substrate stiffness with a maximum elastic modulus. Moreover, the elasticity change of cardiac fibroblasts with substrates stiffness was found to be regulated by actin filaments. Study of the effect of substrate stiffness on cell elasticity for different cardiac cells provides new information for the better understanding of cardiac physiology and pathology. 相似文献

Therapeutics that target the virulence of pathogens rather than their viability offer a promising alternative for treating infectious diseases and circumventing antibiotic resistance. In this study, we searched for anti-virulence compounds against Pseudomonas aeruginosa from Chinese herbs and investigated baicalin from Scutellariae radix as such an active anti-virulence compound. The effect of baicalin on a range of important virulence factors in P. aeruginosa was assessed using luxCDABE-based reporters and by phenotypical assays. The molecular mechanism of the virulence inhibition by baicalin was investigated using genetic approaches. The impact of baicalin on P. aeruginosa pathogenicity was evaluated by both in vitro assays and in vivo animal models. The results show that baicalin diminished a plenty of important virulence factors in P. aeruginosa, including the Type III secretion system (T3SS). Baicalin treatment reduced the cellular toxicity of P. aeruginosa on the mammalian cells and attenuated in vivo pathogenicity in a Drosophila melanogaster infection model. In a rat pulmonary infection model, baicalin significantly reduced the severity of lung pathology and accelerated lung bacterial clearance. The PqsR of the Pseudomonas quinolone signal (PQS) system was found to be required for baicalin’s impact on T3SS. These findings indicate that baicalin is a promising therapeutic candidate for treating P. aeruginosa infections. 相似文献
