The inversion of the particle size distribution from electrical mobility measurements is analyzed.Three different methods are adapted for a dot-matrix approach to the problem,especially for non-square or singular matrices,and applied to electrical mobility measurements from fixed or scanning voltages.Multiply charged particles,diffusion losses,arbitrary voltage steps and noise were considered,which results in non-adjoining and overlapping transfer functions.The individual contribution of the transfer functions in each size interval was geometrically estimated,which requires only its characteristic mobilities.The methodology is applied to mobility measurements from particles charged with unipolar and bipolar chargers.However,the method can be extrapolated to any charging method with a defined charge distribution,and retrieval of the singly charged particle distribution and mean charge from a tandem differential mobility analysis configuration was successfully demonstrated.  相似文献

The origin of the well-defined collective excitations found in liquid para-H2 by recent experiments is investigated. The persistence of their relatively long lifetimes down to microscopic scales is well accounted for by calculations carried out by means of path-integral-centroid molecular dynamics. In contrast only overdamped excitations are found in calculations carried within the classical limit. The results provide fully quantitative evidence of quantum effects on the dynamics of a simple liquid.  相似文献

Summary In this paper we apply the theory of surface thermodynamics to find the jump condition on heat flux across a melting-surface. We distinguish between the effects of surface tension and of surface energy and describe relations between the two which may ensure enhancement or diminution of the curvature of the surface.
Zussamenfassung In dieser Arbeit wenden wir die Theorie der Oberflächen-Thermodynamik auf die Bestimmung der Sprungbedingung für den Wärmefluss an einer Schmelzfläche an. Wir trennen die Oberflächenspannungs-Effekte von den Oberflächenenergie-Effekten und beschreiben Beziehungen zwischen den beiden, die eine Vergrösserung oder Verkleinerung der Oberflächenkrümmung bedingen können.

We present a neutron scattering study of the temperature and composition dependence of the MnO-type superstructure reflection intensities in the diamagnetically diluted antiferromagnetic compounds EuxSr1-xTe. In these materials antiferromagnetic biquadratic and ferromagnetic three-spin interactions have been identified recently. These fourth-order non-Heisenberg interactions are able to create their own order parameter which is believed to govern the order of the transverse moment components and which, hence, is directed perpendicular to the common Heisenberg order parameter. The observed MnO-type diffraction intensities originate in the sublattice magnetizations, , of both order parameters. Due to the different composition dependencies for biquadratic interaction processes and three-spin interaction processes , the ferromagnetic three-spin interactions dominate for x > x c =0.85, while for x <0.85 the antiferromagnetic biquadratic interactions dominate. Associated with this sign change in the fourth-order interaction sum the transverse order parameter changes from the antiferromagnetic MnO type for x <0.85 to ferromagnetic for x >0.85. This is noticed as a sudden decrease of the low-temperature MnO scattering intensities at x c =0.85. Although susceptibility measurements reveal clearly a ferromagnetic component for x >0.85 no ferromagnetic Bragg intensities were observed in standard neutron scattering spectra using EuTe powder samples. We explain this by the competition of antiferromagnetic biquadratic and ferromagnetic three-spin interactions whereby a disturbed ferromagnetic superstructure may be generated which gives rise also to weak MnO-type diffraction lines. It is found that the resulting obeys a T2 law until a temperature as large as 0.75TN irrespective of the nature of the transverse order parameter. The T2 law must, hence, be common to both types of order parameter showing that the fourth-order interactions re-define the spin dynamics of both completely. From the linear composition dependence of the normalized T2 coefficient the existence of three-spin interactions is again confirmed. The oxides of the SrCo(1-x)Sb(x)O(3-δ) perovskite family have been recently designed, characterized and described as cathode materials for solid-oxide fuel cells with competitive power performance in the temperature range 750-850 °C. They feature a number of interesting properties including a good electronic conductivity, low electrode polarization resistance and adequate thermal expansion; the crystal structure adopts a 3C corner-linked perovskite network with a considerable number of oxygen vacancies. This paper reports on the effects of Sb-doping on the crystal structure features, the Co oxidation state and magnetic properties related to the presence of spin-state transitions in the Co cations. A phase transition was observed from the tetragonal P4/mmm space group for x≤ 0.15 to the cubic Pm ?3m space group in the x = 0.2 composition from neutron powder diffraction data. For the tetragonal phases the oxygen vacancies were found to be ordered and localized in the axial O2 and equatorial O3 atoms surrounding the Co2 positions. A noticeable distortion of CoO(6) octahedra is observed for x = 0.05 and 0.1, exhibiting a charge-ordering with a mixed oxidation state of Co(3+/4+) at Co1 sites and Co(3+) at Co2 positions: the Jahn-Teller Co(3+) in an intermediate-spin configuration is responsible for the octahedral distortion. Increasing Sb contents promotes a higher average oxidation state of cobalt, from a valence of 3.2+ for x = 0.05 to 3.4+ for x = 0.2, inducing a decrease of the oxygen vacancies and favouring a random distribution over a Pm ?3m cubic symmetry. All the samples present an antiferromagnetic behaviour with a G-type (k = 0) magnetic structure. The increase of the Sb content induces the weakening of the crystal field (Δ(cf)) in the octahedral environment promoting the Co spin-transition from the intermediate-spin to the high-spin configuration, as evidenced by the decrease of the octahedral distortion, increment of the unit-cell volume and enhancement of the ordered magnetic moment.  相似文献
