The composite comprised of zinc oxide quantum dots and poly(amic acid) (PAAc) was prepared and studied by X-rays diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, light scattering, UV absorbance and UV fluorescence. The UV absorbance of the ZnO/PAAc composite was found to be much larger than that of its components taken separately. The fluorescence of the ZnO/PAAc composite was found to be shifted to longer wavelengthes in comparison with pure ZnO. The presence of the dopant dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid was found to affect the observed fluorescence.  相似文献

We describe the synthesis and characterization of three new polymerizable benzophenone derivatives [2‐acryloxy‐5‐methyl benzophenone ( 8 ), 4′‐dimethylamino‐2‐acryloxy‐5‐methyl benzophenone ( 9 ), and 4′‐dimethylamino‐2‐(β‐acryloxyethyl)oxy‐5‐methyl benzophenone ( 10 )]. We show that these monomers can successfully be incorporated into vinyl acetate (VAc) copolymer latex particles. These particles were prepared by semicontinuous emulsion polymerization and mini‐emulsion polymerization of VAc with butylacrylate (BA) for VAc/BA = 4/1 by weight. The two monomers 9 and 10 bearing the 4′‐dimethylamino group satisfy the important spectroscopic criteria required of a dye to serve as an acceptor chromophore for nonradiative energy transfer from phenanthrene (Phe) as the donor. Their UV absorption spectra suggest significant overlap with the emission spectrum of Phe, which can be incorporated into P(VAc‐co‐BA) latex through copolymerization with 9‐acryloxymethyl Phe ( 2 ). In addition, these chromophores provide a window in their absorption spectra for excitation of the Phe chromophore at 300 nm. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The combination of potassium tert-butoxide and triethylsilane is unusual because it generates multiple different types of reactive intermediates simultaneously that provide access to (i) silyl radical reactions, (ii) hydrogen atom transfer reactions to closed shell molecules and to radicals, (iii) electron transfer reductions and (iv) hydride ion chemistry, giving scope for unprecedented outcomes. Until now, reactions with this reagent pair have generally been explained by reference to one of the intermediates, but we now highlight the interplay and competition between them.

The combination of potassium tert-butoxide and triethylsilane provides simultaneous access to multiple reactive intermediates, radicals, H-atom donors, hydride donors and electron donors, giving scope for unprecedented reaction outcomes.  相似文献

This article discusses the effect of increasing mass percentage of nanoclay on the thermal, structural and morphological properties of nanoclay/nylon-6 nanocomposite. Polymerization of ε-caprolactam conducted in the presence of clay resulted in increased d-spacing and expansion of the clay galleries. A combination of differential scanning calorimetry, X-ray diffraction and electron microscopy was used to study the structure–property relationship. The effect of clay on the melting behavior of nylon-6 was studied by using quenched and normally cooled samples. The clay particles acted as external nucleating agents, and a dramatic effect on the crystallization behavior of nylon-6 was observed. The nylon-6 crystals formed are predominantly of the γ-type in the presence of clay. The presence of up to 1 % of clay lead to an increase in the heat of fusion. For nylon-6 samples containing greater than 1 % clay, the heat of fusion decreased significantly.  相似文献

In this paper we describe a new, laser supported, eddy current microscope for the real-time visualization of eddy current distributions. In the experimental set-up, the induction of eddy currents is conventionally performed by an alternating current excitation coil above the object surface. The magnetic field induced by the eddy currents is detected by the use of the Faraday effect. For that purpose, a laser beam is passed through a suitable thin crystal integrated in the excitation coil. The polarization direction of the laser beam is rotated in this thin crystal depending on the local magnetic field. The area distribution of the rotation angle is transformed into a grey value picture using an optical set-up, which comprises a conventional microscope, a lighting technique, an analyzator, and a CCD sensor. By choosing a suitable optic, a real-time measurement of the magnetic field with a high spatial resolution can be carried out. In this paper, the basic physics and the design of the new microscope are described. The initial results of experimental investigations concerning the resolution power of magneto-optic eddy current sensors are presented and compared with conventional eddy current sensors.  相似文献
