A cellulose filter for water disinfection was developed using a polycarboxylic acid and an aromatic amine via a simple process with water as a solvent. 1,2,3,4-Butanetetracarboxylic acid/m-phenylenediamine solution was applied to cellulose filters using a pad–dry–curing process. The surfaces of treated cellulose filters were examined by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The liquid permeabilities of treated cellulose filters were determined by capillary flow porometry, and their water disinfection efficacies were measured by non-pressure-driven filtration. Chlorinated cellulose filters disinfected Escherichia coli- and Staphylococcus aureus-containing solutions to a much higher degree than observed for nonchlorinated cellulose filters.  相似文献

Confinement-imposed photophysics was probed for novel stimuli-responsive hydrazone-based compounds demonstrating a conceptual difference in their behavior within 2D versus 3D porous matrices for the first time. The challenges associated with photoswitch isomerization arising from host interactions with photochromic compounds in 2D scaffolds could be overcome in 3D materials. Solution-like photoisomerization rate constants were realized for sterically demanding hydrazone derivatives in the solid state through their coordinative immobilization in 3D scaffolds. According to steady-state and time-resolved photophysical measurements and theoretical modeling, this approach provides access to hydrazone-based materials with fast photoisomerization kinetics in the solid state. Fast isomerization of integrated hydrazone derivatives allows for probing and tailoring resonance energy transfer (ET) processes as a function of excitation wavelength, providing a novel pathway for ET modulation.  相似文献

A few metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), which typically use strong acids as proton sources, display superprotonic conductivity (≈10−1 S cm−1); however, they are rare due to the instability of MOFs in highly acidic conditions. For the first time, we report superprotonic conductivity using a moderately acidic guest, zwitterionic sulfamic acid (HSA), which is encapsulated in MOF-808 and MIL-101. HSA acts not only as a proton source but also as a proton-conducting medium due to its extensive hydrogen bonding ability and zwitterion effect. A new sustained concentration gradient method results in higher HSA encapsulation compared to conventional methods, producing 10HSA@MOF-808-(bSA)2 and 8HSA@MIL-101. These MOFs show impressive superprotonic conductivity of 2.47×10−1 and 3.06×10−1 S cm−1, respectively, at 85 °C and 98 % relative humidity, and maintain stability for 7 days.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce the notion of generalized spherical Aluthge transforms for commuting pairs of operators and study nontrivial joint invariant (resp. hyperinvariant) subspaces between the generalized spherical Aluthge transform and the original commuting pair. Next, we study the norm continuity through generalized Aluthge transform maps. We also study how the Taylor spectra and the Fredrolm index of commuting pairs of operators behave under the spherical Duggal transform. Finally, we introduce the notion of Campbell binormality for commuting pairs of operators and investigate some of its basic properties under spherical Aluthge and Duggal transforms. Moreover, we obtain new set inclusion diagrams among normal, quasinormal, centered, and Campbell binormal commuting pairs of operators.  相似文献

Cooperative behavior and orthogonal responses of two classes of coordinatively integrated photochromic molecules towards distinct external stimuli were demonstrated on the first example of a photo-thermo-responsive hierarchical platform. Synergetic and orthogonal responses to temperature and excitation wavelength are achieved by confining the stimuli-responsive moieties within a metal–organic framework (MOF), leading to the preparation of a novel photo-thermo-responsive spiropyran-diarylethene based material. Synergistic behavior of two photoswitches enables the study of stimuli-responsive resonance energy transfer as well as control of the photoinduced charge transfer processes, milestones required to advance optoelectronics development. Spectroscopic studies in combination with theoretical modeling revealed a nonlinear effect on the material electronic structure arising from the coordinative integration of photoresponsive molecules with distinct photoisomerization mechanisms. Thus, the reported work covers multivariable facets of not only fundamental aspects of photoswitch cooperativity, but also provides a pathway to modulate photophysics and electronics of multidimensional functional materials exhibiting thermo-photochromism.  相似文献

A simple self-catalyzed hydroamination method for creating hybrid TiO(2)-polyaniline core-shell nanoparticles (NP) has been shown. Hybrid NPs with a range of possible sizes are afforded in high yield under mild reaction conditions and simultaneously show improved charge transport and electrochromic behavior compared to either polyaniline alone or physically blended with TiO(2).  相似文献

In this paper it is shown that if an operator T satisfies ‖p(T)‖?‖pσ(T) for every polynomial p and the polynomially convex hull of σ(T) is a Carathéodory region whose accessible boundary points lie in rectifiable Jordan arcs on its boundary, then T has a nontrivial invariant subspace. As a corollary, it is also shown that if T is a hyponormal operator and the outer boundary of σ(T) has at most finitely many prime ends corresponding to singular points on ∂D and has a tangent at almost every point on each Jordan arc, then T has a nontrivial invariant subspace.  相似文献

Binary composite films were prepared from agar (A) and xanthan gum (X) with different weight percentages. The composite films were transparent, lightweight, eco‐friendly, and biodegradable. The structure and morphology of the prepared agar and AX composite films were confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT‐IR), X‐ray powder diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) technique. The glass transition temperature (Tg) and melting temperature (Tm) of the AX composite films was slightly improved, when compared with the neat agar. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) analysis showed a considerable increment in the char yield and an improved thermal stability. The tensile strength was in the range of 25 to 40 MPa, and elongation at break was in the range of 28.9 to 39.4%. Though, the water vapor permeability (WVP) value reduced in the composite films the difference was not significant. From the mechanical studies, we can deduce that agar and xanthan gum are compatible and miscible with one another leading to prospects of their composite films being considered for different biomedical and packaging applications.  相似文献
