Synthesis and properties of aminomethoxy derivatives of 1-(ethylsulfanyl)alkanes

Mannich condensation of 1-(ethylsulfanyl)alkan-2-ols, formaldehyde, and secondary amines taken in equimolar amounts was used to obtain new amino derivatives of 1-(ethylsulfanyl)alkanes. The structure of the thus synthesized compounds was confirmed by elemental analysis, IR and ¹H NMR spectroscopies, and mass spectrometry. It is shown that the obtained compounds can be used as antimicrobial additives to lubricating oils and antiseptic substances against bacteria and fungi.

Investigation of solutions of sodium tungstate and D-(+)-tartaric acid by polarimetry, cryoscopy, and potentiometry

Solutions of sodium tungstate and D-(+)-tartaric acid in aqueous 0.01 N HCl and aqueous 0.1 N NaOH are studied by polarimetry, cryoscopy, and potentiometry methods. Equations describing the dependencies of the corresponding properties on concentrations of the solution components are obtained.     

On the energy transfer at the radiolysis of CO-H2S gas mixture

The kinetics of hydrogen formation at various amounts of H₂S /1–60%/ in the radiolysis of CO–H₂S mixture has been studied. The ratio of the reaction rate constants for reactions CO^x+COproduct and CO^x+H₂SH+SH=CO, which amounts to 5×10^–2, has been estimated. The effective activation energy of hydrogen formation /E_eff/ has been determined at various amounts of H₂S in the temperature interval 323–573 K.
