The pressure dependence of the experimental 7Li NMR spectra is reported for first stage lithium graphite (LiC6) intercalation compound at temperatures T = 232 and 293 K. This experiment together with the presented point charge model calculation of the 7Li quadrupole coupling constant (e2qQh) allows an unambiguous determination of the sign of e2qQ/h which is negative: e2qQh=-52 kHz at p = 1 bar and T = 232 K. The averaged location of the electrons transferred from the Li intercalant to the graphite layers, as estimated in this study, is in excellent agreement with earlier theoretical energy-band calculations. The compressibility of LiC6 in the c-direction is predicted to be kc = 1.7 × 10-12cm2dyn-1, it agrees with estimates derived from the available phonon dispersion relations.  相似文献

In order to use dualization to study Hilbert functions of artinian level algebras we extend the notion of level sequences and cancellable sequences, introduced by Geramita and Lorenzini, to include Hilbert functions of certain artinian modules. As in the case of algebras a level sequence is cancellable, but now by dualization its reverse is also cancellable which gives a new condition on level sequences. We also give a characterization of the cancellable sequences involving Macaulay representations.  相似文献

This paper introduces a method of combining open and closed microchannels in a single component in a novel way which couples the benefits of both open and closed microfluidic systems and introduces interesting on-chip microfluidic behaviour. Fluid behaviour in such a component, based on continuous pressure driven flow and surface tension, is discussed in terms of cross sectional flow behaviour, robustness, flow-pressure performance, and its application to microfluidic interfacing. The closed-open-closed microchannel possesses the versatility of upstream and downstream closed microfluidics along with open fluidic direct access. The device has the advantage of eliminating gas bubbles present upstream when these enter the open channel section. The unique behaviour of this device opens the door to applications including direct liquid sample interfacing without the need for additional and bulky sample tubing.  相似文献

In this communication we describe the electrochemical synthesis of poly(2,5-dicyano-p-phenylenevinylene) (DCNPPV) polymer films on indium tin oxide substrates. We investigate the purity, morphology, absorption and emission properties of the film. The purity was checked by infrared spectroscopy. The film formed presented spectroscopic purity equivalent to the chemically prepared PPV that was dialyzed for one week. Scanning electron microscopy of the surface revealed a grain-like morphology. The absorption and emission spectra showed absorption and emission bands at 420 nm and 575 nm, respectively, with the absorption onset at 422 nm, which corresponds to an energy gap of 2.25 eV. The electrochemical determination of the energy gap gives 2.05 eV, thus quite close to the optical energy gap at the onset of absorption. The EA and IP were determined by electrochemical measurements and are 3.46 eV and 5.51 eV, respectively.

A laser-induced fluorescence in graphite furnace (LIF-GF) set-up has been equipped with an intensified CCD detector (ICCD) that enables simultaneous multichannel detection of large wavelength regions. The main advantages of such a system in comparison with conventional photomultiplier detection are: simultaneous detection of several fluorescence wavelengths for easy characterization of excitation and fluorescence spectra and for an increase of the absolute sensitivity and spectral selectivity; simultaneous monitoring of background signals, such as those due to matrix interferences, blackbody radiation and scattered laser light; decrease of the susceptibility to radio-frequency pick-ups emitted from the pump laser due to the delayed read-out procedure; time-resolved studies of fluorescence spectra for improved elemental selectivity or for studies of atomization processes, and a possibility to perform two-dimensional imaging of height distributions of atomization and, in combination with an imaging spectrometer, diffusion processes in the furnace. The first work on LIF-GF with ICCD detection has been performed on Ni. The most sensitive and versatile excitation and detection wavelengths have been identified. Detection limits in water solutions by the LIF-GF technique have been improved by two orders of magnitude and are found to be 0.015 pg with ICCD and 0.01 pg using a photomultiplier at the most sensitive excitation and detection wavelengths. Nickel in concentrations has been detected in aqueous standard reference samples with sodium concentrations ranging from to % (riverine water and estuarine water) with good accuracy and precision. The Ni contents of standard riverine and estuarine water were determined to 1.00 ± 0.11 and 0.75 ± 0.07 ng/ml, respectively. The certified concentrations are 1.03 ± 0.10 and 0.743 ± 0.078 .  相似文献

