Electron diffraction investigation of PPTA/nylon 3T blends from shear-oriented anisotropic solutions
Nematic solutions of PPTA and nylon 3T were prepared in H2SO4 Optical microscopy was used to ascertain the phase behaviour of the blends. In the studied concentration range, no phase separation was observed. The solutions were shear-oriented and coagulated, and the resulting samples were studied by x-ray and electron diffraction. Nylon 3T crystallised even at a low concentration, which is indicative of a phase separation. Electron diffraction investigations of the oriented samples showed that well-oriented areas, which were predominantly composed of PPTA, adjoined areas where the major component, nylon 3T, showed no orientation. The relative proportion of the unoriented areas increased with increasing nylon concentration. It was concluded that, upon coagulation, the nylon was segregated into separate phases and crystallised unoriented, whereas for PPTA, crystallisation proceeded with very little chain rearrangement therefore preserving the orientation. 相似文献

The cross section for coherent production of a single π? meson in charged current antineutrino interactions on neon nuclei has been measured in BEBC to be (175±25) 10?40 cm2/neon nucleus, averaged over the energy spectrum of the antineutrino wide band beam at the CERN SPS; this corresponds to (0.9±0.1) % of the total charged current \(\bar v_\mu \) cross section. The distributions of kinematical variables are in agreement with theoretical predictions based on the PCAC hypothesis and the meson dominance model; in particular, theQ 2 dependence is well described by a propagator containing a massm=(1.35±0.18) GeV. The absolute value of the cross section is also in agreement with the model. This analysis thus provides a test of the PCAC hypothesis in the antineutrino energy range 5–150 GeV. 相似文献

A higher-throughput bioanalytical method based on fast-gradient (1 min run time) high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) coupled with tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) was developed for screen-type analyses of plasma samples from early drug discovery studies in support of exploratory pharmacodynamic studies. The HPLC system equipped with minibore column was interfaced with either atmospheric pressure chemical ionization (APCI) or electrospray (ESI) ionization techniques. The matrix ion suppression effect of both quantitative HPLC/MS/MS analyses was compared using the post-column infusion system. The use of the described methods provided advantages such as a shorter chromatographic region of ion suppression, less solvent consumption and shorter run times in comparison with standard analytical column HPLC/MS/MS methods. The analytical results obtained by both HPLC/MS/MS methods were in good agreement (within 15% of error) and displayed a good correlation with the pharmacodynamic outcome. 相似文献

Poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) is frequently used to coat various medical nanoparticles (NPs). As PEG is known to minimize NP interactions with biological specimens, the question remains whether PEGylated NPs are intrinsically less toxic or whether this is caused by reduced NP uptake. In the present work, the effect of gold NP PEGylation on uptake by three cell types is compared and evaluated the effect on cell viability, oxidative stress, cell morphology, and functionality using a multiparametric methodology. The data reveal that PEGylation affects cellular NP uptake in a cell‐type‐dependent manner and influences toxicity by different mechanisms. At similar intracellular NP numbers, PEGylated NPs are found to yield higher levels of cell death, mostly by induction of oxidative stress. These findings reveal that PEGylation significantly reduces NP uptake, but that at similar functional (= cell‐associated) NP levels, non‐PEGylated NPs are better tolerated by the cells. 相似文献

This paper presents a theoretical formulation in which the stream-tube method (STM) is examined through a variational approach for solving solid strain and fluid flow problems with finite elements. The analysis considers a reference domain, used as computational domain, related to the physical domain by an unknown transformation function to be determined numerically. Mass conservation is automatically verified by STM. The variational approach leads to eliminate the pressure in fluid problems and avoids to set up a mixed displacement–pressure procedure in the case of incompressible solids. We have fully analysed all events with a single electron obtained in an exposure of BEBC to the 350 GeV wide-band neutrino beam at CERN. The data agrees well with expectations based on the calculated νe flux and assuming μ?e universality. Using both the rate and the kinematic distributions, improved limits are set on νe → νX, νμ → νe, νμ → ντ mixing. 相似文献
