Pristine and WO3 decorated TiO2 nanorods (NRs) were synthesised to investigate n-n-type heterojunction gas sensing properties. TiO2 NRs were fabricated via hydrothermal method on fluorine-doped tin oxide coated glass (FTO) substrates. Then, tungsten was sputtered on the TiO2 NRs and thermally oxidised to obtain WO3 nanoparticles. The heterostructure was characterised by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy. Fabricated sensor devices were exposed to VOCs such as toluene, xylene, acetone and ethanol, and humidity at different operation temperatures. Experimental results demonstrated that the heterostructure has better sensor response toward ethanol at 200 °C. Enhanced sensing properties are attributed to the heterojunction formation by decorating TiO2 NRs with WO3.  相似文献

ObjectiveIschemia reperfusion (IR) injury, occurring during heart attacks, hemorrhagic shock, and bypass and transplant surgeries, impairs microcirculatory function and nitric oxide (NO) synthesis. We report the regulation of endothelial and inducible NO synthase (eNOS and iNOS) proteins as a consequence of the application of continuous mode diagnostic frequency ultrasound application following IR injury.MethodsAnimals were assigned to one of five groups for microcirculatory assessment or Western blot analysis (WB) as follows: (1) IR+iNOS inhibition (1400W); and (2) IR+1400W+ultrasound for microcirculatory assessment, (3) Control; (4) IR; and (5) IR+ultrasound for WB. Functional capillary density and microvascular diameter, flow velocity, and flow were monitored for microcirculatory assessment. Skin tissue samples were harvested for WB. 2.49 MHz continuous ultrasound was used for application.ResultsBoth the inhibition of iNOS alone and iNOS inhibition with ultrasound irradiation positively influenced the microcirculation of observed animals relative to baseline values. Ultrasound exposure resulted in a significant production of eNOS protein in skin tissue harvested 24 h into reperfusion (p < 0.01). iNOS levels from the same tissue of ultrasound exposed animals were found to be significantly decreased 0.5 h into reperfusion (p < 0.05).ConclusionProtection from lasting IR injury effects in the microcirculation, with continuous mode diagnostic frequency ultrasound, results from augmented eNOS protein levels during late reperfusion. Ultrasound inhibited iNOS protein production during early reperfusion may also confer protection from IR injury.  相似文献

In this study, methanol extracts (MEs) and essential oil (EO) of Angelica purpurascens (Avé-Lall.) Gill obtained from different parts (root, stem, leaf, and seed) were evaluated in terms of antioxidant activity, total phenolics, compositions of phenolic compound, and essential oil with the methods of 2,2-azino-bis(3ethylbenzo-thiazoline-6-sulfonic acid (ABTS•+), 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazil (DPPH•) radical scavenging activities, and ferric reducing/antioxidant power (FRAP), the Folin–Ciocalteu, liquid chromatography−tandem mass spectrometry (LC−MS/MS), and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC−MS), respectively. The root extract of A. purpurascens exhibited the highest ABTS•+, DPPH•, and FRAP activities (IC50: 0.05 ± 0.0001 mg/mL, IC50: 0.06 ± 0.002 mg/mL, 821.04 ± 15.96 µM TEAC (Trolox equivalent antioxidant capacity), respectively). Moreover, EO of A. purpurascens root displayed DPPH• scavenging activity (IC50: 2.95 ± 0.084 mg/mL). The root extract had the highest total phenolic content (438.75 ± 16.39 GAE (gallic acid equivalent), µg/mL)). Twenty compounds were identified by LC−MS/MS. The most abundant phenolics were ferulic acid (244.39 ± 15.64 μg/g extract), benzoic acid (138.18 ± 8.84 μg/g extract), oleuropein (78.04 ± 4.99 μg/g extract), and rutin (31.21 ± 2.00 μg/g extract) in seed, stem, root, and leaf extracts, respectively. According to the GC−MS analysis, the major components were determined as α-bisabolol (22.93%), cubebol (14.39%), α-pinene (11.63%), and α-limonene (9.41%) among 29 compounds. Consequently, the MEs and EO of A. purpurascens can be used as a natural antioxidant source.  相似文献

