The coordination chemistry of a saccharide-based ferrichrome analogue, 1-O-methyl-2,3,4-tris-O-[4-(N-hydroxy-N-methylcarbamoyl)-n-butyrate]-alpha-d-glucopyranoside (H(3)L), is reported, along with its pK(a) values, Fe(III) and Fe(II) chelation constants, and aqueous-solution speciation as determined by spectrophotometric and potentiometric titration techniques. The use of a saccharide platform to synthesize a hexadentate trihydroxamic acid chelator provides some advantages over other approaches to ferrichrome models, including significant water solubility and hydrogen-bonding capability of the backbone that can potentially provide favorable receptor recognition and biological activity. The pK(a) values for the hydroxamate moieties were found to be similar to those of other trihydroxamates. Proton-dependent Fe(III)-H(3)L and Fe(II)-H(3)L equilibrium constants were determined using a model involving the sequential protonation of the iron(III)- and iron(II)-ligand complexes. These results were used to calculate the formation constants, log beta(110) = 31.86 for Fe(III)L and 12.1 for Fe(II)L(-). The calculated pFe value of 27.1 indicates that H(3)L possesses an Fe(III) affinity comparable to or greater than those of ferrichrome and other ferrichrome analogues and is thermodynamically capable of removing Fe(III) from transferrin. E(1/2) for the Fe(III)L/Fe(II)L(-) couple was determined to be -436 mV from quasi-reversible cyclic voltammograms at pH = 9, and the pH-dependent E(1/2) profile was used to determine the Fe(II)L(-) protonation constants. 相似文献

Composition and hydrolysis products of a biotechnical available complex of macrolides were analyzed by HPLC and ESI-CID-MSn. Major components are leucomycin-type antibiotics (leucomycins A1 (5), A7 (3), A9 (2), 9-desoxy-9-oxo-turimycin H3 (4) and niddamycin B (6). Hydrolysis of the complex mixture yielded 9-, 13-isoforocidins (7, 8, 9, 11) and 9-oxo-forocidin (10). Analysis of total folate concentration measured by microbiological assay in a variety of foods submitted in a routine manner to experienced laboratories that regularly perform folate analysis on fee-for-service basis was evaluated. Homogenates of fresh strawberries, frozen spinach, orange juice, frozen meat and vegetable pizza, dry macaroni, and dried pinto beans were prepared and stored under conditions previously determined to maintain stability of folate content. An aliquot of each composite and of 3 certified reference materials were sent on each of 4 occasions to 4 laboratories. Results for macaroni and pizza, the only folic acid-fortified foods, had considerably lower between-laboratory variation (CV(B)) with CV(B) of 9-11% versus >45% for other foods. Mean total folate ranged from 14 to 279 microg/100 g for a mixed vegetable reference material, from 5 to 70 microg/100 g for strawberries, and from 28 to 81 microg/100 g for wholemeal flour. Only 1 laboratory reported using a tri-enzyme extraction, and all laboratories used folic acid fortified foods as internal control materials. Users of commercial total folate analysis should understand the uncertainty in values determined by microbiological assay, particularly for foods containing primarily naturally occurring folate, which may not be apparent when replicate samples are not submitted for analysis. 相似文献

Common oxidants used in chemical synthesis, including newly developed perruthenates, were evaluated in the context of understanding (and better appreciating) the sensitiveness and associated potential hazards of these reagents. The simultaneous determination of cationic, anionic, and neutral analytes in a real sample was demonstrated by coupling electrochemical (EC) derivatization with counter‐EOF CE‐C4D. An EC flow cell was used to oxidize alcohols from an antiseptic mouthwash sample into carboxylic acids at a platinum electrode in acid medium. The carboxylates formed in the derivatization process and other sample ingredients, such as benzoate, saccharinate, and sodium ions, were separated in counter‐flow mode and detected in one run in Tris‐HCl buffer, pH 8.6. Fewer than 5 min were needed to complete each analysis with the automated flow system comprising solenoid pumps for the management of solutions. Insights into the electrochemistry of benzoic acid, present in the sample matrix, were also gained by EC‐CE‐C4D; more specifically, by applying potentials higher than 1.47 V to the platinum electrode, some formiate and minute amounts of salicylate were detected. 相似文献

Demonstrated here is a supramolecular approach to fabricate highly ordered monolayered hydrogen‐ and halogen‐bonded graphyne‐like two‐dimensional (2D) materials from triethynyltriazine derivatives on Au(111) and Ag(111). The 2D networks are stabilized by N???H?C(sp) bonds and N???Br?C(sp) bonds to the triazine core. The structural properties and the binding energies of the supramolecular graphynes have been investigated by scanning tunneling microscopy in combination with density‐functional theory calculations. It is revealed that the N???Br?C(sp) bonds lead to significantly stronger bonded networks compared to the hydrogen‐bonded networks. A systematic analysis of the binding energies of triethynyltriazine and triethynylbenzene derivatives further demonstrates that the X3‐synthon, which is commonly observed for bromobenzene derivatives, is weaker than the X6‐synthon for our bromotriethynyl derivatives. 相似文献
