The kinetics of condis (conformationally disordered) crystal formation from the melt and of rigid crystals from condis crystals has been studied by differential scanning calorimetry for trans-1,4-polybutadiene and polytetrafluoroethylene. Generally very low two-stage Avrami exponents between 0.02 and 1.74 were needed to describe the fast and often incomplete crystallizations. None of the commonly accepted crystal nucleation and growth models seems to fit the data.  相似文献

An integral equation formulation for buoyancy-driven convection problems is developed and illustrated. Buoyancy-driven convection in a bounded cylindrical geometry with a free surface is studied for a range of aspect ratios and Nusselt numbers. The critical Rayleigh number, the nature of the cellular motion, and the heat transfer enhancement are computed using linear theory. Green's functions are used to convert the linear problem into linear Fredholm integral equations. Theorems are proved which establish the properties of the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the linear integral operator which appears in these equations.  相似文献

TheC v toC p conversion for solid linear macromolecules via the Nernst-Lindemann equationC p -C v =A 0,C p 2 T/Tm is discussed on hand of data for 10 crystals and seven glasses. An average value ofA 0=(5.11±2.41) · 10–3 mol K J–1 was calculated if the mole is assumed to refer to heavy atoms only. ThisA 0 is numerically equal to the original Nernst—Lindemann constant.
Zusammenfassung An Hand von sich auf 10 Kristalle und 7 Gläser beziehenden Daten wird die Umrechnung vonC v -inC p -Werte für feste lineare Makromoleküle mittels der Nernst-Lindemann-GleichungC p -C v =A 0 C p 2 T/T m diskutiert. Ein Durchschnittswert vonA 0=(5.11±2.41) · 10–3 mol K J–1 wurde unter der Annahme berechnet, daß sich das Mol nur auf schwere Atome bezieht. DieserA 0-Wert ist numerisch gleich der ursprünglichen Nerns-Lindemann-Konstanten.

Quantitative thermal analysis was carried out for poly-(pivalolactone) (PPVL), including heat capacity determinations from 140 to 550 K. The experimental Cp below the glass transition temperature was fitted to an approximate vibrational spectrum and the ATHAS computation scheme was used to compute the “vibration only” heat capacities from 0.1 to 1000 K. The liquid Cp was derived from an empirical addition scheme and found to agree with the experimental Cp with an RMS of ±2.8% from 240 K to 550 K. A glass transition, Tg, could be detected at 260 K, and the change in heat capacity for 100% amorphous PPVL was calculated to be 38.8 J/(K mol). Above Tg, semicrystalline samples seem to show a rigid amorphous fraction that does not contribute to the increase in heat capacity at Tg. Using the ATHAS recommended heat capacities, the various thermodynamic functions (enthalpy, entropy, and Gibbs function) were derived. The residual entropy at 0 K for the amorphous PPVL was calculated to be 5.2 J/(K mol) per mobile bead, and was comparable to that obtained for a series of linear, aliphatic polyesters analyzed earlier.  相似文献

This paper reports a new flow-through fluoroimmunosensor, the function of which is based on antibodies immobilized on an inmunoreactor of controlled-pore glass (CPG), for determination of digoxin, used in the treatment of congestive heart failure and artery disease. The immunosensor has a detection limit of 1.20 microg L(-1) and provides high reproducibility (RSD=4.5% for a concentration of 0.0025 mg L(-1), and RSD=6.7% for 0.01 mg L(-1)). The optimum working concentration range was found to be 1.2 x 10(-3)-4.0 x 10(-2) mg L(-1). The lifetime of the immunosensor was about 50 immunoassays; if stored unused its lifetime can be extended to three months. A sample speed of about 10-12 samples per hour can be attained. Possible interference from substances with structures similar to digoxin (morphine, heroin, tebaine, codeine, pentazocine and narcotine) was investigated. No cross-reactivity was seen at the highest digoxin: interferent ratio studied (1:100). The proposed fluoroimmunosensor was successfully used to determine digoxin concentrations in human serum samples.  相似文献

Thermal decomposition of plasma-polymerized hexamethyl-cyclotrisilazane (PP-HMCTSN) thin films was studied by using various techniques. Pyrolysis-gas chromatography investigation of thermal decomposition products and IR examination of the polymer films showed that methylsilyl groups present in the monomer were highly susceptible to form disilymethylene and disilyethylene cross-linkages under plasma conditions. A three-stage mechanism of the thermal decomposition found by thermogravimetry proved a great complexity of the thermal reactions which occur during this process and, in turn, provided strong evidence for a very complex structure of plasma polymer. Electron microscopy investigation revealed a marked effect of the thermal decomposition process on the film microstructure. The trend observed in the morphological changes was consistent with kinetics of this process. The high temperature thermal treatment reduced the organic content of polymer film, correspondingly increasing its inorganic character. Films produced with this process were of unusually interesting properties, displaying strong adhesion to metal substrates and high resistance to corrosive agents.  相似文献
