The formation of intercalation compounds of MoS2 with cations of alkali metals and alkylammonium from monolayer dispersion of molybdenum disulfide

Ion-exchange interaction of the monolayer aqueous dispersion obtained by hydration of crystalline LiMoS₂ with Li, Na, K salts and alkyiammoniiim halides is studied. Intercalation compounds of MoS₂ with hydrated inorganic cations as well as hitherto unattainable intercalation compounds of MoS₂ with alkylammonium cations are shown to be formed under these conditions. New rhenium(III) complexes with fluorinated β-diketones

Five new rhenium(III) complexes of the general formula ReCl₂(R_FCOCHCOR_F)(PPh₃)(OPPh₃), where R_F = CF₃ (I), C₂F₅ (II), C₃F₇ (III), C₄F₉ (IV), and CF₃CFOC₃F₇ (V), were synthesized. The known rhenium(V) complex ReOCl₂(OC₂H₅)(PPh₃)₂, which can readily be obtained from metallic rhenium, was used as a precursor. Two polymorphous modifications of compound I were found and studied by X-ray diffraction analysis. The thermal properties of the synthesized complexes were characterized by the DTA-TG method.     

Electrochemical defluorination of carbon nanotubes

An electrochemical procedure for the removal of fluorine from the walls of fluorinated monolayer carbon nanotubes was suggested. According to element analysis data, fluorine was completely removed. According to UV-Vis-Nir and Raman spectroscopic studies, the initial structure of fluorinated carbon nanotubes was almost completely restored.     

Analysis of a polytetrafluoroethylene coating deposited onto polyester fibers from supercritical carbon dioxide

A low-molecular-weight polytetrafluoroethylene coating deposited onto a polyester textile material from supercritical carbon dioxide with the aim to make the material hydrophobic was analyzed. The hydrophobic properties of the coating were examined in comparison with those of the hydrophobizing agent produced by Nuva (Switzerland).
