The angular variations of the five-fold differential cross section obtained by using different wave functions of helium are compared with experimental data. It is found that in the coplanar geometry two kinematical arrangements, (i) equal energy sharing between the two ejected electrons with one of them ejected along the momentum transfer direction and the other along varying direction and (ii) the Bethe ridge condition with fixed sum of ejected electron energies and varying angle between them, are very sensitive to e-e correlations contained in the target wave function. This comparison has been used to show that open-shell class of wave functions better incorporate e-e correlations than the closed-shell class.  相似文献

In this proof of concept study, the ionic liquids, 2-hydroxyethylhydrazinium nitrate and 2-hydroxyethylhydrazinium dinitrate, ignited on contact with preheated Shell 405 (iridium supported on alumina) catalyst and energetically decomposed with no additional ignition source, suggesting a possible route to hydrazine replacements.  相似文献

A complete classification of thephysical modular invariant partition functions for the WZNW models is known for very few affine algebras and levels, the most significant being all levels ofSU(2), and level 1 of all simple algebras. In this paper we solve the classification problem forSU(3) modular invariant partition functions, all levels. Our approach will also be applicable to other affine Lie algebras, and we include some preliminary work in that direction, including a sketch of a new proof forSU(2).  相似文献

The magnetic circular dichroism in the A, B and C bands of KBr:In+ has been measured as a function of temperature between 4 K and 260 K. Results for the A band agree with those reported previously at one temperature only. Our experimental data on the B and C bands are compared with recent theoretical calculations.  相似文献

The formaldehyde-sulfite reaction is an example of an "acid-to-alkali" clock. It displays an induction period, during which the pH varies only slowly in time, followed by a reaction event, during which the pH increases rapidly by several units. When the reaction is performed in a closed (batch) reactor, the clock time is found to increase with a decrease in initial concentrations of formaldehyde and sulfite and an increase in the total initial concentration of S(IV). At long times, following the clock event, there is a slow decrease in pH. In an open (flow) reactor, bistability between a low-pH steady state (pH approximately 6-8) and a high-pH steady state (pH approximately 11) is observed. Additionally, we report the existence of sustained, small-amplitude oscillations in pH in this system. An extended kinetic mechanism reproduces the batch behavior but fails to account for the complex behavior observed in the flow reactor. Possible additional reaction steps are discussed.  相似文献

With the recent national emphasis on preparing children for future careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, K-12 teachers are being called upon to include engineering in their instruction. This study explores the impacts of a summer professional development (PD) program focused on the engineering applications of mathematics and science on in-service K-12 teachers' (a) personal engineering efficacy, (b) engineering teaching efficacy, and (c) perceived barriers to teaching engineering. This quantitative study revealed that a single engineering-focused PD could increase teachers' personal engineering efficacy and engineering teaching efficacy and reduce particular perceived barriers to teaching engineering. No differences existed in pre- to post workshop assessment scores based on grade level taught, gender, or years of teaching experiences. However, pre- to post workshop assessment differences existed between participants depending on the discipline they taught and wether or not they had previously used engineering activities in their classrooms. These findings suggest that a single engineering PD can have significant impacts on in-service teachers' personal engineering efficacy, engineering teaching efficacy, and perceived barriers to teaching engineering, but a one-size-fits-all approach to such PD is not equally effective for all participants.  相似文献

9-formyljulolidine was oxidized via a microwave-assisted Willgerodt-Kindler reaction to the N-piperidine or N-morpholine julolidine-9-thioamide. 9-formyl-1,1,7,7-tetramethyljulolidine gave the corresponding N-piperidine tetramethyljulolidine-9-thioamide. The thioamides were converted to the corresponding carboxamides with trifluoroacetic anhydride. The amide group directed ortho-metalation in the julolidine system, but not in the tetramethyljulolidine system. The resulting anion was captured by dichalcogenide electrophiles. The resulting products were converted to chalcogenoxanthones with phosphorus oxychloride and triethylamine (POCl3/Et3N).  相似文献
