The photocatalytic degradation of an azo reactive dye, Reactive Yellow 84 (RY84), in aqueous solutions using industrial titanium dioxide coated non-woven paper was studied. The experiments were carried out to investigate the factors that influence the dye photocatalytic degradation, such as adsorption, initial concentration of dye, temperature, and solution pH. The experimental results show that adsorption is an important parameter controlling the apparent kinetics constant of degradation. The photocatalytic degradation rate was favored by a high concentration of solution in respect to Langmuir–Hinshelwood model. The degradation was enhanced by the temperature and was favored in acidic pH range. 相似文献

The photocatalytic oxidation of 2-naphthol has been investigated at room temperature in a dynamic photoreactor with system UV/O2 (air) and aqueous suspension of titanium dioxide TiO2 irradiated under a variety of conditions. The kinetics of disappearance of pollutant were affected by several operating parameters such as TiO2 mass, concentration of the substrate and reaction pH. The experiments were measured by high performance liquid chromatography. A Langmuir-Hinshelwood model was found to be accurate for photocatalytic degradation and indicates that adsorption of the solute on the surface of semiconductor particles plays a role in photocatalytic reaction. 相似文献

TiO2 photocatalytic mineralization of β-naphthol: influence of some inorganic ions, ethanol, and hydrogen peroxide. In this work, the photocatalytic oxidation of β-naphthol in aqueous suspensions of TiO2 was investigated at room temperature, by following the formation of CO2. The disappearance of β-naphthol fits a Langmuir-Hinshelwood kinetic model. The activation energy for the degradation reaction of β-naphthol is estimated at 10.2 kJ/mol. The effects of some additives such as ethanol, H2O2, and inorganic ions (Cl−, SO42−, HCO3−, NO3−, Fe3+, Cu2+, and Cr3+) on the photomineralization of β-naphthol were examined. The inhibition of the anions for this reaction was in the order : NO3− < HCO3− < SO42− < Cl−. This can be due to a partial blockage of catalyst active sites by these ions or their reaction with an oxidizing radical such as OH. The most photoactive systems for β-naphthol degradation were found in the presence of ferric ions, while the addition of Cr3+ strongly inhibited the photocatalytic decomposition of β-naphthol. 相似文献

The adsorption of a reactive dye, Reactive Yellow 84, from aqueous solution onto synthesized hydroxyapatite was investigated. The experiments were carried out to investigate the factors that influence the dye uptake by the adsorbent, such as the contact time under agitation, absorbent dosage, initial dye concentration, temperature and pH of dye solution. The experimental results show that the amount of dye adsorbed increases with an increase in the amount of hydroxyapatite. The maximum adsorption occurred at the pH value of 5. The equilibrium uptake was increased with an increase in the initial dye concentration in solution. The experimental isotherm data were analyzed using Langmuir isotherm equation. The maximum monolayer adsorption capacity was 50.25 mg/g. The adsorption has a low temperature dependency and was endothermic in nature with an enthalpy of adsorption of 2.17 kJ mol−1. 相似文献

A specific adsorbent for extraction of methidathion from olive oil was developed. The design of the molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) was based on the results of the computational screening of the library of polymerisable functional monomers. MIP was prepared by thermal polymerisation using N,N’-methylene bisacrylamide (MBAA) as a functional monomer and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) as a cross-linker. The polymers based on the itaconic acid (IA), methacrylic acid (MAA) and 2-(trifluoromethyl)acryl acid (TFMAA) functional monomers and one control polymer which was made without functional monomers with cross-linker EGDMA were also synthesised and tested. The performance of each polymer was compared using corresponding imprinting factor. As it was predicted by molecular modelling the best results were obtained for the MIP prepared with MBAA. The obtained MIP was optimised in solid-phase extraction coupled with high performance liquid chromatography (MISPE-HPLC-UV) and tested for the rapid screening of methidathion in olive oil. The proposed method allowed the efficient extraction of methidathion for concentrations ranging from 0.1 to 9 mg L−1 (r2 = 0.996). The limits of detection (LOD) and quantification (LOQ) in olive oil were 0.02 mg L−1 and 0.1 mg L−1, respectively. MIPs extraction was much more effective than traditional C18 reverse-phase solid phase extraction. 相似文献