This paper describes new bounding methods for the axial three-index assignment problem (3AP). For calculating 3AP lower bounds, we use a projection method followed by a Hungarian algorithm, based on a new Lagrangian relaxation. We also use a cost transformation scheme, which iteratively transforms 3AP costs in a series of equivalent 3APs, which provides the possibility of improving the 3AP lower bound. These methods produce efficiently computed relatively tight lower bound.  相似文献

Abstract— The purpose of this study was to evaluate the role of altered calcium homeostasis in the development of irreversible membrane damage in the UVB-irradiated ocular lens. In particular, experiments were designed to determine whether restricting calcium influx could prevent membrane damage that typically leads to ion imbalances and lens opacification following short-term exposure to ultraviolet light (UVB). The influx of calcium was reduced by culturing lenses in a low-calcium culture medium containing 0.3 mM Ca2+ rather than physiological concentrations of 1.6 mM. This low-calcium protocol retarded calcium accumulation in UVB-irradiated lenses for 2 days of culture, and opacification was delayed by 24 h. Loss of transparency did occur during the second day of culture, but more slowly than in irradiated lenses cultured in normal-calcium medium. Membrane damage was assessed by evaluating loss in cation transport activity, assessed by measuring 86Rb uptake into cultured lenses. Uptake was markedly inhibited in UVB-irradiated lenses and low-calcium culture did not prevent this inhibition of cation transport, a finding that explains why low-calcium protocol did not help maintain sodium homeostasis in irradiated lenses. Inhibition of cation transport and sodium accumulation eventually caused lens hydration and light scattering during extended culture in the absence of significant calcium elevation. Additional experiments were done to establish whether initial damage sustained by membranes could be repaired through the biosynthesis of new membrane proteins. Incorporation of 14C-histidine in membranes of the UVB-exposed lens was measured to assess membrane synthesis essential for repairing membrane damage. The rate of membrane protein synthesis, assessed by measuring incorporation of labeled amino acids, declined in UVB cataract, despite the prevention of calcium accumulation. These results suggest that one explanation for irreversible gain in sodium and calcium content accompanying opacification is the inability of lenses to replenish damaged membrane proteins comprising ion channels or transporters.  相似文献

The luminescence of trans-[TcO2(L)4]+ (L = pyridine (py) or picoline (pic)) and trans-[TcO2(CN)4]3- at room and low temperature is described and represents the first example of room temperature excited-state luminescence observed for Tc complexes. At room temperature, the complexes exhibited broad luminescence with emission maxima ranging from 745 to 780 nm. Analogous to the Re complexes (emission at 635-655 nm), the low-temperature emission spectra of microcrystalline samples of [TcO2(py)4]BPh4 and [TcO2(pic)4]BPh4 display the characteristic progressions of the symmetric O=Tc=O and Tc-L stretching modes. DFT/TDDFT calculations were performed on the trans-[MO2(L)4]+ (M = Re, Tc) congeners and predicted the dioxotechnetium emission to be 0.41 eV lower in energy than its Re analogue. Low-temperature lifetimes (8 K) ranging from 15 to 1926 mus for the series of Tc complexes are consistent with the Re analogues.  相似文献

The synthesis and spectral properties of a new 2,2'-bipyridinium ion, 1,1'-dimethyl-4,4'-(dimethylamino)-2,2'-bipyridinium bis(tetrafluoroborate) are reported. Rotation of the dimethylamino group is slow at room temperature on the 400 MHz 1H and 100 MHz 13C NMR time scales. Complete line shape fit of the dynamically broadened NMR spectra was used to determine the activation barriers for this process. The first complete set of UV-vis spectra for a 2,2'-bipyridinium dication and its one- and two-electron reduced products was reported. TD-DFT calculations were used to help assign the origin of the long wavelength absorptions in these species. The effect of substituents on the energies and conformational potential energy surfaces of all three species were also examined using the B3LYP/6-31G(d) computational method.  相似文献