The extended Koopmans’ theorem is related to Fukui function, which measures the change in electron density that accompanies electron attachment and removal. Two approaches are used, one based on the extended Koopmans’ theorem differential equation and the other based directly on the expression of the ionized wave function from the extended Koopmans’ theorem. It is observed that the Fukui function for electron removal can be modeled as the square of the first Dyson orbital, plus corrections. The possibility of useful generalizations to the extended Koopmans’ theorem is considered; some of these extensions give approximations, or even exact expressions, for the Fukui function for electron attachment.  相似文献

The catalytic process of photoinduced hydrogen generation via the reduction of water has been investigated. The use of parallel synthetic techniques has facilitated the synthesis of a 32 member library of heteroleptic iridium complexes that was screened, using high-throughput photophysical techniques, to identify six potential photosensitizers for use in catalytic photoinduced hydrogen production. A Pd/Ni thin film hydrogen selective sensor allowed for rapid quantification of hydrogen produced via illumination of aqueous systems of the photosensitizer, tris(2,2'-dipyridyl)dichlorocobalt ([Co(bpy)(3)]Cl(2)), and triethanolamine (a sacrificial reductant) with ultra-bright light emitting diodes (LEDs). The use of an 8-well parallel photoreactor expedited the investigation of the hydrogen evolution process and facilitated mechanistic studies. All six compounds investigated produced considerably more hydrogen than commonly utilized photosensitizers and had relative quantum efficiencies of hydrogen production up to 37 times greater than that of Ru(bpy)(3)(2+).  相似文献

An air-sampling method employing denuders coated inside with a chemisorptive stationary phase has been evaluated for analysis of the hazardous gaseous 2,4 and 2,6 isomers of toluene diisocyanate (TDI). The denuder stationary phase consisted of polydimethylsiloxane (SE-30) to which dibutylamine (DBA) was added as a reagent for derivatization of TDI. The accuracy and precision of sampling by means of denuders were shown to differ only slightly from those of the established impinger method. The denuder method was, however, also shown to be suitable for long-term measurements (up to 8 h). The limit of determination (LOD) of the method, including LC-APCI-MS-MS analysis, was found to be 1.9 microg m(-3) and 1.2 microg m(-3) for 2,4- and 2,6-TDI, respectively, for short-term measurements (15 min). Significant lower LOD was obtained for long-term measurements. This is well below the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 8-h TWA (time-weighted average) exposure limit, which is 40 microg m(-3) for the sum of the TDI isomers. The denuder method was also found to be robust and easy to handle. The samplers can be prepared several days before sampling with no loss in performance. The contents of denuders should, on the other hand, be extracted immediately after sampling to prevent degradation of the isocyanate derivatives formed.  相似文献

The influence of hydrolyzable metal ions (Mn(II) and Ca(II)) adsorption on the surface chemistry, particle interactions, flocculation, and dewatering behavior of kaolinite dispersions has been investigated at pH 7.5 and 10.5. Metal ion adsorption was strongly cation type- and pH-dependent and significantly influenced the zeta potential, anionic polyacrylamide-acrylate flocculant (PAM) adsorption, shear yield stress, settling rate, and consolidation of kaolinite slurries. The presence of Mn(II) and Ca(II) ions alone led to a systematic reduction in zeta potential due to specific adsorption of positively charged metal ion-based hydrolysis products at the kaolinite-water interface. Metal ion-mediated zeta potential changes were reflected by lower dispersion shear yield stresses and improved clarification (higher settling rates) but had no detectable effect on dispersion consolidation. The adsorption of PAM was significantly improved by prior addition of the metal ions. In the presence of Mn(II) or Ca(II) ions, the flocculant adsorption density was enhanced at pH 7.5 for Mn(II) and pH 10.5 for Ca(II). Optimum flocculation conditions, involving partial rather than complete particle surface coverage by both metal ions and flocculant, were identified. As a consequence, the metal ions and flocculant acted synergistically to enhance dewatering, producing particle interactions that were more conducive to high settling rates and greater consolidation of kaolinite dispersions at pH 7.5 than 10.5.  相似文献
