A detailed investigation on the effect of solvent polarity, temperature, and microwave irradiation on periselectivity in cycloaddition reactions of pentafulvenes with 3-oxidopyrylium betaine is described. The base catalyzed generation of 3-oxidopyrylium betaine in CHCl3 resulted in the exclusive formation of [6+3] adducts. With increase in solvent polarity and temperature, mixtures of [6+3] and [3+2] adducts were formed, where as under microwave irradiation, [3+2] adducts were formed exclusively. The experimental results have been rationalized on the basis of theoretical calculations.  相似文献

Using a small-core single-mode fiber (SCSMF), a novel relative humidity (RH) sensor based on an SMF28-SCSMF-SMF28 fiber structure was proposed in this paper. By depositing a humidity sensitive material, such as poly (ethylene oxide) (PEO) on the bare SCSMF fiber, the proposed structure can act as an RH sensor with high sensitivity. Experiments demonstrated that the proposed RH sensor with PEO coating can achieve a sensitivity of 430 nm per relative humidity unit (RHU) in the RH range from 80% to 83% RH and a sensitivity of 50 nm per RHU in the RH range from 83% to 95% RH.  相似文献

We present atomic-scale friction force measurements that strongly suggest that the capillary condensation of water between a tungsten tip and a graphite surface leads to the formation of ice at room temperature. This phenomenon increases the friction force, introduces a short-term memory in the form of an elastic response against shearing, and allows us to "write" a temporary line of ice on a hydrophobic surface. Rearrangements of the condensate are shown to take place on a surprisingly slow time scale of seconds.  相似文献

A highly sensitive all-fiber humidity sensor is demonstrated. The sensor behaves as a humidity dependent optical switch between 85% and 90% RH. This sensor also offers the advantages of simple structure and low cost and its response is fast and reversible in nature. The typical humidity response of the sensor is suitable for using it as a human breath rate monitor.  相似文献

The composition of dissolved organic matter (DOM) in a soil is the product of a variety of soil processes. Changes in the composition of DOM in water discharged from soil should, therefore, give an important insight into modifications in these soil processes. We hypothesise that these processes in soils, under different grassland management regimes, would be affected to different extents by the short-term disturbance of a storm event and that evidence of this could be detected in delta(13)C and delta(15)N signatures in drainage and surface runoff waters. During a storm event we collected discharge waters from 1 ha grassland lysimeters, with or without artificial drainage, which received contrasting fertiliser inputs, and delta(13)C and delta(15)N signatures were determined. Changes in (13)C enrichment during the storm event were clearly identifiable, as were differences between plots for (13)C and (15)N, illustrating that this technique has potential to be a useful tool for identifying and investigating short- and long-term changes in soil organic matter dynamics. The behavior of water under extreme confinement and, in particular, the lubrication properties under such conditions are subjects of long-standing controversy. Using a dedicated, high-resolution friction force microscope, scanning a sharp tungsten tip over a graphite surface, we demonstrate that water nucleating between the tip and the surface due to capillary condensation rapidly transforms into crystalline ice at room temperature. At ultralow scan speeds and modest relative humidities, we observe that the tip exhibits stick-slip motion with a period of 0.38+/-0.03 nm, very different from the graphite lattice. We interpret this as the consequence of the repeated sequence of shear-induced fracture and healing of the crystalline condensate. This phenomenon causes a significant increase of the friction force and introduces relaxation time scales of seconds for the rearrangements after shearing.  相似文献

In order to study the effect of substitution of Fe3+ by Al3+ and Cr3+ in Li0.5Fe2.5O4 on its structural and magnetic properties, the spinel system Li0.5Al x Cr x Fe2.5?2x O4 (x=0.0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6 and 0.8) has been characterized by X-ray diffraction, high field magnetization, low field ac susceptibility and 57Fe Mossbauer spectroscopy. Contrary to the earlier reports, about 50% of Al3+ is found to occupy the tetrahedral sites. The system exhibits canted spin structure and a central paramagnetic doublet was found superimposed on magnetic sextet in the Mössbauer spectra (x>0.5).  相似文献

Sesbania cell cultures grown in the presence of different concentrations of Pb (0-1000 mg/L) and Cu (0-500 mg/L) were assayed for growth, metal accumulations and activities of antioxidative enzymes: superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT) and guaiacol peroxidase (GPX). These cultures tolerated Pb up to a concentration of 500 mg/L, registering a fresh weight growth of 500% in 3 weeks. At the same time, cultures registered a growth of 200% in 3 weeks at a Cu concentration of 100 mg/L showing less tolerance than Pb. However, Sesbania cells accumulated more Cu than Pb, as determined by ICP-MS, at all the treatments tested. Cu accumulation reached 3000 mg/kg (dry weight) at a Cu treatment of 100 mg/L, while Pb accumulation was only over 150 mg/kg (dry weight) at 500 mg Pb/L. Metal accumulations were positively correlated with induction of SOD and CAT activities in both the metal treatments. SOD activity of callus was 105 U/mg (fresh weight) at a Pb treatment of 500 mg/L and the corresponding Pb accumulation of 160 mg/kg (dry weight), while the activity rose to 300 U/mg (fresh weight) at a Cu treatment of 100 mg/L and the corresponding Cu accumulation of 3000 mg/kg (dry weight). The pattern of GPX activities was, however, different, particularly in Pb treatments where activities declined with increasing concentrations of Pb in the cells as well as growth medium. This study shows how Sesbania cells withstand heavy metal stress by induction of antioxidative enzyme activities.  相似文献

The enhanced electron field emission (EFE) properties of high aspect ratio, vertically aligned SiNW-ZnO core-shell arrays are presented. These core-shell arrays are prepared by a thin, controlled, highly crystalline and conformal coating of zinc oxide as shell using the plasma assisted-atomic layer deposition (PA-ALD) route on vertically aligned silicon nanowire arrays core. The core-shell nanostuctures are confirmed by HRTEM imaging along with the individual elemental mapping demonstrating the conformal deposition of 10 nm ZnO on the SiNWs. EFE properties of va-SiNW-ZnO core-shell arrays showed a high emission current density of 51 μA cm(-2) and a low turn on field of 7.6 V μm(-1) (defined at a current density of 1 μA cm(-2)) compared to the 3.2 μA cm(-2) emission current density and 9.1 V μm(-1) turn on field for SiNWs. The field enhancement factor (β) of 4227 for the devices demonstrates that these core-shell nanowire arrays are excellent field-emitters. Such an enhancement in the field emission originates from the details of the band structure of this peculiar material combination resulting in good electron transport from SiNW to ZnO as evident from the band diagram of the core-shell material. This is further supported by the conducting AFM studies where lowering in threshold voltage by 1 eV confirms the role of ZnO coating in the enhancement of the emission characteristics.  相似文献
