The development of novel, tumor-selective and boron-rich compounds as potential agents for use in boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) represents a very important field in cancer treatment by radiation therapy. Here, we report the design and synthesis of two promising compounds that combine meta-carborane, a water-soluble monosaccharide and a linking unit, namely glycine or ethylenediamine, for facile coupling with various tumor-selective biomolecules bearing a free amino or carboxylic acid group. In this work, coupling experiments with two selected biomolecules, a coumarin derivative and folic acid, were included. The task of every component in this approach was carefully chosen: the carborane moiety supplies ten boron atoms, which is a tenfold increase in boron content compared to the l-boronophenylalanine (l-BPA) presently used in BNCT; the sugar moiety compensates for the hydrophobic character of the carborane; the linking unit, depending on the chosen biomolecule, acts as the connection between the tumor-selective component and the boron-rich moiety; and the respective tumor-selective biomolecule provides the necessary selectivity. This approach makes it possible to develop a modular and feasible strategy for the synthesis of readily obtainable boron-rich agents with optimized properties for potential applications in BNCT.  相似文献

The thermal decomposition of formaldehyde was investigated behind shock waves at temperatures between 1675 and 2080 K. Quantitative concentration time profiles of formaldehyde and formyl radicals were measured by means of sensitive 174 nm VUV absorption (CH2O) and 614 nm FM spectroscopy (HCO), respectively. The rate constant of the radical forming channel (1a), CH2O + M → HCO + H + M, of the unimolecular decomposition of formaldehyde in argon was measured at temperatures from 1675 to 2080 K at an average total pressure of 1.2 bar, k1a = 5.0 × 1015 exp(‐308 kJ mol?1/RT) cm3 mol?1 s?1. The pressure dependence, the rate of the competing molecular channel (1b), CH2O + M → H2 + CO + M, and the branching fraction β = k1a/(kA1a + k1b) was characterized by a two‐channel RRKM/master equation analysis. With channel (1b) being the main channel at low pressures, the branching fraction was found to switch from channel (1b) to channel (1a) at moderate pressures of 1–50 bar. Taking advantage of the results of two preceding publications, a decomposition mechanism with six reactions is recommended, which was validated by measured formyl radical profiles and numerous literature experimental observations. The mechanism is capable of a reliable prediction of almost all formaldehyde pyrolysis literature data, including CH2O, CO, and H atom measurements at temperatures of 1200–3200 K, with mixtures of 7 ppm to 5% formaldehyde, and pressures up to 15 bar. Some evidence was found for a self‐reaction of two CH2O molecules. At high initial CH2O mole fractions the reverse of reaction (6), CH2OH + HCO ? CH2O + CH2O becomes noticeable. Crystal Structure of Dichloro- and Dihydroxo-tetraorganyldistannoxanes X-ray structure determination of 1,3-dichloro-1,1,3,3-tetraisopropyl-distannoxane and of 1,3-dihydroxo-1,3-di-tert.-butyl-1,3-bis(trimethylsilylmethylene)-distannoxaneshows the presence of dimeric molecules. The basic structure consists of three condensed four-membered rings, all lying in one plane. The inner ring is made up of two tin and two oxygen atoms; the outer ones consist of two tin atoms, one oxygen atom and a chlorine or hydroxide bridge, respectively. Simple binary solids can be found to adopt unprecedented structures when confined into nanometre-sized cavities, such as the inner cylindrical bore of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNT). In the case of the discussed Lal(x)@SWNT encapsulation composite, the Lal2 "crystal" fragment adopts the structure of bulk Lal3, with one third of the iodine positions unoccupied. A complete characterisation of the encapsulation composite was achieved using an enhanced digital restoration approach of high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) images. The resulting complex exit surface wave provides information about the precise structural data of both filling material and host SWNT, establishing the SWNT's chirality and thus enabling a prediction of the composite's overall electron-transport properties.  相似文献

The determination of rate constants for fast chemical reactions from nonexponential cavity ringdown profiles requires a consideration of the interfering laser bandwidth effect that arises if the line width of the ringdown probe laser exceeds the absorption line width of the detected species. The deconvolution of the kinetics and the bandwidth effect can be accomplished with the extended simultaneous kinetics and ringdown (eSKaR) model presented by Guo et al. (Guo, et al. Phys. Chem. Chem. Phys. 2003, 5, 4622). We present a detailed validation of this eSKaR model by a corresponding investigation of the well-known rate constant for the reaction NH2 + NO. Line profiles of the pulsed ringdown probe laser and the NH2 absorption line were determined from forward modeling of experimental ringdown profiles and verified by narrow-bandwidth laser absorption measurements. In addition, the rate constant for the title reaction was evaluated using the eSKaR model and also by means of a conventional pump-probe approach with variable time delays between the photolysis (pump) and ringdown (probe) laser pulses. The resulting room temperature rate constant for the NH2 + NO reaction, k1= (8.5 +/- 1.0) x 10(12) cm(3) mol(-1) s(-1), and the room temperature pressure broadening coefficient of NH2, = 2.27 GHz/bar, measured on the A2A1<-- X2B1 transition at wavelengths around lambda = 597 nm, were found to be in excellent agreement with the available literature data.  相似文献

A systematic investigation of the systems Bi3+/carboxylic acid/HNO3 for the tri‐ and tetracarboxylic acids pyromellitic acid (H4Pyr), trimellitic acid (H3Tri) and trimesic acid (H3BTC) acid led to the discovery of five new bismuth carboxylates. Structural characterisation allowed the influence of the linker geometry and the Bi3+:linker molar ratio in the starting solution on the crystal structure to be determined. The crystallisation of three selected compounds was investigated by in situ energy‐dispersive X‐ray diffraction. Three new crystalline intermediates were observed within minutes, and two of them could be isolated by quenching of the reaction mixture. Their crystal structures were determined from laboratory and synchrotron X‐ray powder diffraction data and allowed a possible reaction pathway to be established. In depth characterisation of the luminescence properties of the three bismuth pyromellate compounds was carried out. Fluorescence and phosphorescence could be assigned to (mainly) ligand‐ and metal‐based transitions. The polymorphs of Bi(HPyr) exhibit different luminescence properties, although their structures are very similar. Surprisingly, doping of the three host structures with Eu3+ and Tb3+ ions was only successful for one of the polymorphs.  相似文献
