The effect of crystal polymorphism on barrier and mechanical properties of PLLA is detailed in this contribution. PLLA films containing different amounts of α and α′ crystal forms were prepared by annealing quenched PLLA at different temperatures. The polymorphic structure of the films was analyzed by X-ray diffraction. Mechanical properties and permeability to water vapor were investigated as a function of degree of crystallinity (wC) and related to crystal polymorphism developed during annealing. The polymorphic structure of PLLA significantly affects mechanical and barrier properties. The α crystal modification provides a better barrier to water vapor and a higher Young’s modulus, compared to films containing the α′ modification, but a lower elongation at break. The varied barrier and mechanical properties were correlated to the different packing of PLLA chains in the two analyzed polymorphs. The conformational disorder of the α′ form makes this structure a mesophase (condis crystal), with remarkable effects on material properties.  相似文献

This paper reports on the first phytochemical analysis ever performed on Jasminum tortuosum Willd. This analysis, mainly carried out by means of column chromatography separation, NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry, led to the isolation and the identification of four compounds, namely the lignans ginkgool (1) and olivil-4′-O-β-glucopyranoside (2) and the secoiridoids oleoside dimethyl ester (3) and oleoside 11-methyl ester (4). The presence of these compounds is significant from a chemotaxonomic point of view, confirming the correct botanical classification of the species and, from a phytochemical standpoint, may suggest its possible use in the ethno-medicinal field.  相似文献

We analysed the ethanolic extract from Ajuga genevensis L. (Lamiaceae) growing in Dolomites, part of Italian Alps. Three new compounds for this species were identified: rosmarinic acid (1), oleanolic acid (2) and maslinic acid (3), representative of two different classes of chemical compounds (phenylpropanoids and pentacyclic triterpenes). A. genevensis resulted to be a valuable source of these compounds endowed with interesting biological activities (i.e. antioxidant, neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory, antiproliferative). The recognition of compounds (1), (2) and (3) may also confirm the ethnomedicinal uses of this plant. From a chemotaxonomical point of view, it is worth noting that iridoids were not evidenced in this accession. Iridoids are considered chemotaxonomic marker in Lamiales, and, in contrast with a previous study on this species, the presence of aucubin was not confirmed. In addition, the presence of large amounts of rosmarinic acid (1) was unexpected for a species that does not belong to subfamily Nepetoideae.  相似文献

In this work, the phytochemical analysis of Teucrium chamaedrys L. collected in Italy was reported. Eight compounds were isolated and identified by means of classical column chromatography and spectroscopic techniques, such as NMR and MS. In detail, these compounds were: verbascoside (1), forsythoside b (2), samioside (3), alyssonoside (4), harpagide (5), 8-O-acetyl-harpagide (6), cirsiliol (7) and β-arbutin (8). The presence of these compounds, in particular iridoids and phenyl-ethanoid glycosides, has a chemotaxonomic relevance and results to be in perfect accordance with the current botanical classification of the species. In addition, it provides a phytochemical rationale for the use of this particular plant in the ethno-pharmacological field. Conversely, it is worth of mention the absence of potentially toxic components, unlike to what observed in other species of the genus which can no longer be used for ethno-medicinal purposes.  相似文献

In this paper the fundamental effects of losses on resonant parameters (frequencies and quality factors) are analyzed for circular-cylindrical dielectric resonators inserted between metal plates, in the configuration also called NRD (Non-Radiative Dielectric).Power dissipations are considered both in the dielectric and in the conductors. Complex resonant frequencies and closed-form expressions for the relevant quality factors are derived rigorously for arbitrary resonant modes, even without circular symmetry. Numerical results are presented and discussed, making also use of experimental data obtained by means of a suitable NRD set-up.The present analysis accurately provides the basic information for a more realistic design of up-to-date millimeter-wave frequency-selective devices in NRD circuitry.  相似文献

3,3-Diethylthiadicarbocyanine (DiSC2(5)) is a monocationic dye which forms cofacial dimers that insert into the minor groove of DNA [J. Seifert, R. Conner, S. Kushon, M. Wang, B. Armitage, J. Am. Chem. Soc. 121 (1999) 2987]. These dyes self-assemble into long helical aggregates in AT-rich regions with the dimers aligned in an end-to-end fashion. A model is presented that allows for the construction of large helical aggregates with continuously variable structural parameters. The spectra or excited states are computed using a direct intermediate neglect of differential overlap (INDO) single configuration interaction (SCI) method. Results are reported for both H- and J-type aggregates ranging in size from 2 to 6 dimers. A more approximate model based on transition charge densities enables calculations of larger aggregates. These models are used to derive structural parameters of both H- and J-type aggregates from the available spectral data, resulting in a new structural model for J-type aggregation in these systems.  相似文献

Abstract

The phytochemical examination of the polar constituents of Sambucus ebulus L. leaves led to the identification of patrinoside (1) and of a new diglycoside iridoid, patrinoside-aglycone-11-O-[β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→6)-2′-deoxy-β-D-glucopyranoside] (trivially named as sambuloside) (2). In this work the HPLC and NMR analysis of the phenyl-ethanoid glycosides (PhGs) pattern of a cultivated exemplar of Verbascum thapsus L. (Scrophulariaceae) from the Etnean area (Sicily, Italy) was performed in order to verify their possible presence. Wild V. thapsus is well-known in ethnopharmacology due to the several beneficial effects that it is able to exert and which are primarily due to these compounds. So, it’s extremely important that also cultivated exemplars of this species biosynthesize them in order to maintain their pharmacological properties. This study revealed the presence of seven PhGs in an unusual novel pattern. Thus, this exemplar is a very good potential source of this class of natural products and may be employed for several beneficial ethnopharmacological purposes.  相似文献

Peptide nucleic acid (PNA) is a synthetic analogue of DNA and RNA, developed more than a decade ago in which the naturally occurring sugar phosphate backbone has been replaced by the N-(2-aminoethyl) glycine units. Unlike DNA or RNA in the unhybridized state (single strand) which can adopt a helical structure through base-stacking, although highly flexible, PNA does not have a well-defined conformational folding in solution. Herein, we show that a simple backbone modification at the gamma-position of the N-(2-aminoethyl) glycine unit can transform a randomly folded PNA into a helical structure. Spectroscopic studies showed that helical induction occurs in the C- to N-terminal direction and is sterically driven. This finding has important implication not only on the future design of nucleic acid mimics but also on the design of novel materials, where molecular organization and efficient electronic coupling are desired.  相似文献

Genetic methods now allow the rapid production of mutant proteins for structure-function analysis. To properly interpret any change in biologic activity resulting from modification in primary sequence, it is essential to monitor conformational changes resulting from mutations. Several methods allow low-resolution protein conformational analysis. One method, second-derivative UV absorption spectroscopy, is particularly useful for proteins containing tyrosine and/or tryptophan residues. Using high-performance size-exclusion liquid chromatography and scanning diode array detection we have demonstrated that it is possible to monitor the degree of aggregation as well as conformational perturbation for a series of interleukin-2 structural mutants. Furthermore, the combination of high-performance liquid chromatography and second-derivative UV absorption spectroscopy avoids a potential artifactual contribution in non-chromatographic analysis due to protein aggregation.  相似文献
