Intelligence is known to predict scholastic achievement and enables high performance in cognitive tasks. Fluid intelligence is strongly related to analogical reasoning abilities, which are fundamental to mathematical thinking. Geometric analogical reasoning is a prototypical measure of fluid intelligence. However, the cerebral correlates of geometric analogical reasoning and their developmental modulation over time are still rarely investigated. We report a 1-year follow-up functional magnetic resonance imaging study of a geometric analogical reasoning task in high fluid intelligence high-school students. This study was designed to characterise the cerebral correlates of geometric analogical reasoning and to improve our knowledge about the impact of general cognitive development on behavioural performance and on cerebral mechanisms underlying geometric analogical reasoning in adolescents. Our data indicate that a fronto-parietal network comprising the left and right parietal lobes and the left middle frontal gyrus was equally modulated by task difficulty at both measuring time points. At the behavioural level, however, participants showed improvements in performance at the second measuring time point. The behavioural improvements point to a more efficient task processing. As this is not accompanied by differential recruitment of fronto-parietal brain regions, the data suggest an increase in neural efficiency for these brain regions.  相似文献

The spherulite growth rate of isotactic polybutene-1 and random butene-1/ethylene copolymers has been measured in a wide range of temperatures between the glass transition and the melting temperature. The presence of ethylene co-units in the butene-1 chain leads to a distinct decrease of both the maximum spherulite growth rate and the temperature of fastest growth. The data were analyzed within the frame of the Hoffman–Lauritzen theory of crystallization to obtain form II mesophase surface free energies. The robust performed analysis revealed that the form II mesophase fold surface free energy in random copolymers of butene-1 with less than 5 mol% ethylene is 50–100 % higher than in the homopolymer. It is suggested that the increase of the fold surface free energy is related to the exclusion of ethylene chain defects from crystallization and their accumulation at the basal planes of the form II mesophase.  相似文献

Reported is an unanticipated mechanism of attractive electrostatic interactions of fully neutralized polyacrylic acid (PAA) with like‐charged surfactants. Amphiphilic polymer‐surfactant complexes with high interfacial activity and a solubilization capacity exceeding that of conventional micelles are formed by bridging with Ca2+ ions. Incorporation of a protease into such dynamic nanoreactors results in a synergistically enhanced cleaning performance because of the improved solubilization of poorly water‐soluble immobilized proteins. Competitive interfacial and intermolecular interactions on different time‐ and length‐scales have been resolved using colorimetric analysis, dynamic tensiometry, light scattering, and molecular dynamic simulations. The discovered bridging association mechanism suggests reengineering of surfactant/polymer/enzyme formulations of modern detergents and opens new opportunities in advancing labile delivery systems.  相似文献

We demonstrate a carrier-envelope phase (CEP) stabilized, chirped pulse laser amplifier that exhibits greatly improved intrinsic long-term CEP stability compared with that of other amplifiers. This system employs a grating-based stretcher and compressor and a cryogenically cooled laser amplifier. Single-shot carrier envelope phase noise measurements are also presented that avoid underestimation of this parameter caused by fringe averaging and represent a rigorously accurate upper limit on CEP noise.  相似文献

The Kulinkovich cyclopropanation reaction provides a flexible and convenient method for the synthesis of cyclopropanols. Together with the diverse chemistry of the cyclopropanol unit, it offers access to a wide range of functionalised unsaturated and saturated compounds. Cyclopropylidene is a transient intermediate of the allene–propyne–cyclopropene isomerization. The incorporation of heavier Group 14 elements into the cyclopropylidene scaffold has to date been restricted to the formal replacement of the carbenic carbon atom by a base‐coordinated silicon(II) center. Herein we report the synthesis and characterization of NHC‐coordinated heavier cyclopropylidenes (Si2GeR3X, and Si3R3Br; X=Cl, Mes; R=Tip=2,4,6‐iPr3C6H2) in which the three‐membered ring is exclusively formed by silicon and germanium. In case of the chloro‐substituted Si2Ge‐cyclopropylidene, a stable heavier cycloprop‐1‐yl‐2‐ylidene cation is obtained by NHC‐induced chloride dissociation.  相似文献
