The ion exchange and sorption properties of crystalline Tin bis(monohydrogen orthophosphate) monohydrate of composition Sn(HPO(4))(2).H(2)O were studied in an aqueous solution of KCl over the temperature range 300-320 K, varying the pH and metal ion concentration in the solution. The data were explained on the basis of the law of chemical equilibrium. The metal ion sorption data were fitted to the Langmuir adsorption equation to evaluate the Langmuir parameters. The extent of adsorption was found to increase with an increase in temperature and metal ion concentration in the selectivity order Cu(2+)>Co(2+)>Ni(2+). The Langmuir parameters were used to calculate the thermodynamic functions like standard entropy, enthalpy, and free energy changes during the process of sorption. The conical intersection (CI) governs the ultra-fast relaxation of excited states in a radiationless manner and are observed mainly in photochemical processes. In the current work, we investigated the effects of substituents on the reaction dynamics for the conversion of gauche-1,3-butadiene to bicyclobutane via photochemical electrocyclization. We incorporated both electron withdrawing (−F) and donating (−CH3) groups in the conjugated system. In our study, we optimized the minimum energy conical intersection (MECI) geometries using the multi-configurational state-averaged CASSCF approach, whereas, to study the ground state reaction pathways for the substituted derivatives, dispersion corrected, B3LYP-D3 functional was used. The non-adiabatic surface hopping molecular dynamics simulations were performed to observe the behaviour of electronic states involved throughout the photoconversion process. The results obtained from the multi-reference second-order perturbation correction of energy at the XMS-CASPT2 level of theory, topography analysis, and non-adiabatic dynamics suggest that the −CH3 substituted derivatives can undergo faster thermal conversion to the product in the ground state with a smaller activation energy barrier compared to −F substituted derivative. Our study also reveals that the GBUT to BIBUT conversion follows both conrotatory and disrotatory pathways, whereas, on substitution with −F or −CH3, the conversion proceeds via the conrotatory pathway.  相似文献

Dicarboxylate coordination polymers (1-5) of Mn(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II), respectively, derived from (7-carboxymethoxy-naphthalen-2-yloxy)-acetic acid (L1H2) are synthesized and characterized. Depending on the coordination sites around the metal centers and coordination mode of the ligand, dimensionality of these polymers varies. The dicarboxylates adopt three spatial orientations: in-plane linear coordination, out-of-plane cis coordination and out-of-plane trans coordination mode. Both the cis and trans out-of-plane coordination modes are found to exist only if the ancillary ligand pyridine is coordinated to the metal ion. When the aquoligand coordinates the in-plane linear coordination mode of L1 predominates. The coordination polymers 4 and 5 show photoluminescence in solution. The dicarboxylate of (5-carboxymethoxy-naphthalen-1-yloxy)-acetic acid (L2H2) does not form coordination polymer under ambient conditions, but prefers to remain as uncoordinated anion providing hydrophobic confinement to hexa-aquometal(II) cation. Compound 3 crystallizes in P21 space group and it shows broadband ultra-violet fluorescence centered at 352.9 nm on focusing 632.8 nm He:Ne laser.  相似文献

Abstract— The quenching of 8-methoxypsoralen (8-MOP) fluorescence by protons was observed to occur at the diffusion controlled rates in aqueous solutions at room temperature. Enhanced basicity of 8-MOP in the excited state compared to the ground state is expected on theoretical grounds. The fluorescence yield. which we determined as 6.3 × 10--4 at pH 1 is surprisingly low and indicative of extremely fast radiationless decay pathways. The fluorescence lifetime of 8-MOP in neutral aqueous solution is on the order of 1–2 ns.  相似文献

Identification of unknown binding partners of a protein of interest can be a difficult process. Current strategies to determine protein binding partners result in a high amount of false-positives, requiring use of several different methods to confirm the accuracy of the apparent association. We have developed and utilized a method that is reliable and easily substantiated. Complexes are isolated from cell extract after exposure to the radiolabeled protein of interest, followed by resolution on a native polyacrylamide gel. Native conformations are preserved, allowing the complex members to maintain associations. By radiolabeling the protein of interest, the complex can be easily identified at detection levels below the threshold of Serva Blue, Coomassie, and silver stains. The visualized radioactive band is analyzed by MS to identify binding partners, which can be subsequently verified by antibody shift and immunoprecipitation of the complex. By using this method we have successfully identified binding partners of two proteins that reside in different locations of a cellular organelle.  相似文献

Stereoselective total synthesis of the structurally intriguing polyketide natural product thailandamide lactone was accomplished, and done so using a convergent approach for the first time to the best of our knowledge. The key features of this synthesis included use of a Crimmins acetate aldol reaction, Evans methylation, Urpi acetal aldol reaction, Sharpless asymmetric epoxidation and subsequent γ-lactonization for the installation of six asymmetric centers and the use of the Negishi reaction, Julia-Kocienski olefination, cross metathesis, HWE olefination and intermolecular Heck coupling for construction of a variety of unsaturated linkages. Pd(i)-based Heck coupling was introduced, for the first time to the best of our knowledge, quite efficiently to couple the major eastern and sensitive western segments of the molecule. The antibacterial activity of thailandamide lactone was also evaluated.

A convergent strategy for the total synthesis of the structurally intriguing polyketide natural product thailandamide lactone has been developed for the first time. The antibacterial activity of the molecule has also been disclosed.  相似文献

The importance of noncovalent interaction has gained attention in various domains covering drug and novel catalyst design. The present study mainly characterizes the role of hydrogen bond (H-bond) and other intermolecular interactions in different (1 : 1) complex analogues formed between the N-aryl-thiazol-2-ylidene (YR) and five proton donor (HX) molecules. The analysis of the singlet-triplet energy gap ( ) confirmed the stability of the singlet state for this class of N-aryl-thiazol-2-ylidenes than the triplet state. The interaction energy values of the YR-HX complexes follow the order: YR-NH3<YR-HCN<YR-H2O<YR-MeOH<YR-HF. In addition, substituting the H-atom of the N−H bond with bulky groups (−R) leads to an increase in the interaction energy of the YR-HX complexes. Hence, it was found that the replacement of N-atom in N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) by S-atom forming N-aryl-thiazol-2-ylidene results in comparable intermolecular interactions with proton donor molecules similar to imidazole-2-ylidene (NHC). The current study enlightened the role of noncovalent interactions in carbene complexes with proton donor molecules. We hope that our work on carbene chemistry will pave the way for its application in the designing and synthesis of efficient catalysts.  相似文献
