Silicon-, Germanium-, and Tin-containing Derivatives of Barbital and Methyluracil

1,3-Bis(trimethylsilyl)- and 1,3-bis(tributylstannyl)-5,5-diethylpyrimidine-2,4,6(1H,3H,5H)-triones were synthesized in high yields by the reactions of 5,5-diethyl-2,4,6(1H,3H,5H)-trione (barbital) with hexamethyldisilazane and bis(tributylstannyl) oxide, respectively. The products were reacted with acetyl, benzoyl, and 3-(triethylgermyl)propionyl halides to obtain the corresponding bisacylated pyrimidine derivatives. Synthesis of new organosilicon and organogermanium derivatives of diallylisocyanurate and cyanuric acid

Conclusion The reactions of the silver, cesium or rubidium salts of diallylisocyanurate and of trimethylsilyldiallylisocyanurate with pentamethylchlorodisilane, 1,2-dichlorotetramethyldisilane, 1,3-dichlorotetramethyldisiloxane and -(trialkylgermyl)propionyl chlorides leads to the corresponding organosilicon and organogermanium triazine derivatives. Synthesis and some properties of vanadocene isocyanate and isothiocyanate d1-complexes

Bis(disilanyl)- and bis(trisilanyl)carbodiimides

Reaction of vanadocene and vanadocene dichloride with ortho-iodobenzoic acid

At the interaction of bis (η⁵-cyclopentadienyl)vanadium with iodobenzoic acid or trimethylsilyl o-iodobenzoate in toluene depending on the ratio of the initial reagents bis(η⁵-cyclopentadienyl)vanadium(o-iodobenzoate) or η⁵-cyclopentadienylvanadium-bis-o-iodobenzoate were obtained in high yields. The latter was also formed in the reaction of bis(η⁵-cyclopentadiene)vanadium dihloride with trimethylsilyl o-iodobenzoate.     

Reactions of vanadocene and its monochloride withp-toluenesulfonyl chloride

The reactions of Cp₂V and Cp₂VCl withp-toluenesulfonyl chloride were studied. Depending on the ratio of the reagents, the solvent, and other reaction conditions, the compoundsp-MeC₆H₄S0₂VCp₂Cl, (p-MeC₆H₄S0₂VCp)n or (p-MeC₆H₄S0₂VO)m are formed.Translated from_{Izvestiya Akademii Nauk. N,N′-Bis(trimethylsilyl)dicyandiamide

N,N-Bis(trimethylsilyl)dicyandiamide was prepared for the first time by the reaction of dicyandiamide with hexamethyldisilazane in boiling tetrahydrofuran. Thermal transformations of this compound were studied by DTA. The novel compound may be used in the synthesis of bis(trimethylsilyl)carbodiimide.Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk. Reaction of Phenylurea and N-Trimethylsilyl-N'-phenylurea with Vanadocene and N-Bromosuccinimide

Phenylurea and N-trimethylsilyl-N'-phenylurea react with vanadocene (Cp₂V) in toluene to give N-(⁵-cyclopentadienyl)vanadio-N'-phenylurea as a major product and Cp₂VN = C = O and aniline as byproducts. The reaction of N-trimethylsilyl-N'-phenylurea with N-bromosuccinimide in THF produces, instead of expected N-phenylureidosuccinimide and bromotrimethylsilane, succinimide and N-(p-bromophenyl)-N-trimethylsilylurea which hydrolyzes to form (p-bromophenyl)urea.     

Reaction of <Emphasis Type="Italic">N,N</Emphasis>′-bis(trimethylsilyl)dicyandiamide with bis(η<Superscript>5</Superscript>-cyclopentadienylvanadium) dichloride

1,3,5-Tris[bis(η⁵-cyclopentadienyl)chlorovanadium]melamin is prepared in high yield by the reaction of N,N′-bis(trimethylsilyl)dicyandiamide with bis(η⁵-cyclopentadienylvanadium) dichloride in tetrahydrofuran. As side products, trimethylchlorosilane and cyclopentadiene formed. Reaction of N,N′-bis(trimethylsilyl) dicyandiamide with benzoyl chloride results in the formation of tris(benzoyl)melamin.
