The interaction of oxygen molecules with a fullerene surface has been studied using high resolution electron energy loss spectroscopy and temperature programmed desorption. Vibrational excitation of the adsorbed oxygen is observed at 190 meV, an energy value comparable with that for molecular oxygen in the gas phase. We take this to indicate physisorption of molecular oxygen on the C(60) surface. Thermal desorption results also show that the bonding of oxygen molecules to the C(60) overlayer is comparable to that on a graphite surface. A detailed study of the energy dependence of the vibrational excitation reveals an inelastic electron resonance scattering process. The angular dependence of the resonant vibrational excitation exhibits features distinctively different from those for molecular oxygen physisorbed on the related graphite surface, at a comparable coverage. One possible reason is that the corrugated surface potential, due to the curvature of the C(60) molecules, promotes the preferential ordering of the physisorbed oxygen molecules perpendicular to the surface plane of the C(60) overlayer. 相似文献

By using a modified ion trap mass spectrometer, resolution in excess of 30,000 (FWHM) at m I z 502 is demonstrated. The method of increasing resolution in the ion trap mass spectrometer operated in the mass-selective instability mode depends on decreasing the rate of scanning the primary radio frequency amplitude as well as using resonance ejection at the appropriate frequency and amplitude. Clinical engineering departments in hospitals are responsible for establishing and regulating a Medical Equipment Management Program to ensure that medical devices are safe and reliable. In order to mitigate functional failures, significant and critical devices should be identified and prioritized. In this paper, we present a multi-criteria decision-making model to prioritize medical devices according to their criticality. Devices with lower criticality scores can be assigned a lower priority in a maintenance management program. However, those with higher scores should be investigated in detail to find the reasons for their higher criticality, and appropriate actions, such as ‘preventive maintenance’, ‘user training’, ‘redesigning the device’, etc, should be taken. In this paper,we also describe how individual score values obtained for each criterion can be used to establish guidelines for appropriate maintenance strategies for different classes of devices. The information of 26 different medical devices is extracted from a hospital's maintenance management system to illustrate an application of the proposed model. 相似文献

The problem is related to a fleet of military aircraft with a certain flying program in which the availability of the aircraft
sufficient to meet the flying program is a challenging issue. During the pre- or after-flight inspections, some component
failures of the aircraft may be found. In such cases, the aircraft are sent to the repair shop to be scheduled for maintenance
jobs, consisting of failure repairs or preventive maintenance tasks. The objective is to schedule the jobs in such a way that
sufficient number of aircrafts is available for the next flight programs. The main resource, as well as the main constraint,
in the shop is skilled-workforce. The problem is formulated as a mixed-integer mathematical programming model in which the
network flow structure is used to simulate the flow of aircraft between missions, hanger and repair shop. The proposed model
is solved using the classical Branch-and-Bound method and its performance is verified and analyzed in terms of a number of

A general model is considered which incorporates imperfect repair and repair cost which depends on time and on the number of repairs in the cycle. This model is an extension of models examined previously in the literature. The objective of this paper is to find the optimal replacement policy and compare it with the replacement policies considered earlier for some variants of this model. The form of the optimal replacement policy is found in the general case and the expected average cost per unit time is derived in two special cases. Numerical examples show that the optimal policy is considerably better than the optimal periodic policy. This paper generalizes and unifies previous research in the area. 相似文献

In this paper, we will present a new finite horizon repair/replacement decision model and derive the structure of the optimal policy for components that have a failure intensity that is a non-decreasing function of the number of times the component has been repaired, and independent of the component's age. Furthermore, the component has physical restrictions on the number of times it can be repaired, after which the only feasible decision is to replace the component. The fundamentals of this new decision model are based on the outcomes of several case studies done by the authors. Besides presenting the model and showing the structure of the optimal policy, the model will be applied to a real industry data set, and its results discussed. 相似文献
