A NEW POLYMER-BOUND 1,2-DIOL AS A PROTECTING AGENT FOR SYMMETRICAL DIALDEHYDE

A novel polymer-bound 1,2-diol, 3-polystyrylsulfonyl-1,2-propanediol (6) had been prepared by the reaction of sodium polystyrylsulfinate with allyl bromide, followed by oxidation and. hydrolysis or directly with 3-chloro-1,2-propanediol in the presence of a phase transfer catalyst, n-tetrabutylammonium iodide. The capacity of resin 6 for terephthaidehyde reached 1.43 mmol/g. The aldehydic groups attached to polymer 6 reacted with hydroxylamine hydrochloride or reduced by sodium borohydride giving p-formylbenzaldoxime (yield: 89%)and p-formyl-benzalcohol (yield: 734%), respectively. The high yields of these polymer-supported reactions showed that the polymer 6 possessed the effective isolation of its reactive sites.

Measurement of Velocity Distribution in Atomic Beam by Diode Laser with Narrow Line width

In this paper, by using the detecting laser beam interacts with the atomic beam at a sharp angle and the Doppler frequency shift effect, the velocity distribution in cesium atomic beam is measured with a diode laser of narrow linewidth of 1 MHz. The effects of the atomic natural line width and cycling transition detecting factor on the measured results have been analyzed. Finally, the measured results have been compared with the theoretical calculation.     

INVESTIGATION ON PRODUCTION OF REFINED BRINE USED IN CHLORO—ALKALI MEMBRANE BY D 412 CHELATING RESIN

The adsorption property,the operating life,the operating exchange capacity and regeneration of D412 macroporous phosphonomethylamina chelating resin for removing Ca^2+,Mg^2+ and Fe^2+ from high pH brine of alkali production by ionic membrane were investigated.The resin showed good physical-chemical and kinetic propoerty,high exchange capacity.excellent durability.
