Sucrose ethyleneoxide adducts have been prepared by reaction of sucrose with various amounts of ethyleneoxide inDMSO. The resulting polypode molecules were found to be efficient phase transfer catalysts in nucleophilic substitutions, oxidation and dichlorcarbene generation. Polymerisable polypodes have been obtained by reaction of sucrose ethyleneoxide adducts with methacrylic anhydride or methacryloylchloride in pyridine. Free radical polymerisation of the resulting mixtures of mono- and polyfunctional methacrylic esters of sucrose ethyleneoxide adducts yielded crosslinked gels. These polymer-supported octopus-molecules were found to be efficient triphase catalysts.

Electrostatic charging of particles of identical composition, but different sizes, is a poorly understood phenomenon that may be of importance in dust storms, generation of lightning, numerous technological applications involving solid particulates, and in the agglomeration of lunar dust and inter-stellar dust clouds. We show that under optical excitation, the relative magnitude of surface to volume de-excitation gives size-dependent electron and hole concentrations. The consequent differences in chemical potentials can lead to charge transfer between particles of different size. The direction of charge transfer, from large to small or vice versa, depends critically on the properties of the materials.  相似文献

The substitution of scandium in fullerene single-molecule magnets (SMMs) DySc2N@C80 and Dy2ScN@C80 by lutetium has been studied to explore the influence of the diamagnetic metal on the SMM performance of dysprosium nitride clusterfullerenes. The use of lutetium led to an improved SMM performance of DyLu2N@C80, which shows a higher blocking temperature of magnetization (TB=9.5 K), longer relaxation times, and broader hysteresis than DySc2N@C80 (TB=6.9 K). At the same time, Dy2LuN@C80 was found to have a similar blocking temperature of magnetization to Dy2ScN@C80 (TB=8 K), but substantially different interactions between the magnetic moments of the dysprosium ions in the Dy2MN clusters. Surprisingly, although the intramolecular dipolar interactions in Dy2LuN@C80 and Dy2ScN@C80 are of similar strength, the exchange interactions in Dy2LuN@C80 are close to zero. Analysis of the low-frequency molecular and lattice vibrations showed strong mixing of the lattice modes and endohedral cluster librations in k-space. This mixing simplifies the spin–lattice relaxation by conserving the momentum during the spin flip and helping to distribute the moment and energy further into the lattice.  相似文献

Energy distribution curves of laser-induced electron pulses from a tungsten tip have been measured as a function of tip voltage and laser power. Electron emission via tunneling through and/or excitation over the surface barrier from photoexcited nonequilibrium electron distributions are clearly observed. The spectral shapes largely vary with the emission processes and are strongly affected by electron dynamics. Simulations successfully reproduce the spectra, thus allowing direct insight into the involved electron dynamics and revealing the temporal tunability of electron emission via the two experimental parameters. These results should be useful to optimize the pulse characteristics for many applications based on ultrafast laser-induced electron emission.  相似文献

The use of methane as a reactive gas dramatically increases the selectivity of the arc‐discharge synthesis of M‐Ti‐carbide clusterfullerenes (M=Y, Nd, Gd, Dy, Er, Lu). Optimization of the process parameters allows the synthesis of Dy2TiC@C80‐I and its facile isolation in a single chromatographic step. A new type of cluster with an endohedral acetylide unit, M2TiC2@C80, is discovered along with the second isomer of M2TiC@C80. Dy2TiC@C80‐(I,II) and Dy2TiC2@C80‐I are shown to be single‐molecule magnets (SMM), but the presence of the second carbon atom in the cluster Dy2TiC2@C80 leads to substantially poorer SMM properties.  相似文献

Résumé Ce mémoire décrit quelques recherches expérimentales et théoriques sur l'interaction des ondes de choc obliques avec les couches limites laminaires. Une série de mesures détaillées de pressions et du frottement a été faite dans la région d'interaction dans un écoulement le long d'une plaque plane. Un modèle du mécanisme en a été déduit, dont les prédictions s'accordent raisonnablement bien avec les résultats des expériences. Les mêmes idées ont été appliquées à l'interaction sur une surface courbe, et les résultats s'accordent encore avec les expériences. Une étude simplifiée de la région de stabilité de l'interaction sous l'action d'oscillations de faible amplitude a été faite.

The structure of epitaxially grown hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) on the surface of a Ru(0 0 0 1) single crystal was investigated using surface X-ray diffraction, which showed the system to form a commensurate 14-on-13 superstructure. This result disagrees with previous reports on superstructures of the same system and arguments based on simple thermal expansion coefficient calculations. We argue that the larger observed superstructure forms because of the strong bonding of h-BN to Ru. In comparison to h-BN/Rh(1 1 1) it can accommodate more induced lateral in-plane strain- or lock-in energy over larger regions (referred to as the holes) within the superstructure, which itself can consequently become larger.  相似文献
