A series of 3-substituted-5-methoxy-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-ones were prepared from aldehydes, ketones, phenylacetic acids, and 1,2- and 1,3-diketones. Conditions for the formation of these oxadiazolones from the precursor N-carbamoyl chlorides depended on the structure, and varied from spontaneous ring closure to those requiring bases. Variation in the N-3 substituents sometimes produced mixtures of isomers which were separated and identified. These molecules were prepared in order to study the effect of the N-3 substituent variation on the biological properties of oxadiazolones.  相似文献

Based on the analysis of molecular gas dynamics, the drag and moment acting on an ellipsoid particle of revolutionX 2/a 2+Y 2/a 2+Z 2/c 2=1, as an example of nonspherical particles, are studied under the condition of free-molecular plasma flow with thin plasma sheaths. A nonzero moment which causes nonspherical particle self-oscillation and self-rotation around its own axis in the plasma flow—similar to the pitching moment in aerodynamics—is discovered for the first time. When the ratio of axis lengthc/a is unity, the moment is zero and the drag formula are reduced to the well-known results of spherical particles. The effects of the particle-plasma relative velocity, the plasma temperature, and the particle materials on the drag and moment are also investigated.  相似文献

Abstract

The purification by column chromatography of a phenol-oxidizing enzyme, mushroom tyrosinase, was investigated using solid phase adsorbents designed to have specific affinity for the enzyme. Sepharose 4B, aminophenyl-bearing porous glass, and p-aminobenzylcellulose were chemically modified to introduce phenolic, catecholic, or benzoic groups on the polymer surface. The resulting preparations were tested for their effectiveness in separating tyrosinase from an impure protein mixture. The phenolic and benzoic polymers displayed no specific affinity for tyrosinase. Aminophenyl glass, with or without an attached phenolic group, adsorbed appreciable quantities of protein nonspecif-ically, thus complicating studies of its tyrosinase affinity properties. Dopamine, a dihydroxyphenyl derivative, was bound to Sepharose and was found to be effective in retaining tyrosinase at pH 5.5; elution of the enzyme by washing at pH 8.8 resulted in its purification by a factor of 10 to 14. Enzymatic oxidation of the adsorbent limited the number of purification cycles which could be carried out on a single column.  相似文献

In large distribution systems, distribution centers (DC) deliver some merchandize to their retail stores in size-specific packages, also called ship-packs. These ship-packs include cases (e.g., cartons containing 24 or 48 units), inners (packages of 6 or 8 units) or eaches (individual units). For each Stock Keeping Unit (SKU), a retailer can decide which of these ship-pack options to use when replenishing its retail stores. Working with a major US retailer, we have developed a cost model that balances DC handling costs, store handling costs and inventory-related costs at both the DC and the stores, and therefore can help to determine the optimum warehouse ship-pack for each SKU. We implement our model for a sample of 529 SKUs, and show that by changing ship-pack size for about 30 SKUs, the retailer can reduce its total cost by 0.3% - 0.4%. Interestingly, we find that most of the cost savings occurs at the DC level.  相似文献

We report the first experimental results on a high-gain harmonic-generation (HGHG) free-electron laser (FEL) operating in the ultraviolet. An 800 nm seed from a Ti:sapphire laser has been used to produce saturated amplified radiation at the 266 nm third harmonic. The results confirm the predictions for HGHG FEL operation: stable central wavelength, narrow bandwidth, and small pulse-energy fluctuation.  相似文献

The recent Joint European Torus deuterium-tritium campaign has yielded ion-cyclotron-resonance-heated (ICRH) pulses during which both the sawtooth characteristics and the ICRH minority ion population both evolve substantially. At multiple times during each pulse, the evolution of the kinetic-fluid MHD energy is calculated from measurement of the energetic ions and compared with the evolving sawtooth duration. There is strong correlation between sawtooth duration and minority ion stabilization of the ideal internal kink.  相似文献

An incompressible variational ideal ballooning mode equation is discretized with the COOL finite element discretization scheme using basis functions composed of variable order Legendre polynomials. This reduces the second order ordinary differential equation to a special block pentadiagonal matrix equation that is solved using an inverse vector iteration method. A benchmark test of BECOOL (Ballooning Eigensolver using COOL finite elements) with second order Legendre polynomials recovers precisely the eigenvalues computed by the VVBAL shooting code. Timing runs reveal the need to determine an optimal lower order case. Eigenvalue convergence runs show that cubic Legendre polynomials construct the optimal ballooning mode equation for intensive computations.  相似文献
